Drinks were some of the best I ever had! My friend and I cannot wait to go back to see the updated drink menu, it switches up seasonally.

We came here with a party of 13 - obviously none of us were triskaidekaphobic, which led to a wonderful interaction among us. Finding parking was initially cumbersome as this mill area has small parking areas and even fewer unmarked parking spaces, seemed that even the janitor had a reserved space. Then we found out that most of them are open after business hours. Waking into the restaurant was very appealing. The interior is quaint, subtly lit and welcoming. There are river views and booths with tufted seats, but even the inside seating was quite comfortable. For those not in a group, online reservations are available on the restaurant's website as well as Open Table app. Service was superb, even with split checks. Which translated to additional tips for the waiter, well deserved. Food was delicious. I had the Capers salad with added salmon. The salad was fresh, crispy, tasty. And the salmon was cooked to perfection. A memorable experience. read more

To celebrate our time in New Hampshire we booked reservations to the Foundry on a Saturday night. We were quickly sat, although the host hesitated a bit making me nervous that they had lost our reservations. We were quickly greeted by our waiter, Ian. Ian service alone would make me want to visit the Foundry again if I lived locally. For starters we ordered raw oysters and tuna tartare - both of which were delicious. For our entrees we had the Lamb Ragu and the Rib Eye. I was hoping to be able to try their special - Brown Sugar Braised Beef Tenderloin but they had sold out by the time we ordered. We ended our meal by splitting the Blueberry Crumb Cheesecake which was excellent. The ambience was beautiful, it's right on the river but being late in the evening, it was pitch black. We just missed the dinner rush so aside from the live music, it was relatively quiet. It was a great experience and if I lived in the area, I'd definitely go back. read more

I wasn't disappointed, it's pricey but food and freshness are worth it! Cheeseboard came with Bell & Goose Camembert, Smoked Gouda, and Alehouse Cheddar cheese, Hot sorpressata and Salami meat. Rockefeller oysters were small but good, obviously not as good as Maryland Oysters! I also had a Cremè Brûlée to go and it was absolutely delicious! Great chill atmosphere and customer service. I have been going to the foundry for YEARS. My husband and I went there tonight, hadn't been in probably a year. The bar was fairly empty. Ordered drinks and an app. Then ordered more apps. We were greeted by a bartender and then after our second round of apps came we didn't see her anymore. She may have finished her shift. My husband's drink stayed empty the entire time after the bartender ended her shift. Two other bartenders didn't even acknowledge us. There were maybe 10 people total at the bar. One bartender was on her phone, I was holding my card out for about 10 minutes to cash out. I am extremely disappointed in the service. I was in the service industry for 10 years. So if they were busy I would understand. But an empty bar and you couldn't check in on our apps or ask if we wanted another drink. We will not be going back. And this used to be a restaurant we frequently went to for date nights. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for ages now. Ever since we moved here, we've either read or heard about how amazing the brunch is. It appears....the rumors were mostly true. Mostly. Right off the bat, you're greeted with a rather industrial looking decor and the layout is very rectangular. We sat at the lounge tables, since that's apparently all they had available at the time. Still, it was fine...though the seats took some getting used to. Okay. I'm sure we all know how this works. You go to a buffet, you try a little bit of everything (or close enough to it, anyway). So, I'll briefly try and describe what I liked and didn't like. The scrambled eggs were okay, but obviously required seasoning since this is a buffet for many, many people. They work best when they're first put out and fresh. If they've been sitting for a while, they start to form this dry outer layer of skin and....I think you get the picture. 7 out of 10, get 'em while they're hot! The bacon was like...an 8. Won't say much more about that. The home fries were great, but a bit on the ginormous size. Look, Foundry, I appreciate your enthusiasm. But I'm not a pelican. Most humans can only unhinge their jaws so far. 8 out of 10, a knife is your friend. The fried chicken was juicy and tender on the inside. But the batter was a hard pass for me. Not only was it slightly burnt, but also had a semi-spicy flavor to it I didn't particularly care for. 6 out of 10. The mac n' cheese was confusing. See, you got this incredibly creamy situation going on, and that's great! But then....you realize it's totally devoid of all seasoning and flavor, which is NOT great. Whole thing ends up tasting like Elmer's glue. 3 out of 10, what am I supposed to do with this? The omelet station was quite the delectation. I'll be honest--it takes a while to get your orders. But I can tell the lady was efficient in her craft. These omelets come out perfectly cooked and not burnt at all. Other than a bit of seasoning, these things are actually quite impressive. 9 out of 10, perhaps I'll get ham next time. Here's the thing though. The menu items always change, I'm told; not to mention, their mimosas are pretty kick-ass. You get a choice of small or large, which I'll assume means 6 or 9 ounces, respectively. The only other anomaly about this place is the layout when you first walk in. It may have been the way the server directed us to the buffet room, but I swear she pointed toward the back of the restaurant when she really meant the side. So yeah, the buffet will be to your right when you first walk in about 20 feet. And the bar is on the left for reference. We will definitely return for another brunch adventure. The food was excellent but- small portions of chicken on the ceaser salad, and the burger was way too small for 26 dollars - and the prices at this place are outrageous. I paid $106 for: a dish of mussels, a burger (too small for $26) a bowl of chili and a ceaser salad with chicken, and a sprite. That's ridiculous. If you're going to gouge people on the prices, at least make the portions bigger. Never again. Too many restaurants in Manchester to be gouged like this. read more

