Still a 5 star review from me and this is based on my birthday dinner there last month and the catering they did for my parents' vow renewal last week. Their food is a little pricey but so worth it! My parents ordered trays for food to feed about 15. A tray of lomo saltado, that came with a tray of white rice and a separate tray of French fries, a tray of rotisserie chicken and a tray of arroz chaufa (fried rice with eggs). The food was scheduled to be here at 3PM and by 315 we were serving the food and it was so hot, it didn't even need to be warmed up. They also provided us with a container of the famous green sauce. Everyone was raving about the food! You have to be Peruvian to understand that we are very picky and if someone says they like it you know their food is good. Honestly the massive trays of food ended ho feeding about 25 and we still had leftovers. The owner catered to my parents needs and we are so thankful everything came out as planned. Thank you for the delicious food, we will Be back on Mother's Day! read more

I stopped by here for a quick lunch after a doctor's appointment, and it was wonderful. I got their Bistec a lo pobre lunch special, and boy was it a lot of food. There was a small steak, eggs, fries, plantains, a small side salad and a drink. There were a few tables filled when I arrived, mostly smaller parties and a one other solo diner. It made me feel a bit relieved seeing there was another solo diner besides myself! From the time I sat down to when I got my food, it was about 15 minutes, so not too long. The service was quick and efficient, and none of the waiters/waitresses ever rushed anyone. I'm not usually in the area so I wasn't familiar with what's good in the area, but I'm happy I stopped by Riviera Maya for lunch. It was a pleasant surprise to a great afternoon. read more

This was one of the worst Mexican Peruvian fusion restaurants we have been to in Astoria. Everything, was off from the bland food we received to the wait service. The empanadas were not fresh. My quesadilla with fries was just plain awful. We had to wait endlessly for service and out seating arrangement was uncomfortable to say the least. Only the decor and ambiance was We had to wait endlessly for service, and our seating arrangement was uncomfortable, to say the least. We will not be back read more

Muy buena atencion y la comida muy recommendable la gente Que trabaja ahi es muy amable

Service and food always impeccable. I was craving seafood and opted for a whole fried fish that did not disappoint! The sides it came with was an avocado salad with tostones and it was an excellent combination. My boyfriend got the mole poblano with steak and he loved it! He is very picky when it comes to mole, and it's all he gets when he goes there so that says a lot! We always get a pitcher of sangria because it's delish! Their 2-go drinks by the way are SO worth it! Strong and delicious :) try their guava mojito - believe you me you will not be disappointed! You are welcome, and cheers! ~Susan read more

We have been wanting to come here for a little while now, always see it when im walking on steinway in the neighborhood. Its our Date Night so we decided on this place which has outdoor dining. Service was excellent & prompt, the food was really good and the drinks were tasty & strong just like i like my men lol. We ordered the beef saltado & the salmon and shared both. The beef was really good, the salmon was nothing special. But good For an appetizer we got the octopus which was a little gummy but tasty. We got the mango mojitos. The plates are big and you def get full Had some serious ittus afterwards. Our bill came out to about $100. Not too bad. Great experience overall. The real vegetables growing in the garden outside was really cute. Hey, at least you know its fresh. read more

My second time having dinner here. The drinks are great (for the most part) and the food is simply scrumptious. Today we had the Roco Maya, enough food for two guys who like to eat. The bottom of the dish had salsa verde which was the cherry on top of this already flavorful meal. The first time we had ceviche mixto and the skirt steak with vegetables. All mouth watering. We will definitely make this a regular spot. They have a lunch special as well, might be worth checking out. Service was attentive too! Overall: I recommend it. read more

From the outside looking in, we thought wow this place looks great. Let's try it! Music was good. We had asked for water and only one of us got a cup of water. I took a sip and i tasted something weird on my lips.. i thought it was some residue from my previous drink on my lips maybe. I took another sip and the same taste came back. There was lip marks on the rim of the cup when i put it against the light. It was somebody's lipgloss I was tasting. We told them the cup was dirty and no apologies nor care was given. Just another cup of water. We said it's okay. Let's not make a big deal, maybe the food is really good. We ordered the al pastor tacos and the chicken burrito. No taste. No flavor. The big pieces of fat made the tacos very unenjoyable. The chicken burrito tasted dry and old. As if they reused food. We didn't finish our food and asked to get the chicken burrito and fries to go. We got home and they only packed the burrito, no fries. Between the food tasting dry, old, and flavorless, and us not getting the bunch of fries we left, we definitely came to the conclusion that we will not recommend nor come back to this establishment. If they reuse food and reserve it to their customers, I hope someone realizes this and is able to make a change about it. read more

just walking in you'll see the beautifully decorated walls and the pretty little trinkets all around (although there seems to be a swarm of flies directly under the glass in the ceiling) i've been here a few times and the service is more and more attentive each time! we ordered a few minutes after sitting and got the following: lomo saltado chicken - 8/10 friend said she liked it! it was better the last time she got it but still pretty good. the fries were crispy and the chicken was juicy. lomo saltado beef - 8/10 ah i feel NY lomo saltado doesn't compare to the ones i've had in other places but it was pretty good! the beef tasted a bit too meaty but i drowned that out with some more green sauce we also got lemonades which were good but needed some sugar, which we got with no problem. we also asked for extra green sauce and red sauce bc they usually just give one but we like our food super saucy definitely worth a try, especially during lunch special hours bc the lomo saltado is only $14 then (mon-fri 12-4 i believe)!!!! read more

