Our…read morehosts Gretchen and Keith were warm and friendly and we felt at ease with them in their gorgeous historic home. We stayed in the "Vintage" room which was spacious and yet cozy. The bed was very comfortable. We were able to open the large bedroom window and feel the lovely cool Maine air. The adjacent shared bathroom was large and so luxurious with its double sinks. The home is beautifully decorated with a variety of antiques and special touches. The library and sitting room common areas seemed both stately and comfortable at the same time. The entire home was clean and inviting. A scrumptious homemade breakfast was the icing on the cake! Wonderful. The wraparound porch is large and the garden area and is calming and serene. The flowers around the home are magnificent. There is also a raised screened in porch area off the kitchen to relax in. The home is close to Sebago lake and the New Hampshire border and you can easily walk to the center of town to do some antique shopping or eat at Krista's restaurant. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Perkins House and plan to return. 4.75 stars.

The house was beautiful and made me feel secure with the safety features and welcoming owners. Definitely worth a trip out to stay. The area is quiet and relaxing. It's also super close to Massachusetts or you could go to several other places in Maine. Another bonus was the coffee and great food. They were amazing cooks and created their own version of an eggs Benedict. Yum! I wish I had taken a pic of the coffee area! It was similar to a coffee bar at a gas station with so many options and flavors. You can find them on Priceline too. Thanks for a wonderful night!

She just bought the business this spring and she is doing a great job running the place. My fave part of the inn was this great porch overlooking the yard. It was so peaceful and we sat out there for several hours. Sadly it rained the whole time we were there but we stayed nice and dry on the porch and relaxed listening to the rain on the roof. The breakfast was so good. We had so many things to eat and everything was delish. Mariah also directed us to a local running trail that was very close by - which was perfect for us (even tho it was raining). Lastly - we met so many awesome people that were also staying there from all over the world. Had great conversations at night and also the next morning at breakfast. Def hit this B&B up if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

After a long day of skiing, we enjoyed the fireplace and the family games. There's also a lovely library with all updated furniture. There's a lovely sunroom that we would love to have used if the weather was warmer! We also enjoyed the morning breakfast with the host and other guests. The breakfast had everything you could possibly want including quiche's meats, French toast, fruits, yogurt, parfait and juices. It worked out real well for us!

Most of the hotels in the downtown Portland area do require you pay for parking overnight, the perk with this hotel was you could self park in the garage across the street- and then have the fee added to your bill. I personally would rather we park our own car and be able to go as we please- you can leave and come back and there is no additional charge. It is an easy walk to everything even though it is slightly less centralized but everything is closer than it seems. Front desk staff was friendly and we hung out at the bar that night after getting dinner out- shout out to Greg who was bartending, and has apparently been for many years. He was EXCELLENT. He knew some patrons who stopped at the bar and came in once a year- but had for many years, he was THAT GOOD at remembering names and faces- not to mention he made a bangin' sangria from scratch for me and perfect old fashioned for my husband. He was also super knowledgeable and friendly. We would go back just to hang out with him haha Our room was pretty big, two TVs (one was tinted purple and seemed to be dying) and the suite with separate rooms and kitchen- we didn't book anything fancy. Our view was of the interior terrace they had, and for one night that's fine. Breakfast was a typical Marriot hotel breakfast. It was good. I would stay here again, but nothing super special to rave about. Clean and comfy beds is what matters the most.
