Their gorgeous house is model after a Southern style mansion set on over 60+ acres of land. The views of Lake Wentworth and Winnipesaukee are breath taking. The breakfast was excellent. Even had fresh local scones from the secret bakery in Wolfeboro. One thing should be mentioned. They have 6 dogs on the property. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. You don't have to worry about them going into your room. All in all, this place is great. I would highly recommend Lake View Inn. It's the perfect lake regions B & B.

When you wake up, you are treated to a cooked-to-order breakfast made with fresh ingredients from the neighboring farm. The views are incredible from this lovely home, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Bob and Ruth, we can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed here for two days on Veteran's Day weekend. The owner is an ex-military…read morewife, and all the customers that weekend were vets. We stayed in the Brook Bridge room and would gladly do so again. The room is gorgeous and spacious, with an entryway with a desk and a door to the garden area, followed by the bedroom and bath. The bed was a king size and the mattress very comfortable. The bath had plenty of hot water. Though we brought our own toiletries, they had the usual things in the room (shampoo, conditioner, soap, cotton puffs, Q-tips), plus bath salt. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room with supplies for coffee. If you want something special, bring some K-cups along. The owner is congenial and makes you feel right at home...a real hostess. There are cookies and soda in the registration area, plus a microwave, a shared (among all the guests) mini fridge, and an electric kettle and teas. I brought some packets of hot chocolate and made it there in the morning. The breakfast is excellent. Remember, it's a bed and breakfast, so the owner is making the same breakfast for everyone, save food-isms. We had a breakfast sandwich the first morning (poached eggs, cheese (Gouda, I believe, but I could be wrong), spinach leaves, tomato, roasted English muffins...served with fresh fruit and grilled pineapple. The fresh fruit was originally supposed to include something I was allergic to, so the owner left out that ingredient for everyone to avoid cross-contamination. The second morning was French toast with poached pears and fresh blueberries. She doesn't put milk out, since most people don't drink it for breakfast these days, but ask if you want it. She'll pour you a glass! The first night we were there, my husband ordered up a couple of surprises: flowers in the room (they were lovely!) and a meat and cheese plate that was wonderful. There were three types of cheese, one meat, a hot pepper jelly, two types of crackers, and fresh seedless grapes. The jelly was so good, I asked for the name so I could buy some more for my husband. I also purchased a cookbook there, and it has some great recipes in it. The only negative I had about the place was that the site said there was a DVD player in the rooms, so I brought along some movies to watch with my husband in the evening. It turns out there was no DVD player, but they do have extensive cable, so we still had something to watch when we wanted to relax in the room.

Finding a 3 night rental in the summer on Sebago Lake is a tough fete but Steve got us in. Thanks…read moreSteve! We stayed at the Waterview Cottage- the cottage closest to the lake. I can say if you are looking for rustic and basic this is for you. We also thought it was a great price! The layout: The owner lives in the office next to the private beach. The lodge is across the street from the public beach (the lodge has a rec room that everyone can use... piano, foosball table, games, books, etc... My daughter liked it a lot!) There is a road that take you through the property that is lined with cottages. Private beach: has an area roped off just for swimming. There are plastic reclining lawn chairs left out for patrons to use- there were probably about a dozen. Beware- rock city when you enter then you get to sand. They do have 2 canoe's and 2 paddleboats that are available for use plus life jackets too! Added plus! We had the place all to ourselves on an August Saturday morning. Quite pleasant. The cottage we stayed in was a 2 bedroom. The master had a queen bed and we had a small 2nd bedroom with two bunk beds (with really nice mattress'.) My first thought walking in was this place is immaculate! Well kept! We had the basics... beds, fridge, stove, toaster, plates, pans, and towels. It's cozy. We had a nice enclosed deck with a table and a desk. I loved the clothes line- we used it everyday! We also had a charcoal grill available at our cottage. (Don't buy charcoal the owner said lots of people leave it behind so he hooked us up-lighter fluid too!) My suggestion of things to bring: (depending on how long you stay) Garbage bags sponge aluminum foil (helped us a lot in cooking) large knives (to cut/chop with) if you have kids there were no plastic cups I have to tell you if you are looked to be out in the middle of nowhere- this isn't the place for you! The road is really busy even late into the evening. We were on the front porch at midnight and cars were still travelling through- and the headlights hit right into our porch table area. But taking into consideration how close we were to the water and having to carry the kids stuff there- it was good for us to be close. PLUS there is a general store (Gemmes) a very short walk away so it was easy to get there with a child. So we really did like the cottage and it's location. Our only real complaint... the windows are old and swollen frames. The locks on the windows didn't really work. And the room with the most windows... the bunk bed area! I know it's Maine but as a parent I always like safety and security for my child. On top of that- the main cottage door lock did not fit! The owner and his son were quite the duo! Super laid back (literally walks around barefoot all the time) and funny! The son... his hat was on point!

A great place to stay on a wonderfully quiet stretch of Sebago Lake. RTL is run by a family that…read morelives directly on the water. This property is across the road from the lake and is a perfect getaway. The cabins are a bit run down, but it all feels just right. We stayed in the Oakleaf which is the smallest of the cottages. It had a screened in porch, kitchenette, and private bath. Canoes and a paddleboat are available for free for guests. There is a bonfire pit in the common grass area with plenty of seating. For $80 per night, I can't imagine a better deal. A couple of notes if you are planning a visit: 1) You need to send in a 50% deposit by check to reserve your spot. 2) Don't be put off if you don't get through right away, just leave a message and someone will call you back. 3) USE MAPQUEST TO LOCATE RTL. GOOGLE MAPS HAS IT MARKED INCORRECTLY!!!