The short of it - nice people and place, good food, unadvertised credit card fee, and slow to get out. Almost a year later after trying to eat here, I'm eating here. The first time I and two other tables put in orders with apps but after 30 minutes (more?) of waiting for something we all left (told the host and they apologized). This time we were served right away by a friendly staff. The food arrived quickly and was delicious (quick bites of a burrito and a salad). No hot sauce, so ask. But it really took too long for them to pick up the check after the credit card was placed on the edge of the table. I wish I was given priority over clearing a table, at least (wasn't busy). read more

This place has great food. However the people serving have a bad and condescending attitude. They were so rude to us. We we told the waiter that he got the order wrong and he firmly said "NO YOU ORDERED THE CHICKEN, NOT THE STEAK". It happens every time we go and we go at least 2 times a week. That's how much we love the food. I hope that the owners address this so that they won't lose customers. I run a business and there is no need to make the customers uncomfortable The owner needs to hire qualified professional people. These people don't care. read more

Went during the grand opening. The place looks great indoors, and the servers are all really nice and attentive! Ordered the Al Pastor burrito and tried their sangria. The Al Pastor meat tasted good, but the burrito itself had too many onions. It was also an interesting surprise to see that the burrito came with a side of French fries instead. The sangria was a little too syrupy, but the amount of alcohol was nice and strong. read more

The meat in the lomo soltado was not good some pieces tasted weird like it was old or uncooked also the chicken was dry

My husband and I went here on a Saturday night, no reservation just stopped by around 8. We were seated right away but about an hour later the place was full. It is very humble and non pretentious, the decor is beautiful with half the place being Mexican themed and the other Peruvian. We started with the guacamole and chips, and then i got tacos al pastor while my husband got the lomo saltado. The guacamole was delicious and tasted very fresh, my only complaint is that we asked for it be spicy but it was only mild. The tacos were yummy and big in portion, the meat was well seasoned but if i could make one change it would be for the tortillas to be hand made!!! The lomo saltado was delicious, juicy, flavorful and served hot. Portions were big enough to take home leftovers. They had live karaoke and played Mexican music the entire night, finally a Mexican restaurant with authentic music! We had a good time and our server was really attentive. We definitely recommend and cant wait to go back. read more

Really excited to go back here and try more of their Latin cuisine! My sister and I shared the Roca Maya, and it was delicious. I can't decide what tasted the best but the chicken was so well seasoned the first bite was incredible. The cocktails were alright, we tried something with mezcal and I wasn't blown away, I'll probably try a different one next time. The value is good for the meal we were stuffed by the time we left. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're walking down Steinway. read more

This place is close to where I live and I thought I'd give it a shot. Ate there once and got food poisoning. After waiting a few months I decided to go back and try it again...got food poisoning again. I wouldn't recommend it. Plus the wait staff is slow and rude. Not worth the time. read more

This is my second time ordering delivery. Food is delicious, best Hispanic food around. My low review is because of service and lack of professionalism. My delivery took an hour and a half and I am a few blocks away. First time I called they told me the food was on the way, second call that the food was there I expressed my frustration and never got a apology no empathy whatsoever, got transfer to another person for me to explain the situation again ... there are many small business trying to stay afloat that deserve chances. Those employees should be more grateful that they have a job and treat customers with more respect apparently the pandemic didn't teach a lesson to many. read more

Great food and good service cocktails are excellent the "molcahete" is a must for the table.

Great food. Nachos are amazing. I love the Sangria as well. Great ambiance. Just a little pricey.

I ordered a Lomo Saltado and a henny colada (don't recommend), the passionfruit house margarita slaps though. My friend ordered a chicken taco but got some rotisserie chicken instead, just make sure they understand what you're ordering!!!!!! The lomo saltado was pretty good! I got exactly what I ordered, it was $25 but it was defff worth it. The flavor was there guys you have to try it! My only suggestion would be to order it with extra sauce because it was lacking enough to cover the amount of rice given. Overall, I would come back again. My friend on the other hand disagrees but I'll convince to come back :) xoxo Anika P.S : Get the tall Hispanic waiter with the fresh cut, he's got some pretty good customer service skills. Thank you. read more
