Picture this: It's a cozy Saturday evening; the kind you chill with friends on. Or in our case, a cousin once removed along with her brand new hubby. That's right. At long last, we finally scored a long awaited double date with someone besides my bestie and her hubs. Not that they aren't still totally awesome or anything. But I was beginning to wonder if my breath stunk or something. Anywho, along comes Riverside Grille. Which, upon first glance and much to our shock and amazement, was more desolate than school in summertime. Don't let the lackluster crowd deter you though. This place was certainly worth the impromptu visit. We were looking for some easy going casual family dining that only New England could deliver. And right from the decorum, I could tell we were in good hands. Service was also quite accommodating considering we were, what....1 of 3 tables in there at the time(?). Nevertheless, the food ranged from decent to pretty damn good. With that, we'll get right into it. Caesar salad: Not a bad way to start a casual New England dinner. I only wish they had dressed the lettuce a bit more. Not to the point of rendering it into soggy spinach, mind you. Just....more than the splash of Caesar dressing that was there. 7 out of 10. Buffalo wings: Honestly, I was surprised by these wonders! This is gonna sound wicked biased, but very few places up here can come close to meeting or exceeding the buffalo wings wifey makes for us at home. These guys were seasoned well beyond just relying on the sauce alone. The bleu cheese was also a great compliment to the spicy goodness. 9 out of 10, would highly recommend! Fish n' chips: Okay. A little background here; I was really torn between ordering this versus the broiled haddock. In hindsight, I kinda wish I had gone with the latter because fish n' chips can be hit or miss, depending on how they're done. This one was okay, though I can't tell if the piece of fish they used was just hella small or if it was the batter that was throwing me off. In either case, it seemed thinner than most fried cod or haddock I've had up there. This tends to result in the end pieces of fish being slightly overcooked whilst the center was mostly fine. I dunno. It only makes me wonder how their broiled haddock would have turned out. Grading on a curve, I'll give this one a 7 out of 10. All said, I would definitely return here and try several other items on the menu, actually. I already mentioned one, but another that I'm curious about is their steak & cheese. Sadly, it'll have to wait till I happen to be back in the neighborhood again, given the 40ish minute drive from our place. For now, though, I'm giving Riverside Grille 4 beautifully seasoned buffalo wings with creamy bleu cheese out of 5. read more

Great place for takeout! A group of us ordered over the weekend, surprised it was timely and not packed for a Saturday. We all ordered the "mixed grille" with varying sides/preferences. AMAZING food, well seasoned, portions and for a great price! Will surely be returning back for another takeout night or in person! read more

I love locally. My sister visited from out of town. She wanted a close by variety menu place. So we ventured here. We love the decor and the view of the river. The server (bartender?) was nice but not knowledgeable and was not attentive. Again, small place that really shows enthusiasm and attentiveness to the local bar stool patrons. It took a very long time to get our food. My sister got the Tuscan Chicken special and it was delicious.( and she's fussy)! I just got their corn chowder soup and it was very good. Someone took over our service as our original server was busy talking at the bar. The person who took over was very accommodating and cared about our experience. We have eaten here a few times now. All times were excellent. The menu is diverse and there are many unique items. The home made desserts are worth saving room for. The best peanut butter pie I've ever had. (Called a peanut butter cup on the specials board) I like the noodle bowl, the poke bowl, the huevos rancheros for brunch (exceptional), and the steak tips. been by here so many times and it kept changing....this time it seemed to have settled in a little so we gave it a try...smallish actually with a locals (i think) bar in the front and a main area or two, upstair and side wards dining area...we were up the step with a somewhat view of the riverside's river and the rain which was pretty steady today...service was pleasant...drinks were good and as ordered...menu interesting with some variety... we had the honey mustard wrap, very good and the bahn mi which was a little different than i expected, but pretty good...probably would not get it again, but overall the food was good and the onion rings excellent...liked it here so we will be back!!! read more

