Our favorite spot in Concord! We traditionally do a small plate, entree each (which we can never finish) and then complete the meal with macaroons and espresso. This trip we opted to share 4 small plates and then take two desserts (carrot cake and Mexican hot chocolate cheesecake) home with us. Dates were our favorite with the salty bacon, sweet dates and kick of spice in the filling, mushroom and toast a close second with the perfect bite in that bread just soaked with mushroom cream, he went with the smelt and I went with the fritters - we probably could've done just 3 but we couldn't resist the smelt special! Revival is one of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is farm to table and it's quite apparent in the taste of their dishes. The menu is exceptional. I truly don't think you can go wrong with anything. The complimentary sourdough bread service is incredible. We had a really great dinner at Revival! They were SO busy, which made me think that the server would not pay attention to us, but she was AMAZING. Had a wonderful dinner last night. Local sourced, well thought out menus, and substitutes allowed. Gluten free options also. The halibut was tender and flakey, fried leaks, couscous bed, a poached chicken that was fork tender- very flavorful sauce. Excellent wine and drink list, the deserts were home made, so good! Our waitress seemed to have radar, attentive & informed, the copper topped table added to the ambience. Online reservations are now available, as it's not huge so recommended on weekends! A worthy stop. Farm to table place, modern/casual decor, nice dinner environment (not too loud or bright). The food is well made and the menu has a good variety of veggie as well as carny dishes. We ordered the salmon entree and the seasoning was good but the fish was a bit overcooked. Odd as we were told it's usually aimed at less than fully cooked in the center but that wasn't the case. The seafood newburg was a nice melding of flavors and generous. The mushrooms on toast appetizer was quite good - a creamy and very mushroom forward sauce on a variety of different mushrooms. They're famous for their carrot cake but I actually felt my wife's is better. But the sauce that went with it was A+. Sweet, not cloying, very nice. The chocolate boat was an intensely chocolate experience. One note about the macarons. They only make one variety a day so they're fresh. Good. I noted the price of $2.50 is the same as at a patisserie, which was surprising and also good. Our had a very intense flavor - quite excellent. But ... it was SO SMALL! There wasn't a mention that it's the size of a nickel - not exaggerating either. Impressive they could actually make it that small. So - definitely delicious but a bit of a shocker size-wise. Waitstaff was very knowledgable and the service was efficient. Parking is NOT easy. They're on a steep hill and expect all spaces to be taken. Pro tip - park on Main and walk to the place. read more

MEH. I don't get the amazing reviews. The food was really boring tasting and not that flavorful and although our waiter was nice the service from the hostesses was kind of off-putting. I got the scallops and I couldn't even be bothered to finish the small amount of rice that they were on because it just wasn't that good. I would never come back here. $85 for 2 entrees with no appetizers or drinks better at least be worth eating. read more

Glad the SO was able to make a reservation as this place was packed and filled with good vibes. We ordered the calamari which was ok...didn't care for the breading. The scallops were large and so worth it. The flavoring was interesting as it felt like an Asian fusion style of flavoring. The bratwurst was good with a lot going on mixed together. Sometimes simplicity is better than infusing different things together to make an entree. My favorite was the dessert - the carrot cake was out of this world with two different cream cheese flavor. My wife and I were browsing downtown Concord today (Thursday 8/09), and we spotted a cute deck on a side street, where a woman was setting tables. We engaged her about the restaurant which did not open for an hour.. and she convinced us to come back in an hour. So glad we did as our experience was top-notch. Very creative farm-to-table place set in an old city brick building. Drinks were delightful- I had the Oaxacan Old Fashioned! Small plates & big plates... the menu looked delicious & came through on all counts. We had the stuffed pepper special, a cheese plate we designed, pirogies and the lobster poutine. Our server and the rest of the staff were key to making our time at Revival memorable... engaging and efficient (staff sweet spot). Can't wait to get back to Concord, will def. bring the gang along to enjoy a terrific time downtown! read more

Stopped by on a whim and we definitely were not disappointed. We had Nicholas as a waiter and he was outstanding. My husband had the tomatoe and parmesan soup while I had the oyster special. Oyster plate came with 3 large oysters from Maine. There was a mignonette and a pineapple chutney. OMG, I wanted to get back in the kitchen and eat whatever they had left. They were so good. I then had the salmon over homemade fettuccine with mushrooms, peas and asparagus. It was superb. My husband had the steak with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The steak was divine and melted in your mouth. We finished with a Mexican specialty coffee and creme brulee. I do not think that you could have a bad meal here. Everything looked and smelled amazing. Went there for our 36-wedding anniversary. Atmosphere was nice, got right in a nice seating. Waited on right away. Service was good but seemed rushed. Was in and out in about an hour. Small plates were the best part of the meal. I got the tomatoed salad with grilled asparagus- (could have been grill more) and the Bouillabaisse was ahh Meh. Oversalted and needed to be more fennel forward. My wife had the Perogies. She says they were excellent. She also had the steak with potatoes. Steak was so tough she could not eat. Brought it home but could not save it, so that was a waste. She also got the creme Brulle, that was just awful. It was broken and too much caramelization. You could not eat. I would try this restaurant again, but if it does not improve a little it would be the last time. read more