The restaurant was near my hotel and I hosted about 12 people from work at the Foundry, which has a hip vibe to it. The restaurant was busy but the server gave us timely and high v quality service. We ordered a bottle of wine, all wines were priced below what I normally see at a restaurant, and they also have a great selection. We ordered several apps and all were delicious. For the main I had scallops with pesto risotto, which it seems half of our table ordered. The meal was delicious and I would order again. They have a generous rewards program which I wish I had joined. All in all I highly recommend The Foundry. read more

We have been to the bar area plenty of times but never taken the whole family to brunch here. I'm glad we did! We showed up at 9:15 and were seated immediately without a reservation. It's a buffet, $30 for each adult and $15 for each kid. For the quality of food and service, this price was so awesome! Seriously. Everything was delicious. Full omelette station, roast beef carving station, shrimp and oysters, full hot buffet with everything you could imagine, pastry table AND fresh fruit and dessert table. The kids loved the sweets and I loved the variety! I wish I had taken more pictures of the ambience. Live classical guitar player in the bar area, beautiful lighting and temperature. We came as a party of 8 for dinner after my graduation. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, and the Foundry was incredibly accommodating of my party! We shared a cheeseboard (of assorted meats, cheese, and the house pickles) and it was delicious. I love how this restaurant sources so locally! My table got a variety of dishes, and I ordered the Short ribs ragout. I think you can tell how good food is by how quiet the table is when it comes, and ours was quiet! Everyone loved their food, and commented on how fresh and creative the menu was. My ragout serving was filling without the need for sides, but the sides our table ordered were HUGE. The crispy brussel sprouts and truffle fries were delicious!! I went plate scavenging and tried the macaroni and cheese which was creamy and delicious without being incredibly heavy, and the mussels were bright and fresh. I think the real star was the scallops with the soubise and tomatoes. Those were some of the best I've ever had. Thank you for a delicious dinner! read more

