Yeah no, this place i wouldnt recommend at all. First off every waiter in this place has a slight attitude and no knowledge to absolutely nothing. I'll explain in a little bit. Ordered a cocada Margarita and the rim came with tajin. When i told the lady that it came with spicy she said i shouldve told her. Let's start with the place was like a sauna, why?! It was also dark I get that's the vibe for the lights but not cute. The chairs were so uncomfortable. Every time we got up they would fall back because we had our jackets on them, but where else are we supposed to put them. We ordered chips and guacamole, Al pastor tacos, shrimp quesadilla and the pitcher of margarita. - chips and guacamole 0/10 Stale chips overly salty and had lemon, guacamole had no flavor. - Al pastor tacos 0/10 oily taco didn't taste good at all. Honestly everything tastes like it was frozen and heated up. The meat was chunks of fat and hard to chew. - shrimp quesadilla 0/10 again tasted frozen the shrimp was super tiny overly cheesy and oily. I think the only thing that was good was the margaritas. Also when they seat you down they don't offer water, we had to ask for our water. All this for $130 tip is already included. We really wanted to love this place. We saw some awesome tik toks about it but it fell short for us. We knew it was a party place so we expected it to be loud, but it was sooo loud. You could barely talk over the music. They did have a live band later on in the night which was nice. The drinks were very good and most of the food was great but the service was absolutely horrible. You had to flag down anybody to help you. We weren't even sure if we had an actual server or if they just shared all the tables. Very hard to even get a second round of drinks. The place is dark and has neon lights which was pretty cool. We all enjoyed the food but wouldn't go back because of how bad the service was. A lot of the time, they were all just standing ar the bar area. Went on a weekend for lunch, so it was quite empty. The decor is very nice and brightly colored, music wasn't too loud. Hostess was very nice and attentive, and the drinks and food were on point. The bathroom is mixed gendered , so everyone has to enter and make use of it. Everything was good until the bill showed up, it's wasn't that the food or drinks were expensive, it was that they automatically threw in a 20% tip on a party of TWO people. I didn't read the fine print at first, but that note showed up the bill. I find it ridiculous that they force you to pay a %20 tip for a party of ONE and up. I guess I'll start this by saying welcome to Steinway Street! Honestly I am really disappointed with this place and this 3 star review is being generous! First off I tried to do the right thing by making a reservation since who can say no to $2 on a Taco Tuesday? Apparently that didn't work or help. We got there at 630 on the dot last Tuesday. The place is massive but it was also quite empty so it's a little sad that after being seated right away, we had to wait over 15 minutes for the waitress to come back and take our first order (drinks). A few things to point out for my star deduction: - there is a lack of attention and they had a lot of people walking around - we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since they "just opened" - on their instagram they promote happy hour BUT fail to mention that it's doesn't apply to Tuesdays since the tacos are $2 - if you were as quick to give us our check, you should have been as quick to take our order - tip is included and there is a credit card fee applied ... boo hoo! - we paid cash and had to go to the counter to ask for our change ... REALLY?? Come on! - if you're charging $20 for a drink, it should have alcohol ... mine was just blue dyed water Sadly, we won't be back because your service should be just as good as your food ... Wanted to come and check this spot out because of IG! This place has a lot of photo moments for your social medias. The esthetics are amazing!!! We get there and it was packed, there was a line waiting to be seated. It was a 30-45 mins wait and the hostess was the sweetest! She was so sweet, socialable and professional. This Mexican spot is definitely more style than substance. The decor is beautiful, the space is vibrant, colorful, and really well-designed, which makes it feel like a great place to hang out. But unfortunately, the food just doesn't live up to the hype. Everything we tried was just okay at best, nothing memorable, nothing that would make us want to come back. And the margaritas were really disappointing--weak, overly sweet, and lacked that fresh citrusy punch you expect. If you're going for the vibe and some Instagram pics, sure it's a nice spot. I went on a Thursday night for dinner and drinks with friends. I loved the decor of the restaurant. It was Karaoke night and a good crowd. The food wasn't great. We had the ribeye tacos and enchiladas. The tortilla was burnt and there was no steak in my tacos just pure fat. The enchiladas had a think layer of beans which was prerty for thr presentation but the beans were also burnt. The margaritas were on point. I had a margarita on the rocks. I came across this place by accident while driving down Steinway on a Sunday night. My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some margaritas and tacos. As soon as you enter, it's a world of fun colorful walls and Mexican cartoons. The restaurant is actually pretty big with plenty of seating for small and big parties. We ordered a frozen passion fruit margarita and a frozen mango margarita. We also ordered birria tacos and ribeye tacos. The margaritas were very tasty and strong. I definitely liked the barría tacos better because the meat was very tender and the consume was well seasoned. Although the tacos were pretty small, I would order them again just because of the flavor. The ribeye tacos were tasty as well but the meat was a little tough. We definitely came on a good night since they had a mariachi band performing and they played all the good hits. The service was pretty good, our waitress came around several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I will like to come back on taco Tuesday since they're promotion is $.99 tacos. I want to start by saying I sat at the bar and I only ordered drinks (2), so my review is based solely on that. Stumbled upon this beautiful place while shopping on Steinway, looking for a margarita. Inside is huge, bright, beautiful and a great place for photos. Sadly I noticed several people walk in, wait to be sat, wait to be waited on, and quickly leave. My service at the bar was sadly equivalent. Although, everyone when being helped was truly nice. The HH is not great as they even tell you the drinks are smaller at this time (lol), but they are exceptionally cute. Tip and a CC charge are automatically included, not cool!! The service was absolutely ATROCIOUS. After the runner brought us our food the server never returned to check up on me. Never offered to refill water or drinks. After I finished I was able to flag down my server and asked for a to go box but she completely forgot about it. The food runners were able to help me out and they were so much more helpful than the servers. The servers were absolutely useless. The ambiance? Seven dollars for a soda! I've never seen that price even in the city and this taco joint in Astoria is charging higher than Manhattan prices?! This is basically extortion. I like this place. I think it's more like 3.5 stars judging only the tacos and the drinks, but I did round up bc the manager was very accommodating with an issue that we had. So I'll start off by saying I was strictly looking for a Taco Tuesday spot, and I saw some TikToks about this one and decided to try it. The tacos are $1 each, of course they are tiny lol. They taste ok, but I honestly would prefer a normal sized well prepared taco for $3-4 with enough protein inside. The best ones are the el pastor and the steak. The drinks are amazing. Very good. They have a misleading ad about HH, it says "M-W, Th, and Fr" but it turns out there is no happy hour on Tuesdays because of the Taco Tuesday deal, which I understand in hindsight but could be an issue if you're not paying attention and get too carried away ordering drinks. The manager took care of it, which I think was very nice of him, but they should probably fix that ad. Overall, I think there are better places to go for Taco Tuesday specifically that include tacos and drinks altogether, but it's worth a shot to try this place out if you're in the area.
