first time here with my wife and son . We were really taken back the natural beauty of grounds : from the property landscaping to the lake as a backdrop. the staff were all warm, genuine and friendly. We interacted with Scott quite often and he made us feel welcome , even as a first timers. Another review mentioned feeling left out of the vibe as a first-timer; we experienced the opposite as all the staff and guests were very affable the cabin (Birch) was very clean and spacious. we really appreciated the daily delivery of firewood to the cabin . the beds were comfortable but are likely getting close to needing replacement . the shower pressure is incredible and having two sinks is a huge plus. only thing missing was a filtered water dispenser in the room...would have saved many trips to the main lodge for filtered water!adding 1-2 puzzles to the book shelf would have been welcome as their was only one to borrow for the whole property at the time we were there The meals were good with the service bordering on a bit casual . several times, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for morning coffee or the staff taking breakfast orders which was strange as it didn't seem to busy in the front of the house . the options were varied and the amount of food was enough to be comfortably full All the activities we participated in were super fun (kayak tour, motor boat rental, hiking, tennis, pickleball water coloring, bingo, wildlife lecture ). The outdoor Monday cocktail hour was fantastic - gratis drinks at sunset on the patio. Typically, the resort schedules two activities per day which is great but three would have filled up the day a bit better The only complaint we had is their drink policy . i knew alcohol was not included but its strange to charge for soda when you are serving steaks , scallops and lobsters as part of the rate - it's a huge mismatch . This how they phrase their drink policy: "Drinks from the bar are sold separately and are not included in the all-inclusive rate" when most people think of "drinks from the bar" they don't consider soda to be part of that it's not a big deal - $30-40 over a few days but it's the poor communication that irks me as it seems ?intentionally? misleading read more

Spent the weekend here for a wedding and I must say, it was by far the best experience I've had at an outdoor wedding! Firstly, all boats, kayaks, canoes, etc were available for our use as we pleased. There was a boat tour at an extra charge, but worth it! Secondly, The staff ensured everyone was content at all times. They were courteous, happy, helpful! Thirdly, the cabins were clean, spacious, GORGEOUS! And comfy of course. Lastly, the reception was amazing! The same staff worked the bar and they were great! I honestly can't begin to explain how peaceful, beautiful, harmonizing this place was. I wish I could relive this weekend now that it's December and 20 degrees out! CANT WAIT TO GO BACK SOMEDAY! This is all based on my experience as a guest of a wedding. I would rate Migis Lodge 10/10 stars if possible. Growing up my husband spent his summers at Migis and has always talked highly of this quintessential Maine spot. This year I called looking for a quick getaway and was lucky enough to reserve a cabin. I have called during previous summers and haven't been as lucky. I'm guessing my ability to book quickly this year was in part due to COVID. Nonetheless, Peggy (a wonderful employee of Migis who manages reservations) helped decide what cabin would be best. She even looked up my husband's family and their booking history to let me know where they had stayed before. I've seen comments about the cost and I was hesitant as well. That being said, after going and experiencing Migis Lodge I will never question the cost again. The cost is completely justified with what is included within your stay. COVID has impacted so many local business and has really been devastating to Maine's tourism. Migis has taken safety measures seriously. Young children seen scattered around the property all wearing masks without hesitation. Staff all compliant and washing hands often. Migis also left complimentary Migis themed masks and hand sanitizer. Never once did I feel uncomfortable. Our cabin was spotless when we arrived. Fresh flowers, clean white sheets, a stocked fire, and a bottle of champagne for my birthday. I've never seen a more well maintained property. Everything has its place and is in order. The property looks like a story book. Dinner was outside and the food was incredible. The food in itself is worth the stay. 5 stars. I would recommend bringing a tumbler or water bottle. There is a water station in the main lodge. If you don't have your own cup you can borrow a plastic cup or purchase a water bottle. I wish they had a few more water stations throughout the property. The ice was great to have around because we brought a small cooler with snacks. Unlimited ice upon request at the main lodge. The staff are all awesome. Young, hardworking, and friendly kids. They are observant and notice when you need something. I'm already planning my next trip. read more