Over priced and over hyped. My girlfriend's burger was undercooked, she had to send it back and had to flag our server down, because he never checked on us after putting our meal down. My husband had to flag our server again to get another Diet Coke. My butternut tortellini was cold. Instead of a creamy sauce, it was watery. I wasn't impressed at all and we won't be back. I wasn't very disappointed as I had heard great things about this place. And had to flag the server one more time because he didn't t give my husband his credit card back. I loved the atmosphere, the excellent service, and the food, especially the blood-orange Brussels sprouts. I had the butternut squash tortellini with a side of steak. I found the steak to be tough, but the tortellini was worth the visit - amazing. This is precisely the type of place my husband and I enjoy, but they need to increase their wine options. They have a vast wine cellar on view and should take advantage of it. And not have the staff put on and off their coats. We will go back for sure; the specialty drinks at the bar are excellent. Knowing where the door is is hard if you've never been there. There needs to be a lit sign over it that you can see from the parking lot. Well, we began like most probably do, flying like insects toward a light when we saw a big and lit-up sign saying, "The Foundry". That sign turned out to direct us to what would seemingly be a rabbit hole to the entrance. It was 20° outside. And although we were .4 miles away, and we tried to walk! The wind was brutal. So we found ourselves shivering in the car instead of on the looming walk home after a comfortable meal. It was a good choice. So this sign that we saw lights up a stairwell, an outdoor one that tricked us with it's glass panels. It was the entrance to nowhere! We got to the bottom and could not figure out where we were. Mind you, it was pitch black and f cold. So if it was obvious, it wasn't obvious to us. Finally we look to the left of the stairs and it appears to be a door. No real bright lights, no more signs. Just a brick layout that appears to be a door. Anxiously, and very cold, we proceeded to what was ultimately our entrance to a heated reprieve, The Foundry. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was palpable. You could feel the good energy immediately. The look was a mix between log cabin, brick hose, and industrial. Quite comforting if you ask me. We had made reservations, so when we saw all the people waiting, I felt relieved. Within minutes we were whisked away by a hostess and seated. It was extremely busy in there, and I came to find out that they can seat up to 400! That's an incredible feet when you are consistently the largest certified farm to table establishment in all of NH. Before we talk about food, let's touch on the service quick. Our waiter was extravagant. The restaurant was super busy, as I said, so we didn't meet him until after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The 3 of us immediately connected. His name, as announced, "Thomas..... like the train, so you don't forget!" He was a very talented waiter. He offered recommendations, talked about the establishment and made us feel like the only couple in a place that seats 400. Once he got to us he was attentive, not overbearing, friendly, and immediately picked up on our vibe. This is a big shoutout to you Thomas, you were 50% of these 5 stars. The food, man was that sht tasty! My date went with the Fig & Apple Panini. It had something called BACON JAM on it. Along with local brie cheese, it was a flavor bomb. I was however, a bit disappointed that the sent the fries with ketchup in lou of a nice aioli for them. I'm a firm believer that ketchup is a flavor thief, and that if you put it on your eggs, it's a sin. But the fries were incredible standing alone, not even needing a dipping sauce. I went with Thomas' recommendation of the Braised Shot Ribs. My God, what a solid choice. It came with sweet potato Gnocchi and a bourbon cream sauce. My dish was a pricey gamble, but it sure paid off. After our first bites we traded plates to taste everything. As we were switching back, Thomas came right over to make sure we were happy with our dishes. That kind of service is to far and too long gone these days. The end: Her and I were deep in conversation long after we finished. It seemed that Thomas picked up on that, I'm also sure he didn't mind us renting out the table while he got caught up. When he was able, he offered dessert. We, of course, turned it down. He, however, brought the menu by any way, just so we could see what they offer. For an establishment to have a waiter who can upsell properly is a great asset to have. The All-in-All is that we had a fantastic and memorable time. If I had expectations, they were exceeded. Thank you Thomas! You were the highlight of the night, followed shortly by the food. The Foundry is a "must have" experience. For the food and for that WELCOME feeling we all need when eating food. The prices, expensive to the baked eye. But when you realize you're eating all local stuff, and if it's not local, they make sure it's not full of the garbage that we hear all to often about. My advice is to call ahead and take the leap into a fantastic world of culinary craftsmanship that is side by side with the service. read more

I've been here three times since moving to NH two months ago and every time was great. The servers were all very friendly. The food was great every time. The mushrooms are local and so delicious. I'll order them every time. Some of the dishes are a little hit or miss. A lot of the fish dishes aren't on the ethical to eat list and the chicken came out a little dry. But for the most part everything I've ordered here was amazing. Had the risotto, scallops, clams, mushrooms, pork ribs (appetizer). Not to mention the bar is very pretty and drinks are delicious. At one point the manager served my mother and the wait staff came back a minute later to reorganize the plates the manager put down in a different order (she ordered the clams and they came back to separate the plate for the shells) and made a cute quip about training their manager. It was endearing. I love seeing a manager who will come out on the floor and help and I like even more when the servers can make jokes about working together. read more

