A very lovely and romantic B&B with a staff that is both friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We stayed in the Glenn Falls room which is on the second floor and close to the outside balcony off the hall so it was easy to get in-and-out of the room, particularly since we came in late every night and didn't want to disturb anyone. The room itself was about the size of a typical room in a B&B, but was decorated very nicely, was exceptionally clean, had a good amount of closet space, never lacked enough hot water, and had a nice towel warmer in the bathroom. Each day, the room was cleaned and the towels replaced. It got fairly warm during our stay and thank goodness the room had a nice and reasonably quiet air conditioner. The king bed was a little on the hard side for us, but that's always a personal preference kind of thing.
The living room has a baby grand piano, and my fiancée played most mornings for an hour or so, which everyone enjoyed. It seemed just so "period authentic" to listen to a nice, live, piano!
Just off the living room is a small refrigerator that is always stocked with bottled water and juices, plus enough room for your own small items you might want to keep cold.
The Inn is located on a babbling river, and as soon as you step out of the car, the sound almost makes you instantaneously melt into the relaxing mode you want to be in. Pure aural magic.
The innkeeper, Ken, makes the most incredible breakfasts, a true artisan who takes as much care in presentation as he does with the wonderful tastes he creates. We absolutely love having a nice breakfast, and Ken knocked it out of the park every single morning. The entire breakfast service was gluten free, which included English Muffins, French Toast and Blueberry Pancakes. Ken makes his own English Muffins, and they are simply fantastic. For someone who doesn't really care about eating gluten free because the taste and texture are hard to replicate, his breakfasts were astoundingly good, better than any "gluten-loaded" I have had anywhere in recent memory.
Upon our arrival, Ken made us feel very welcome and gave us a nice tour of the Inn and a few quick pointers on things to do in the area. He also recommended we eat dinner at Vito Marcello's Italian Bistro. We did and it was absolutely fantastic (which I also highly recommend)!
All-in-all, a terrific B&B in a picturesque area with an exceptional innkeeper, an equally attentive and knowledgeable staff, complete with wonderful breakfasts within a comfortable and romantic accommodation. We will be back :) read more
