This is our favorite place to get hot chai. The staff is mostly welcoming. We always tip well hoping they smile more. While the chai is homemade, it has definitely been inconsistent, sometimes too watered down. It's expensive and we always order a pastry. This adorable small coffee shop has a lot of options to choose from. I ordered the Oaxacan Mocha and it was the perfect amount of sweet and spice. While the service, space and experience was enjoyable, the cappuccino we ordered was terrible. The espresso tasted burnt and the milk was definitely not steamed properly and very bubbly and unappetizing. I didn't drink more than two sips before deciding to leave. Raging Sage opened when I was in grad school umpteen years ago, and I swung by for the first time in at least 20 years. I don't think the place has changed a stitch. Same small, but cozy, interior, same spacious and shaded outside patio, same counter where you order beverages and pastries. I just stopped by, as I often do on my way out of town. Spent about $40 for pastries and drinks for four of us. I'm happy to support this Tucson Icon that I've enjoyed since early 2000s. I'm a big fan of scones and craft coffee, so here comes my critique. Coffee's good. The scones are bland unless covered in sugary glaze. Where is the jalapeño jelly for your signature sage scone? I find the fillings skimpy, as we sampled fig walnut and orange cranberry, which I think deserves a glaze. Our family members used to pack scones to travel back to the East Coast. Did you switch to a vegan recipe? Are you using butter? What happened to the snappy baking sofa flavoured bite? The staff on our visit last night was super friendly. We stayed until close and they were very kind when they corralled us out. While visiting Tucson I had the absolute delight of discovering Raging Sage! Everything about this coffee shop is perfect for me! The iced chai, made on site- not syrup- was perfectly spicy/sweet! The wedge of Almond Ginger Bundt cake was HUGE, moist and incredibly flavorful! The ambiance is perfect. Despite the heat there are well shaded tables and chairs outside as well as ample seating inside. The staff are friendly, fast, and helpful! I wish I lived there! This is my second time here and my daughter just loves the scones as a reminder of HOME. We got here later in the afternoon this time so they were all out of the berry scones that she loves!! The scone that was available was nicely marked, "with pecans" so she knew she couldn't eat it. There were plenty of other baked goods to choose from and eye catching at that! The cafe is a nice chill setting whether you're indoors or outdoors & the staff is masked and they have water to the side with hand sanitizer if you wanted. I love Raging Sage. The inside is cozy and cute, and the shaded garden outside is lovely when the weather is nice (aka cooler). It's a great place to meet a friend or have a casual business meeting. I've received great customer service from everyone, but I especially appreciate Tammy. I almost always get a hot decaf oat milk vanilla latte accompanied by some delicious baked good from the case. One of my favorites is the pumpkin bread, though I really have enjoyed everything I have tried. This is a regular stop for me and, if I lived closer, I'd likely be here every day. Scones, scones, and more scones. Fresh out of the oven and every batch is unique. There is a large size as well as a small size of scone. These are not your typical scone. They have a very unique texture. Outstanding taste. Today I had a chocolate chip cherry. So so good. I also took home a piece of carrot cake for a friend who is a connoisseur of carrot cakes :-) I took a nibble of that cake and frosting- my taste buds were jumping for joy . I came here yesterday to have a drink and do some work and was surprised by how busy it was. We did find a table though. There are tables inside and outside and about 3 of the inside tables have a padded bench on one side. The rest of the chairs in the place are hard. I don't drink caffeine and was pleasantly surprised that they had an option for me. The strawberry italian soda was really good and not too sweet. I was unable to connect to the wifi which is an important part of a coffee shop. It was really loud, so if you plan on working, bring noise cancelling headphones. read more

They are an old school locals place that I honestly appreciate more than some of the chains around tucson. The coffee here is strong, done well, satisfying, not drowned down in milk. A cappuccino is strong, bold, and the milk froth is the best I have had in town. These people know what they are doing when it comes to coffee. Coming from Portland, OR I know the good stuff. After only discovering Presta and Cartel. I can say this is a better place for the pure taste of the coffee and how it is prepared. The atmosphere is cozy some people might want more space but that is the earthy vibe here. The outdoor patio has a few fruit trees and plenty of seating. You can bring your dog. First off, kudos for the pleasant staff and the lovely environment, especially the patio which is a gem. The coffee is excellent. I took two pieces of pastry home. One was a cake that was getting old and was sold at a discount so no complaints that it had dried slightly. The other was a berry coconut tart that had decent pastry but needed more filling. Based on those treats, I would have been underwhelmed if this were a bakery; but it isn't, it's a coffee shop. And, for that it is certainly four stars and a promise to return. read more

First of all, the ambiance is great. What a nice patio outside with the fruit trees and the shade, and it's pet friendly. Secondly, the staff are friendly and helpful. Today was my first visit so I can't comment yet on how consistently good the coffee is, but my Vietnamese Iced Coffee was outstanding! Probably the best I've ever had, because in most other coffee shops, it's way too sweet. At Sage, I didn't even ask them to modify it in any way and it was (to me) the perfect amount of sweetness. And you can still taste excellent coffee/espresso flavor through it. THAT'S how it should be. The mere fact that they even offer Vietnamese Iced Coffee is significant. They also offer Afogato. So the selection is great. No, I didn't try the scones yet, only because I'm just not a fan of scones in general, but people rave about them and while I was in there, two people ordered them. Finally stopped going because of the RUDE staff, overpriced and stale pastries, and nasty coffee (7$ for a cappuccino). Had a nice flaky crust, a little salty on top, moist on the inside and full of flavor. Perfectly balanced! The 1 star was because of the service. I came in with 4 of my kids we were all masked we were all polite but for some reason her reaction to me was one of irritation as if my mere presence was afflicting her. If she was just as rude to the following customers I would assume she had a bad day. I mean we are all going through stuff, but she was not rude to the next customers which leads me to believe that the fact that I wear a head scarf was what pissed her off... Some friends from out of town wanted a good mocha. Raging sage is right down the street from us and the weather was good to sit on their patio. Everything about our experience was awesome. The staff were friendly. The drinks were awesome and prepared to our custom order. I got us a piece of vegan pumpkin bread to share. First off, the piece was huge for the price.