I was traveling for business and my buddy suggested checking this place out. I could not find the entrance for the life of me (it's connected to the UNH campus). Anyway, I loved the place when I immediately walked in, it looks a bit like a distillery meets upscale farm with exposed wooden beams and warehouse looking lights hanging from the ceiling. I came in alone, so I walked over to the bar and was happy to see the bar was fairly large, there were lots of empty seats and the leather seats had backs and looked very comfortable. I almost wish I took my laptop as there were tons of two tops high tables near the bar too and a few people working. I started with a 12oz pour of the Meoimi Pinot Noir. Decent wine selection, but 85% of the wines were domestic (gross). Pricing was legit. Menu was okay. I asked the bartender what she recommended and she told me the mushroom crostini was a great choice. Therefore, I went with the Caesar salad and the mushroom crostini. I asked her if this was going to be a superfluous amount of food and she said no (lies). The food came out rather quickly. Bartenders were cordial, but far from being friendly. Anyway, the crostini was huge! It was two large slices of baked bread with large mushroom caps, blue cheese and garlic on top. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with this dish. It was okay, not great. I wasn't in love with the mushrooms they used & I felt unsatisfied after eating this. I also had the Caesar salad to accompany it. This wasn't that great either. 2.5/5. The Foundry was one of the few places I found with a wait time of less than an hour on a Tuesday evening and though they mentioned 45 to 60 minutes for a to-go, the food was ready when I walked in a few minutes early. I posted pictures of the outside as the location was a bit tricky to find with the GPS. I was greeted by very pleasant staff who seemed to speak to everyone who entered and left. When I went they were offering. 20% off take out orders - a nice bonus. I ordered the Foundry burger (chipotle aioli on the side) and a side of New England clam chowder. The burger and soup were still warm after the 10 minute trip back to the hotel. The burger was fairly moist and had a lot of flavor, especially with the addition of the bacon which seemed to have a bit of sweetness too. The aioli was a pleasant alternative to mayo, was seasoned well and was not too spicy. I appreciated the generous portion of pickles that accompanied the burger. The soup was a solid clam chowder and wasn't loaded with potatoes, which is how I prefer chowder. It was a satisfying meal in an otherwise busy restaurant day. read more

Date night dinner along the river. There isn't a bad seat in this place and since it's our first time, I booked a reservation to make sure we'd be able to get seated. They enforce a 2 hour table limit which allows them to seat people more frequently and notify you up front of this policy. Despite that - it was packed on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. Parking was a breeze with the two story wide open (no validation or fees when we went, the till will auto open when you exit). It is gorgeous inside. Polished wood surfaces and iron light fixtures. It is a bit dim so for anyone over the age of 45 bring your reading glasses. We were seated immediately and our server greeted us upon getting seated. She was attentive and courteous throughout the night. Our food came out promptly and no one stole my plate while I was still working on it. The warm bread round is fantastic and the whipped butter has a small hint of honey in it. I never could resist pork belly when I see it on the menu. Unfortunately - it was tough and did not meet my expectations. The flavor was good, but it was rushed (low and slow for a more tender pork belly). This is the only reason it wasn't a 5 star review. The slaw was excellent as an acidic crunchy foil to the pork belly (if it were less tough). The duck breast on the other hand was perfect. It was juicy, flavorful - and for a few bites in I almost forgot it was duck and thought it was steak because of how well seasoned it was between the mushrooms, glace, etc. (The granola was interesting. I almost would have liked it with the pork belly more and remove the maple to help deal with the texture but still get that mellow sweet note.). The portions are generous, and the meal was very satisfying. We didn't have room for dessert. Husband felt it was a little too frou frou for him bc the menu had things like duck and kale on there, yet he was still able to locate a rib eye done to his liking anyway (a perfect medium). This was exactly what I wanted for date night and we were back in time to relieve the sitter. This place does book up fast (Easter brunch was booked up before Lent even started.) I would love to see what the views look like during the day. Will def come back again soon. read more

This is a brunch review...their dinner is different. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's actually what I like the best about this place. The mimosa options were great and really made the whole brunch come together. The brunch itself is pricey, and is not quite worth the price. In order to be better they need to add in prime rib or roast beef station and something good with chocolate for dessert. A lot of the desserts were small and pastry- like. Nothing too creative. The French toast and vegetable risotto were awesome, though, and would definitely put both of those on your plate when you're in line. Overall, I would go back. Enjoy! read more

I've been for both dinner and brunch and it never disappoints. We got there around 9:30 on Saturday and there was no wait and most tables were empty. By the time we left at 10:30 there was still no wait, but getting full. We were nervous to go without a reservation but it worked out great! The buffet is well stocked with a great variety. Some of the food was not as hot as I would have liked but that's expected for a buffet. The omelet station was great and very quick. There was a great variety of lunch and breakfast food. We enjoyed the potatoes, Mac and cheese, fruit, ribs, and oysters. Disappointed our waitress told us they did not have iced coffee but then another waitress told the table next to us that they did. Beet salad was good, but way overdressed, (should have had dressing on the side). Foundry burger was ok, but $ 22 ? Robie Farm beef is featured, but the bacon jam & aioli overwhelms the flavor of the beef. House made bun lacked taste & texture and disintegrated. Pumpkin risotto was heavy and starchy. The menu was a bit pretentious, very pricey, $44 for a pork chop, $45 for scallops seems excessive. read more
