Very, very clean, newer hotel with super friendly front desk staff!…read more This was our 2nd stay - Boyfriend wanted to go shopping at Settlers Green for his birthday, so just like last year we spent one night here. We were randomly assigned room #324 which we thought was so funny because 3/24 is Boyfriend's birthdate so although we usually prefer being on the top floor, we decided to keep it. It was super quiet this time, and we never heard anyone walking upstairs. Very nice gym and breakfast area downstairs. They have a hot chocolate station with toppings and mini marshmallows! And make your own waffles station, again with various toppings, eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins etc. Rooms are spacious with a kitchen area with a full fridge, microwave, even a dishwasher and you can request a cooktop at front desk to cook in the room, probably very convenient when traveling with kids. We loved our stay here and will most likely be back when in North Conway!

Staff at check in was helpful, and did their best to get us checked in before 3pm. Rooms were clean, spacious, and in great condition. 30 minutes after we checked in, the front desk called us to see how things were. Free EV chargers in the parking lot. Breakfast was maintained by helpful staff who really took care of guests. Gym had a good selection of equipment.

Also, the rooms could use some TLC, the phone and hairdryer didn't work, the remote was dirty, my 5-year-old son found what looked like a sex toy in the headboard of the bed. Only a few video games in the 'arcade' were working for the visit. The halls were only vacuumed maybe once and the noise of people letting kids and teenagers run the halls was unacceptable. No one seemed to monitor this (parents should be accountable, but no one from the hotel helped let people know they should not be letting kids play hockey in the hall...YES they even had a net outside of our room!!!) When you have so many people coming in and out they should be cleaning the pools/hot tubs more. Also, if one breaks fixing it should be ASAP not 2-3 days. I have managed pools and spas; the condition AND temperature needs to be checked 4x a day and adjusted. I have a picture that I shared with the staff of the thick mountain of froth in the hot tub it's sad management didn't see it before guests did. The good things were the linens were clean, and they provided robes for adults and kids. The reviews I saw gave us much higher expectations than we experienced. Really disappointed with the overall cost of our family trip for what we got.

Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. I will be back to the Spruce Moose the next time I come to North Conway!

Avery and Jed are the most welcoming doggies, I was only with them for one night and I miss them terribly. The breakfast was excellent, coffee and tea are available all the time. My room was beautiful, the shower had great water pressure, and the lodge itself is super warm and cozy. I honestly felt like I was visiting relatives I just hadn't met yet.

DO NOT STAY HERE. We…read morebooked a non refundable room for another family member on our trip who then didn't come. Because it was non refundable and I was already charged, we had no choice but to suck it up and stay. The night employee, Megan, was the only decent thing about this hotel. She was polite and friendly and assisted us with checking in. When we got up to our room, the door was propped open. We went into the room only to discover it was DISGUSTING. The tables weren't wiped down, there was mold on the AC unit, that didn't even work. Our room never dropped below 72. The shower was all rusty, the blankets were stained and there was hair in one of the beds that clearly wasn't from us. Being 2 hours from home, it was 930 at night, we didn't have a choice but suck it up and stay, I was already out $300. The following morning we went to speak with a manager and met the "assistant general manager" who was nothing but an absolute BITCH. I've never met someone with so much attitude and disrespect. She wouldn't listen to our complaints, despite having pictures for proof, only stated she could comp us $50. She accused us of asking for a free night when that's not even what we asked for. We weren't asking for a free night, but more than just $50. She refused to provide us with the manager of the hotel's information. Only stated the manager was in Florida with a family funeral. She wouldn't answer any questions just stated that nothing was her fault. I told her that the room conditions certainly weren't our fault and that is on the hotel. She rolled her eyes. Would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. I've already filed a complaint with corporate, who provided me with the email for the manager and I will be following up with them as well.

The breakfast had a nice variety of selections and the guy working at breakfast was very friendly. However, the whole hotel (room, common areas, pool) seemed a little worn out and almost dingy. They seem to have a very long renovation process going. Also, all of the online resources and communications indicate that check-in is at 3:00, but the hotel states it is at 4:00, which I was very curtly informed of when I called to check in on our room around 2:45. You'd think that this would be an easy thing to fix. Overall, our stay was fine for one night, but for the price we paid, I would expect a little more and will likely look around at other options if we return to the area.

Parking was ample but can be a creepy at night since it's a little bit of a walk to the hotel (I always worry about bears lol). The room was average sized. You're right in the middle of everything, yet set back from the road, which is nice. The view out the window was beautiful. We got upgraded to a room with a little extra room with 2 twin beds, which came in handy when my hubby wanted to sleep but I was still up watching TV or reading. I just went into the other room. I actually like the 'retro' feel of this place. So sick of the cookie cutter, boring, cold feel of most hotels these days. That being said, I hope they put some care into this hotel. The sink and tub nozzles were near impossible to pull out! It was so hard to pull them out that anyone with arthritis would never be able to operate the bathroom sink and tub. The toilet was funky in that you had to hold the latch down for about 30 seconds to get it to flush. Very annoying. The indoor pool was pretty gross. There was like a black mold around the edges and you could see the dirt on the bottom .. my husband was excited to swim in the pool, but looked at it and said 'nope'!! Yeah, the parking lot is a bit far, and you have to unload and walk up stairs with all your stuff if you're on the 2nd floor, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The breakfast was good. And the price was reasonable. If you don't want to spend $350 a night for a hotel in N. Conway during ski season, this place is doable. We paid about $150 a night. You can get nit picky about this place... hopefully, the owners will fix some of the problems. Hubby wasn't a fan, but I'd stay here again.