This is a real nice looking restaurant, and the waitresses were excellent. The nachos were probably the best I've had in a long time. My reason for not giving it five stars is unfortunately it was the worst fish tacos I've ever had They were a tiny little nugget of a hard haddock. It was not crispy nice pieces of haddock. This is a "not again" place for us, but it wasn't horrible. We just try to only revisit the really good ones, not the so-so. This place has been many restaurants over the years. The layout is odd and no one has done anything about that still. You almost always get sat in the upper hall where the backs the chairs from table to table meet creating a very tight space. The ambience in that upper hall is lacking. Old photos and fixtures. A large window that isn't washed daily. It's okay but not great. Our server was bubbly and kind but only a subpar server. I ordered a hard cider and she didn't bring a glass, just brought me a can. I ordered ramen and she didn't bring a spoon. How am I supposed to eat soup or drink broth without a spoon? We asked for 2 minutes on the menu and she forgot us for 10+. She brought my husbands side salad with his entree. The food was only okay. Actually, I didn't like it at all, but I'm trying to be nice. I ordered ramen. It was missing the bean sprouts. It does say soy, but the soy sauce is so strong it like that's the only thing in the broth. I didn't like the way the chicken was cut into cubes vs strips. I didn't like the texture of the noodles. I wanted more cabbage. I didn't care for it and the server had told me it was the best. I was bummed. My husband got the steak tips. These are not tips. It's more like 4 small steaks. It was large chunks of meat and the marinade was weak. The whole point of tips is that they are smaller and more meat can absorb the marinade. Not the case here. Fries are plain, no seasoning and tasteless. That was really sad. I love a good fry. These were not it. Why don't some places season the fries?? I don't get it. We did not love the food so did not bother trying dessert. The bathrooms weren't filthy but not sparkling. Fine for a friends house but for a restaurant I want a step up. Overall it's a forgettable place. Not so awful you hate it but nothing you want to do again. At least that was our experience. The weekend menu was a plus, as it wasn't on their website. The brunch was great Huevos Ranchero was very good, guacamole, scrambled eggs, potatoes can't go wrong. Lots of choices. Wife had crispy chicken and waffles, very good, not greasy at all. Samantha was very informative, friendly and navigated a large party and us without missing a beat. Riverside Grille opened up just a couple of weeks ago in New Boston, in the building formerly occupied by The Chef, and before that, Sliders. It is a lovely new addition to New Boston, and the menu is classic American fare like burgers/sandwiches/wraps, flatbreads, a wide range of appetizers, and entrees in a range of steak, chicken, and seafood. They offer dine in and take out. I stopped in for lunch which they currently only do on weekends when they open at 11. Other days (except Mondays) they open at 4 for dinner. They don't currently have their hours posted anywhere on their website or Facebook (that I could find). I only figured it out by poking around in the comment section of a facebook post. I was hoping to try the steak tips for lunch but our server told us that the whole entrée section of the menu is unavailable during lunch hours. Luckily there were many other things that sounded good, so it was easy to choose something else. Fish Tacos-I wouldn't get these again. Nothing terrible, but the pineapple sriracha aioli was way too sweet for me and the ratio of slaw and haddock was disproportionate for me. Nachos with Chicken- so pretty and colorful! The chips were great and tasted freshly made. There is a nice variety of toppings and the salsa and sour cream come on the side. Service was very friendly and I heard the staff talking to other tables, answering all questions and making recommendations about things. I'd love to come back for dinner and try an entrée and a cocktail (the cocktail menu looks fantastic.) The food is so nicely presented and the other dishes I saw going to other tables looked so cute in baskets. Overall, such a great addition to New Boston and I look forward to going back. read more

Review- our waitress was very sweet and attentive (we went right when they opened) it was clean. 1 downfall was the diaper changing table was on the ground, not sure why...but I wouldn't be changing my baby on a restaurant floor. Drinks- my cousin had an old fashioned, and it was served in a tall cup with A LOT of ice (if you drink them it should be strong in a small glass with only a ice ball or not a lot of ice) my drink was good, it was like a lemonade with whiskey Food- cousin got the macaroni with short rib (I think) macaroni was lacking in the flavor department I had souther fried chicken sandwich and there's no complaints My daughter had chicken tenders and fries (hard to mess up) Brownie sundae and she was happy 7/10 read more

My husband and I have visited Riverside a few times now. We are always greeted with friendly accommodating faces. There is usually a wait, however, they have a small bar area with a cozy lounge area with fireplace in cooler months. The cocktails are very good and worth the money. The food is regular pub type food. The corn chowder is delicious. The salads are fresh. The sandwiches are very very good and very reasonable in price. It seems to be a family affair but it works for this place. Stop by, sit outside if you want and enjoy the countryside of Goffstown/New Boston. It's well worth it.. read more

