    Everywhere you look, stains.

What a terrible experience for me and my girlfriend. The worst motel I've ever stayed in. Walk in to the front desk - clerk is very erratic but initially friendly. Office kinda smells like cashew curry, not bad at all. Get our keys to the room and walk into a cloud of odor...like being punched in the nose by a million different things at once. The ceiling has multiple stains. I go to the bathroom and find a different, somehow more powerful smell. It's not chemicals, and it's not a clean smell. It's like someone poured out cheap perfume to try to hide something terrible. I use the toilet and find a weird brown/red smudge on it, despite it having a "Sanitized" paper wrapper on it, and the floor is sticky. I shouldn't have removed my shoes. Open the window all the way and blast the AC, hoping that will air it out while we get dinner. I brew a coffee and leave it as an air freshener. I joke that we should get some fish to microwave in the room to make it more bearable. Notice upon leaving that a lock is broken off the door. When we come back an hour later - somehow the smell is stronger. Where does it come from? I can't even breathe right. How is this possible? Call the front desk to complain...and he tells us he doesn't understand and I'm pretty sure hangs up on us. Time to walk around and talk to him I guess. We go and tell him there is a very strong odor in the room, that I have alergies and that I can't breathe properly and ask what can be done about it. Can we have a fan? Can he get us a replacement room? Do all the rooms smell like this? What's with the lock? He becomes IMMEDIATELY hostile, in a way that made me very alert and on edge. He insists there is NOTHING that can be done (can't even offer us a fan for the window?) and that nobody gets a refund, especially because "We had booked through a third party". Except we didn't, we made sure to do it directly to avoid problems. After a few tense seconds at his computer... he admits to this. He then changed his excuse - now it was because we had spent 2 hours in the room. That was completely a lie. I called his bluff and asked if there was a manager or owner I could speak with. He YELLS at me, insisting that he is the manager. I can't help but laugh. This whole thing is ridiculous. He gets even louder and yells "is that funny to you?!". Yes, it is. The room smells and you know it, that's why you're so defensive. I honestly thought at this point he might get up from his desk and try to fight me. I mention that there must be cameras on the property, that I have a dashcam, and that I'd be contacting the owners. I told him I would rather sleep in my car and that we're leaving. He continues to be extremely hostile and even attempts to insult me. I was wearing a hat for the movie "The Mask" and as I was leaving the office he yells "Don't forget to wear a mask!". The joke doesn't land but I get he was trying to be hateful in some way. Honestly, it was pathetic. This guy has serious anger problems. Why on earth he's in customer service is beyond me. He's lucky I was able to remain calm even though he tried goading me. He's going to get himself into trouble some day if he keeps it up. We go to the room and I take a video of the room and me exiting - feeling like if I don't that the desk clerk might come in behind us, trash the place and claim we are liable. When I go to return the keys I wanted to hand them directly to him, and when I did he had done a complete 180. Must've realized he's in for some trouble when the real boss shows up. Maybe he took his medicine. Either way he was now extremely apologetic and offered a potential solution. He wants to run an ozonator that he says will take "about 45 minutes" and we will have to vacate the room during this time, and he will call when it's done. I know that even if it solved the smell, that the room would not even be physically safe to occupy for at least 2 hours after starting the machine. How does this not constitute some sort of reimbursement? I tell him that I'm glad he's at least offering to do something and give him one of our keys so he can run the machine. We drive a few blocks away and sit in the car for half an hour...and we both feel like we can still smell it. We decide theres no way we are staying there and start the long drive back home. He calls us 2 hours later and leaves a message to tell us it's safe and that he hopes to hear from us before the office closes - in 7 minutes. Unbelievable. Hopefully whoever comes in after us won't have to suffocate. Stay literally anywhere else. If this place is the cheapest place, go buy a tent and sleep next to a dumpster. We paid $183.37 for "one night". I don't expect to see any returned.

Great deal for a great spot. Very clean, recently remodeled. Seems like all new sheets, bedding, completely redone bathroom, etc. The 2 bed room has a microwave, mini fridge with freezer, small coffee maker, and TV. Bathroom has bar soap, shampoo, and make up remover wipes. Friendly office. They offer free coffee and juice when the office is open.

Not fancy but a close walk to downtown North Conway. No issues with the room and check in was easy.

First, I want to genuinely commend Chris, who went above and beyond and appeared to be one of the only consistent staff members throughout our stay. He was responsible for cooking breakfast, bartending, cleaning, and general hotel upkeep. We were told he had worked 10 days in a row, which speaks volumes about how severely understaffed this property was. His effort was appreciated--but no employee should be carrying an entire hotel. Because of the staffing shortages, cleanliness and maintenance suffered significantly. Several rooms--including one we reserved--were clearly neglected. A chair in one room was covered in marker scribbles, trash cans had no plastic liners, and housekeeping was unable to provide daily room refreshes. For the price paid, daily cleaning and upkeep should be standard. The amenities were especially disappointing. The hot tub was visibly dirty, with sludge and foam present, making it unusable. To make matters worse, all of the outdoor chairs appeared to have been carelessly thrown into a sloppy pile next to the hot tub, completely ruining the area. It looked unkempt, uninviting, and poorly managed--definitely not a space anyone would want to relax in or take photos near. The bar was technically open, but with so few employees, getting a drink involved long wait times, making the experience frustrating rather than enjoyable. Breakfast also fell far below expectations. The buffet was extremely basic and overcrowded, with only ONE waffle machine for a very large number of guests and minimal food option Overall, the cost of this stay did not align with the condition, cleanliness, service availability, or amenities provided. This is not a reflection of the hardworking staff--especially Chris--but rather a serious operational and staffing failure. Until these issues are addressed, this property does not meet expectations for a Marriott-branded hotel.

Otherwise, it's fairly barebones and minimalistic, but very clean. The beds were clean and reasonably comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast at this location but it looked like the usual Fairfield breakfast with cereal, yogurt, waffles, and a couple of hot items (eggs, breakfast meat). The dining area is large and spacious and looked well-maintained. It's a nice touch to have a skimobile in front of the hotel as homage to the past Mount Cranmore resort area that I used to vacation frequently. The staff in front was pretty polite and friendly, though I did not have to interact with them very much. This is a good choice if you wanted a hotel closer to the North Conway Village, though you probably still would have to drive or bike there.

We were randomly assigned room #324 which we thought was so funny because 3/24 is Boyfriend's birthdate so although we usually prefer being on the top floor, we decided to keep it. It was super quiet this time, and we never heard anyone walking upstairs. Very nice gym and breakfast area downstairs. They have a hot chocolate station with toppings and mini marshmallows! And make your own waffles station, again with various toppings, eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins etc. Rooms are spacious with a kitchen area with a full fridge, microwave, even a dishwasher and you can request a cooktop at front desk to cook in the room, probably very convenient when traveling with kids. Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie.