"Migas" is Abenaki and means "a place to steal away and rest" and our group of 14 long time college friends could gave done that, but instead we enjoyed as many activities as we could squeeze in our few days at Migas. Boat rides, shuffle board, corn hole, hiking around, disc golf...on and on. Delicious food, comfortable rooms, wood fires, attentive service. We loved it! I got married at Migis Lodge in June and can't say enough great things. It is somehow rustic yet luxurious with insanely comfortable beds, gorgeous views across the lake out to the islands, open access to all of the boats and facilities, and SO MUCH DELICIOUS FOOD. You can tell that the helpful staff loves working there. I would do it all again in a heartbeat, it was that awesome. I had countless guests tell me it was the best wedding they have been to in their life. :-) The only inconvenience is that they do not accept credit cards so you need to remind everyone ahead of time to come prepared. I highly recommend Migis - we couldn't find another outdoor wedding venue that compared for a Maine destination wedding where everyone could relax and get to know each other. I went here just for dinner, not as a guest. They don't advertise that you can go for just a meal, but I live nearby and it is a great place to bring out of town friends to impress. We went for a Saturday night buffet; $45 a person (alcohol extra). We had a server for wine and to answer questions, but we still had to go up to the Buffet. This was actually a plus because the spread was great and I didn't feel guilty about getting seconds: lobster tails, prime rib, lots of seafood and salads. Key lime pie and lots of cookies for dessert. Delicious! Tips: I had to make a reservation because I am not a normal guest. We were put "in the back" of the dining room but still had a pretty good view of the lake and could hang out on their beautiful porch. - Dress code is a must. Men are required to wear jackets, tie optional. It's great and a bit surreal that places like this still exist - Cash or check ONLY. A little weird, but they push for "old fashioned" Also, we could have come earlier to pay for cocktails on the porch, and we were invited to stick around for a 9:30 pm fireworks show! I'm not sure if that happens every day though... Overall, a great local place to treat yourself or friends with very good food and old-fashioned, lake atmosphere. read more

What an amazing, scenic spot, with incredibly attentive staff and loads of outdoor activities to take part in. It's like camp for adults (and kids). The cabins are a great combination of rustic and luxe. The food flows freely and is worthy of any awarded restaurant. My girlfriend, daughter and I went for a long weekend. We all quickly made friends who we spent time with throughout our stay. The place is incredibly safe for children to roam around and feel independent. Everyone watches out for each other's children. Special thanks to Scott the manager who offered up his own car with a driver to take us to the airport after we forgot to order a car service. The magic of Migis hits you when you're sunning on a float after a swim or skimming across the water on water skis. You feel 7 years old without a care in the world at summer camp. Except the food is delicious and you can drink as an adult. Great business model as activities are included in the expensive nightly rate. Guests don't have to sign out kayaks, canoes, paddle boards or sailboats. There's no release forms to sign or specific times to return equipment. Just grab and go. The downside (for me) is that this is a Family Resort. Read: tons of kids everywhere. They're running rampant like banchees because parents are on vacation, too. This means they'll bash into your shins to get to the cookies before you and cut in line when you're waiting to waterski. Not a great romantic getaway for child free couples like us. I would worship Migis if they had Adults Only week or a No-Children-Under-12 week. If that's scheduled, I'm in. Please note two weird things: they Do Not accept credit cards and a 15% service fee will be added, like it or not. read more

We were at the Migis for 4 days. Everything was great, whether is outstanding. When we found out that there is no key to lock our room while nobody is in, we were assured that this is very safe place. After having such a good time during these 4 days, on our way back to home my significant half discovered that she left her white gold earrings in the room, right on top of large dresser near the lamp. I immediately called back to service desk and explained situation. First she said that housekeepers left for a day (1 hour after checking out?), which already seamed to me suspicious. Then she told me that they'd call me back in few minutes. After 15 minutes of waiting in the car parked on the carb, I was told that there was nothing found in the room and they will talk to housekeepers next morning and let me know. Morning call told us that no one ever seen nothing. We are really disappointed. read more

My cousin was married at Migis recently, and we absolutely loved it. Our three bedroom cabin, "South Wind" featured decks with a lake view on both the first and second floors. My husband attended a conference here. The place was reserved just for the attendees. We had never been to Maine and this was a wonderful place to experience the beauty of the Maine countryside. The staff were extremely attentive. The weather was not kind--running 40 degrees. In spite of this, the staff had the outdoor fitness center, water sports (boat/canoe/kayak, tennis courts all available. The food was good---the blueberry pancakes and french toast with real maple syrup were winners. They will pack you a lunch if you go on a hike, of which there are many on the property. Note: they have a dress code for dinner which luckily we were not subjected to. The cabins varied in size and lighting--so take the time to investigate. read more

We recently spent a week at Migis having a family reunion. When I returned and my friends asked about the trip, my standard repy was "I don't know how it could have gone better." The group at Migis did everything I could think of to make it an unbelievable week. Starting with making the reservation process during which Robyn worked diligently to fit our group of 70 into the right cabins and have everything that was needed. Then upon our arrival the owners and staff attended to every request including moving flower pots to make it easier for my 93 year old mother to use the handrails at the lodge, making some croissants for one of my sister when it they were not on the menu, and just generally providing great accommodations and an atmosphere that made it impossible not to have fun. Several of the younger family members (3-4 yrs old) cried when at the end of the week when they learned we had to leave. Shout out to Mary for taking all the great family photos and to Jed for all his attention and getting carts to take my mother back to the lodge from lunch.
