    Ceviche de Lenguado.

I ordered take out. The ceviche is probably one the best ceviches in queens! The perfect amount of picante (spice). The camote purée was amazing! Great presentation in a takeout box. Highly recommend. Delicious

Very delicious entrees. I got the Lomo Salgado, white fish ceviche and seafood pasta. Our server was incredibly nice and detail oriented. Also got the pina colada and piano sour which were great.

We had a very attentive waiter named Josue. He greeted us at the door with a smile, sat us at the table we requested, refilled our water and wine before it was empty, and had impeccable manners. He made our night and experience a great one. We enjoyed the quaint feeling of the restaurant and decor. The food was flavorful and cooked well. This is a hidden gem in Sunnyside.

It was a wonderful experience at Punto Sal! The ambience is quite elegant. It is great for an intimate date or small groups. It has a fancy atmosphere and the tables have white table cloths, bottles of wine already available, and two glasses as you sit down. (Looking at the glassware, something tells me the bistro may not be a spot for kids who like movement.) I walked in with my husband earlier this evening. The waiter provided us toasted bread with lentils in olive oil which was new and tasty to me. I had my eye on the jalea, pulpo, and then of course decided on the national dish. I had to order the ceviche lenguado (filet of sole). It was so good. I really enjoyed it. Inside my ceviche, there were toasted corn kernels that were crunchy (cancha-which is chullpi corn) and also a long side were boiled big corn kernels (choclo). I would like to add that also present in my chosen dish were sweet potato just perfectly done, soft but at allnot breakable..it was the right consistency. My husband had the fettuccine huancaina. It was pretty good. I snuck a few bites to see how it was. And I have to say the presentation of the food was spectacular! I would definitely recommend to others who want a fancy date. The service was excellent. To speak to the alcoholic beverages, the pisco sour maracuya (passion fruit) was so delicious! I absolutely would return to try more food and Pisco sours!

Keepin it real in Sunnyside. Got a rec from a stranger raving about how good this spot is, learned that the owner/chef is actually from Ecuador and had his training in Peru, has a passion for Peruvian cooking and is now serving in Sunnyside. Food was on point, everything was super fresh and the staff were all super friendly. Great vibes and still feels like a family owned restaurant, def a Sunnyside gem!

    Delicious skirt steak.

Absolutely the best Peruvian food I've ever had, anywhere. The warm hospitality, wonderfully attentive service, food cooked with love and passion makes this a very special place. We ordered the skirt steak, lomo saltado and white fish and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Mango mousse dessert was delectable as well. Highly, highly recommended!

Ceviche Combo Special and Papa Rellena

The Ceviche Combo special and Papa Rellena were amazing! The Fettuccini Huancaina was also amazing! Their pisco sour was a bit too sour for my liking but the service was incredible. It's a bit on the fancier side but my new go-to Peruvian spot. Worth the trip to woodside! We will be back!

The special of the day was a mixed platter. The fried calamari was exceptional.
    Anna L.

Excellent service - hospitable and gracious. Inside was clean and warm, exposed brick with full wine racks on the walls and a bottle on every table highlighting their selection. Music was low but lively - setting a good mood for conversation. This would be a great date location or a place to have a quiet meal with a friend. Hidden Peruvian gem in Wooodside. We tried the special - a sampling of many of their dishes. This place does fried stuff well. The ceviche and dish similar to paella was okay. What stood out to us was their hot sauce - they should bottle the stuff - perfect heat, vinegar, and sweetness ratio, hurts so good! We hope to be back!

The food was exceptional. Portions were a good size. Sangria was delicious and nice and strong. Sit outside there was a lot of smoke inside. Service was a bit slow but the food made it worth it.

I got tipsy at first sip, and I have a high alcohol tolerance. I ordered the Sunday lunch special: the Beef Rib Soup with a side of white rice, chicken, salad and corn cake. The beef was tough, but everything else was good. TIP: Ask for some extra green sauce. It is the tastiest green sauce that I have ever had. For dessert, I had the Torta de Almojábana, which is a warmed breading pudding made from Colombian cheese bread, cornmeal, cuajada cheese and guava. It was delicious, but I did not care for the side of soft "low quality" vanilla ice cream. I would have preferred that it had been hard "high quality" ice cream so it could have melted over the dessert. My favorite brand is Ben and Jerry's. A lot of Astorians say that they're the best Peruvian rotisserie chicken in the area & "Chino Latino" restaurant (more than the other one further down Broadway). I think the food here is better than it's viral sister restaurant in Sunnyside. And cleaner, brighter, & with more of a neighborhood feel. An young man was just finishing an early dinner with his grandmother, helping her leave the restaurant with her cane. Other small families came in for dinner also. The other place's dining area seems like a hallway rest stop for workers, couples & their late lunch. I ordered the around $22 1/4 Chicken (dark meat) & 3 Spare Ribs w/ white rice. Be prepared to wait a bit - they are THAT busy. I got there around 5:30pm on a weekday & there were already 5-7 people in the front area waiting for their orders. The Green Sauce! is good & Much better than their sister restaurant's. Balanced between savory with a bit of spice & herb. I enjoyed the spare ribs more than the chicken. They were super tender & a medium flavor. Would actually appreciate a little bit more marinade, but it was decent. The chicken was just okay, needed more marinating time/flavor. Rice was long grain & mostly moist & cooked well. Never a fan of place's fried rice - always lacking flavor & not moist.

Dishes we've had include: - Half Chicken: $9.50; $10.34 with tax. The chicken and accompanying green sauce are above average; 4 stars out of 5. The chicken is flavorfully marinated and moist, and the green sauce has a little heat to it. - The Sampler: $16.99; $18.59 with tax. The most flavorful component of this dish was the chicken. The rice was on the mushy side. The ceviche was OK but the proteins didn't quite have the right textures. - Aeropuerto Special: $15.25; $16.60 with tax. OK; 3 stars out of 5. A mixture of thin lo mein noodles and rice with some roast pork, chicken, and shrimp. The dish seemed to have a decent wok hei, which was confusing because the chicken rice from the Sampler was on the mushy side. This dish would be much better with more proteins, and the wok hei suggests that the restaurant has untapped potential. - Papa Rellena: $8.95; $9.74 with tax. OK; 3 stars out of 5. Stuffed deep fried potatoes that seemed factory-made, instead of house-made. Atmosphere, Service, Other: The restaurant is casual, clean, and comfortable for dining in, with a mix of regular tables and booth-style seating. Those who choose to dine-in should order food at the counter, receive a number placard, and find a place to sit. Staff will bring plates, utensils, and later, one's food and drink; and will clear the table when your party is finished eating. Service is notably upbeat. Suggested tips are based on pre-tax subtotals, and start at an affordable 12%. Overall ticket time (the time between placing an order and having that order served) is reasonable. By contrast, Bayside Chicken Lovers often requires that orders be placed in advance to minimize wait time. The restroom is adequately maintained, but oddly pipes in music louder than in the main dining area. Simple Peruvian is a couple of storefronts away from Kora, which is a superb place for dessert afterwards.

The table went to a walk-in party of three instead, no one ever came back to us. When I went to find the manager myself, things went downhill fast. He brushed off our request, said everyone was seated the same way, and when I pushed back, threw in a "Do you understand?" mid-conversation that was anything but friendly. Ended by telling us we could leave if we weren't happy, then walked off to "attend to other guests." We were paying customers with a valid reservation making a completely reasonable request. The way we were handled was dismissive at best, rude at worst. Food was fine. Service from the floor staff was okay. But the manager single-handedly made this a one-star experience.