Most of the locals in the area know that this building is unfortunately a revolving door of restauranteurs trying to make their mark. Riverside Grille is the latest effort and needs to address some shortcomings if they are going to stick around. My wife and I have gone twice so far. Our first trip we went for dinner shortly after they'd opened. It was early in Friday evening and the restaurant was busy and full. Staff were friendly and attentive and we got some appetizers and cocktails right away. The drinks were interesting and strong (bartender did NOT cut corners). We munched on the Espinaca Dip which was creamy and flavorful and served with good crispy apparently homemade nacho chips. Our entrees arrived quickly, and we didn't find ourselves waiting. I had their River Burger which was properly grilled med-rare. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich which was also crispy and flavorful and served with a hot honey dressing. This first visit showed promise that they were capable of making good food, delivering good service and keeping things interesting. Our second visit came several months later, and was a less fortunate experience. We arrived around 5 on a Saturday and apart from a small gathering at the bar the place was mostly empty. The hostess was pleasant and welcoming and as able to accommodate us and get a table set up for our slightly larger party right away. Again the server arrived quickly and got our drink order, but not much appeared to have been updated since our first visit (noted that the "Seasonal Cocktail" was still a "Spring Drink" in August). The bartender had not lost their touch though, and the drinks were tasty and strong. Our server took our dinner orders, and then we waited. And waited. And waited. After about 30 minutes our group started to get restless, and though we were enjoying our company and time together, some were starting to get hungry. After another 15 minutes, we saw our server again who wanted to check on us and make sure we didn't need any more drinks. We got some refills, and it would be another 15 minutes...an hour from when we sat down that our food started to arrive. The food was a mixed bag. Again, the burger was perfectly executed and fries were crisp and hot. The Cobb salad was formidable, and full of flavor, and the crispy Thai chicken strips were spicy and nicely flavored. Nachos in the other hand we're bland, stale, and cold enough to where the cheese had achieved room temperature, not much excitement here and served with meager portions of condiments. We also ordered a Poke Bowl with seared tuna. The menu offered the option of tuna raw, or seared, however the server couldn't answer whether the tuna was sushi grade or not, so I opted to have it cooked (not safe to even offer it as a raw option if the fish isn't handled properly). The Poke Bowl clearly didn't belong on the menu and had no Asian flavor. It was simple white rice with a cut up cucumber, carrots and avocado, not even proper short grain sushi rice with any rice vinegar which would have inspired more flavor. We left unenthusiastic to return. This place has the potential, but they really need to improve their delivery times and tighten up the menu. They should probably stick to a simpler burger and bar fare which they know they can cook and get to tables quickly. We noted a few other diners coming in later in the evening, and I hate to think how long they waited for their meals. read more

My wife and I are excited to have a new restaurant in town and we gave it a try last night. We are so glad that we stopped in, we had great food and service from our waitress Corrina. The atmosphere is really nice and they have a great menu. This place was very busy and the food came out fast and was cooked perfectly. The bar area is small but very nice and the drink prices are extremely reasonable. Come to New Boston and try this fantastic new restaurant! read more

This was my first time going here. I had a poke bowl. This would of been really good except for the poke sauce; it tasted like really salty soy sauce. Not good my husband had the veggie burger it was good but the 2$ extra charge for tater tots was a little much, considering the amount. The wait staff is very attentive and on top of things. My husband and I visited Riverside Grille last Wednesday evening for dinner. We heard about its recent opening and decided to take a nice 45 minute drive to check it out. It was the day after a big storm and the place was hopping-even for a Wednesday. I can see why. The atomosphere was very welcoming. The view overlooking the river is absolutely stunning. We were greeted with a big smile from the hostess and taken to a table up the stairs. We normally sit at the bar but all the seats were taken so we sat in the restaurant. Our waitress was Corrina and not only was she as cute as a button but she also was extremely attentive and walked around with a smile on her face serving all the customers in our section. We ordered a 26 oz. beer each-yes, that is correct, they offer a 26 oz. beer! They have great beers on tap. We noticed some other patrons ordered martinis and wine. All looked amazing. We had rolls before our meal and they were so delicious with a tomato based spread along with butter. We were going to order an appetizer but are glad we didn't because our meals were so filling. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich and I had tater tots and my husband had the onion rings. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was extremely yummy. Before our dinner came, Corrina came over to let us know that the kitchen had tons of takeout orders and apologized for our food taking a long time. We eat out weekly and are used to waiting longer than we did pre-Covid. We didn't think our food took long and were grateful for Corrina acknkowledging us. The prices are reasonable and the food being served around us looked delicious. We spoke to the owner after our meal and told her we would definitely be coming back. We mentioned that we are avid motorcycle riders and will take a ride back. She told us that they will have outside dining once the weather warms up. We checked outside and look forward to visiting in the summer. The dining space looks beautiful and can't wait to come back as soon as possible. read more
