Lamb Ragu & Rib Eye Steak

To celebrate our time in New Hampshire we booked reservations to the Foundry on a Saturday night. We were quickly sat, although the host hesitated a bit making me nervous that they had lost our reservations. We were quickly greeted by our waiter, Ian. Ian service alone would make me want to visit the Foundry again if I lived locally. For starters we ordered raw oysters and tuna tartare - both of which were delicious. For our entrees we had the Lamb Ragu and the Rib Eye. I was hoping to be able to try their special - Brown Sugar Braised Beef Tenderloin but they had sold out by the time we ordered. We ended our meal by splitting the Blueberry Crumb Cheesecake which was excellent. The ambience was beautiful, it's right on the river but being late in the evening, it was pitch black. We just missed the dinner rush so aside from the live music, it was relatively quiet. It was a great experience and if I lived in the area, I'd definitely go back.

This restaurant is higher-end because they serve farm-to-table food, everything is fresh and menus change depending on what's in season. I wasn't disappointed, it's pricey but food and freshness are worth it! Cheeseboard came with Bell & Goose Camembert, Smoked Gouda, and Alehouse Cheddar cheese, Hot sorpressata and Salami meat. Rockefeller oysters were small but good, obviously not as good as Maryland Oysters! I also had a Cremè Brûlée to go and it was absolutely delicious! Great chill atmosphere and customer service. I definitely saved this restaurant as one of my favorites.

Posh restaurant on the waterfront in downtown Manchester. Friendly staff. Drinks were delish and food is exceptional. I had the salmon and was not disappointed.

came here with two friends to get dinner and drinks and catch up. great upscale place with a waterfront view. the pear drink and espresso martini were reportedly fantastic, as were the mushroom poke and tortellini. the warmed bread served before the meal was good as well, though i prefer when they slice it to some extent - i'm not a big bread ripper. i got the grilled peach salad and i enjoyed it, though i wish the dressing had more of an acidic or salty flavor - fell flat compared to the other components of the salad. service was quick and kind as well.

    Scallops with pesto risotto

The restaurant was near my hotel and I hosted about 12 people from work at the Foundry, which has a hip vibe to it. The restaurant was busy but the server gave us timely and high v quality service. We ordered a bottle of wine, all wines were priced below what I normally see at a restaurant, and they also have a great selection. We ordered several apps and all were delicious. For the main I had scallops with pesto risotto, which it seems half of our table ordered. The meal was delicious and I would order again. They have a generous rewards program which I wish I had joined. All in all I highly recommend The Foundry.

I've been meaning to try this place for ages now. Ever since we moved here, we've either read or heard about how amazing the brunch is. It appears....the rumors were mostly true. Mostly. Right off the bat, you're greeted with a rather industrial looking decor and the layout is very rectangular. We sat at the lounge tables, since that's apparently all they had available at the time. Still, it was fine...though the seats took some getting used to. Okay. I'm sure we all know how this works. You go to a buffet, you try a little bit of everything (or close enough to it, anyway). So, I'll briefly try and describe what I liked and didn't like. The scrambled eggs were okay, but obviously required seasoning since this is a buffet for many, many people. They work best when they're first put out and fresh. If they've been sitting for a while, they start to form this dry outer layer of skin and....I think you get the picture. 7 out of 10, get 'em while they're hot! The bacon was like...an 8. Won't say much more about that. The home fries were great, but a bit on the ginormous size. Look, Foundry, I appreciate your enthusiasm. But I'm not a pelican. Most humans can only unhinge their jaws so far. 8 out of 10, a knife is your friend. The fried chicken was juicy and tender on the inside. But the batter was a hard pass for me. Not only was it slightly burnt, but also had a semi-spicy flavor to it I didn't particularly care for. 6 out of 10. The mac n' cheese was confusing. See, you got this incredibly creamy situation going on, and that's great! But then....you realize it's totally devoid of all seasoning and flavor, which is NOT great. Whole thing ends up tasting like Elmer's glue. 3 out of 10, what am I supposed to do with this? The omelet station was quite the delectation. I'll be honest--it takes a while to get your orders. But I can tell the lady was efficient in her craft. These omelets come out perfectly cooked and not burnt at all. Other than a bit of seasoning, these things are actually quite impressive. 9 out of 10, perhaps I'll get ham next time. Here's the thing though. The menu items always change, I'm told; not to mention, their mimosas are pretty kick-ass. You get a choice of small or large, which I'll assume means 6 or 9 ounces, respectively. The only other anomaly about this place is the layout when you first walk in. It may have been the way the server directed us to the buffet room, but I swear she pointed toward the back of the restaurant when she really meant the side. So yeah, the buffet will be to your right when you first walk in about 20 feet. And the bar is on the left for reference. We will definitely return for another brunch adventure. For now though, I will give The Foundry Restaurant 4 savory omelets glistening in all their buttery glory out of 5. Oh, and thank you for reading my 500th review! ^_~

When did they stop the brunch buffet? All I see is a brunch menu.

Mother's Day was their last brunch buffet.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes

    Reservations a must for Friday?

Highly recommended, unless you show up when they first open and you don't mind sitting at the bar

Does the Foundry offer any vegan options for their brunch menu?

It's buffet style, so you can pick and choose your options, and there's usually many

These were served with a pea and bacon risotto whose rich flavors matched the meatballs perfectly and the accompanying crisped breads balanced texture for the perfect combo. The pork belly tostadas had a great combination of toppings that gave them a fresh feel and almost made pork belly feel healthy, and the popover short rib dish was perfectly cooked and tasty. This one wasn't my dish, but I managed to snag a nibble and may be ordering it next time if they decide to add it to the regular menu. So good! The dishes were a nice size, leaving room for desert, and the fresh fruit meringue was an excellent finale. The restaurant itself is small, with a bar and just a handful of indoor tables. They had 4 more tables outside, however, which would be great on slightly cooler days. The indoor window seat we got was comfortable and the whole place had a cozy, friendly feel. Service was top notch, from a greeting as we entered to constant attention - we never really noticed our slightly small (bar style) table as all the dishes were cleared so quickly. I loved this place and will probably have to keep returning until I've tried the whole menu. I'm definitely hoping to try the outdoor tables next if weather permits.

Make sure you have a reservation, especially for brunch. The server was a bit slow to take our order, but once she did she was super friendly and attentive and checked on us regularly, even as busy as they were. Food was pretty good. I had the poke bowl and it was tasty and filling. Hubby had eggs Benedict and said it was tasty. We both agreed the breakfast potatoes were super tasty and had great seasoning. The corned beef hash was not great. Although it had tons of meat, the meat was super dried out and crusty, almost like jerky. Desserts, especially the ice cream sundae was bonkers good and huge! Overall the food was pretty good and it was a good place to meet with family. NOW huge warning - there is very limited parking in back and the parking lot is split by a church and an apartment building and although the are signs up in the lot in some areas, if you don't pay attention and park in the wrong spot you absolutely will get towed. A family member got towed (we were in the right spot so ok), which left a bad aftertaste in our mouth so to speak. It would be helpful and appreciated if the restaurant was proactive about warning guests to make sure they are parked in the right spots. Put a sign out front of the door/patio area, anything so that you don't end up paying $250 cash only, to get your car back! Not cool!