The food was top tier and the flavor combinations were perfect. They bring white rolls and butter out right away as you decide your order. The crispy bits on top of the salmon and the dried fruit mixed in with the couscous was amazing. The asparagus was cooked perfectly too. Beyond disappointed!!!  If I could rate this restaurant at HALF of one star I would and that would solely be for their cheese selection. I ordered the scallops as my main course and the accompanying items of that dish (i.e., Saffron Calasparra Rice, Chorizo, Baby Shrimp, Tomato, Citrus Vinaigrette) were inedible due to the extreme amount of salt the chef cooked with.  When the server finally checked-in (we had already finished eating) and asked if I wanted my plate 'packed to go' -- I politely shared my feedback only to be told the "scallops are one of our signature dishes" and then walked away. That after having to request that my water be refilled twice, only to have the server return to offer us dessert (we declined).  The server then returned with two measly macaroons as an olive branch for my extremely salty dish before presenting the bill with zero adjustment (e.g., comp a round of drinks or at the very least my mocktail?). Please note I'm writing this as someone who once worked as a server and opened the restaurant Buddakan in NYC.  I left the hospitality industry long ago, however, my server-mindset lives strong (especially as someone who dines out frequently in NYC and when I travel for both business and pleasure). My host was genuinely excited about trying Revival (he recently relocated to Concord) and I will tell anyone who is reading this review and/or tells me they are traveling to Concord to NOT bother going as it is a COMPLETE waste of both time and money!! @Revival team -- consider reviving your menu and upskilling your wait staff, it is time to level UP!!! We are from out of town and made reservations here as an early Valentine's Day dinner treat. THE FOOD -we started with the calamari appetizer. We felt it was fried perfectly and we really liked the aioli it came with. I also like that the only thing that was fried was the calamari. I can't stand when places fry peppers and it's a guessing game as to what you're picking up. -my partner got the seafood newburg which was delicious. He thoroughly enjoyed it and I tried a bite and found the sauce to be so delicious. We kept saying it's too bad it didn't come with more pasta to use the leftover sauce in his bowl. I will say the portion seemed pretty small. The table next to us someone got the same thing and it looked more like a "large plate" serving so maybe it was just a one off. -I got the halibut which was on special for valentines. Some bites were overpoweringly salty but overall it was really delicious. It came on a bed of meyers lemon risotto with fresh green beans. The beans were cooked to perfection and I wish I could've ordered a side of them to snack on. The dish also had prosciutto pieces which when I tried were totally not capable of being chewed they were so hard so I just avoided. The overall meal was delicious though and I would order again. -we got the carrot cake to go and I wasn't a huge fan. I was wanting more of a classic cream cheese frosting but it was fluffier than I expected. There was also a secondary topping / frosting that was maple-y that was okay. On top of that we're what my partner claims were sweet potato pieces. He liked the cake (in it's entirety) but for me it was a pass. -one thing I was REALLY disappointed about was the bread. For such a nice place they had really awful bread. It was hard and tough to chew. I think if they warmed them it would be perfect but that is not how they come. Butter was good though. Also, two little dainty rolls look ridiculous in the giant basket they serve them in...not even in a cloth napkin which kinda grosses me out. How often do they clean those baskets? THE DRINKS -we both ordered wine and it was lovely. -the waiter was nice enough to suggest my partner try a tiny bit of the wine on special since people were having mixed reviews on it. We both liked all the options we had. THE SERVICE -our waiter was very attentive and polite -he made sure to let us know we were in no rush and that we had the table which was great -I will say I notice they gave a lot of silverware that they were frequently taking and bringing back clean silverware. It was a little over the top for me since I am of the mindset to not be wasteful of using so much water to clean utensils over and over (especially when they kept taking things that were clean!). I think between the 2 of us they brought 4-6 spoons that we never used. THE ATMOSPHERE -we were seated at a 2 top and I am happy to say that while we were close enough to hear what's going on at the tables around us it wasn't like we were in their laps. That has been so common at restaurants lately and I can't stand it. -the tables were of nice copper tone and the decor around us/on the walls was nice Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if we are in the area I would want to come here again. I waited to see if restaurant would reach back out after privately messaging them but they haven't so here we are. 1. Stale bread served to us upon arrival 2. Drinks took 25 minutes to arrive while watching service bartender shake drinks about 3-4 times even our server commented that "there was no excuse for the wait". 3. Husband's rabbit came out tasteless with a halved raw carrot. Sent back dish for a different dish and yes it was returned to table promptly but as we are both in the industry we know they took this plate from another order. We even made a joke to our server about it 4. We chalked this up to a busy Friday night expecting an offer for a round of drinks or a dessert but nothing. 5. Spoke with the manager running the door who basically told us she couldn't do anything as she didn't have that power. Why be a manager 6. Our server was nice enough but he never really stopped and spoke over us so even when we spoke he didn't "hear" us Overall just a very poor experience, staff had no sense of urgency and left a very bad taste in our mouth. The apathy & indifferent attitude was appalling It takes a lot for me to write a review and like I said I tried to speak to someone at the restaurant and sent them an email to address this but to no avail. read more

Went to Revival Kitchen for a birthday dinner with family. Everyone had a different meal and everything came out perfectly. Food was great as were the drinks. Our waitress was very friendly and made us all feel very welcome. It is not a big place so reservations are encouraged. Strongly recommend stopping for a great, friendly experience. read more
