This place was mobbed the evening we dined in. We arrived with another couple and were seated at a high top in the bar area. It was dark in there and loud. Like difficult to hear each other at the table loud. Not much you can do about that I suppose. The staff were working hard to keep up with the demand. Our waitress was great. Personable, competent and she knew the menu well. They offer a raw bar and pub style favorites. I enjoyed my fish tacos without the hot peppers (as advised by our waitress). They had a nice level of spice. Good onion rings too. I ate one of my SO's who got those with his giant burger. The restaurant and ladies room were clean. Not sure what is up with the selfie wall in the handicap stall in the ladies room though. A bit of whimsy right next to the diaper station. Ok then. They offer a full bar and lots of beers on tap. Had an amazing girls night out! We were seated quickly, and our waitress came over right away. We were so excited to try the Espresso Martini Tree, it was amazing. Definitely something to split, we had a great time sampling all of them. The grilled cheese had Gouda cheddar and American cheese with bacon, it was great to dip in the tomato bisque. We didn't have dessert because we had to run to a movie, but I know for a fact from previous trips that the Guinness Chocolate cake is to die for. read more

The bun was squished and looks like they made it a McDonald's. Not a fan! Apps were good, chicken fingers were way over cooked. While I know restaurants have good and bad nights, the consistency of this place is all over the board. Let me start by saying the waitstaff was incredibly nice. She was helpful and very nice. We ordered 2 sodas, an appetizer of poutine, a burger, and a flatbread. The soda and appetizer were all fine. The burger was ordered medium-well. It came out cold and red in the center, so medium rare. For someone who doesn't like the texture/temp of medium-rare, that's not edible. The flatbread came out soaked in grease. I used 2 napkins to attempt to soak up some of the grease. The napkins were completely soaked through. However the flatbread was still horribly greasy, to the point that when I took a bite grease gushed out. I tried and ate about 1/8 of this dish, that I paid $14 for. I'm not normally a person to ask for something to be removed but I asked to have the burger and flatbread removed. The manager, who never bothered to speak with us, agreed to let the waitstaff take off the burger. They refused to allow the flatbread to be taken off. That said, they also didnt offer to give me the flatbread that they had already taken. So they threw away 7/8 of a meal I paid $14 for, didn't give me the option to take it with me (not sure what I would do with it but I paid $14 for it), and refused to credit it. This is not in any way a reflection on the waitstaff. She was incredibly nice. This was poor quality service from the kitchen staff, and really poor handling by the management who didn't at any point even come talk with us. read more

I have to admit that I did not want to go to this place because it's in a plaza. But once you get inside this place it's 100% New England with an authentic setting, authentic staff, authentic food, and authentic customers. The service was not good, we Sat at the bar it was not busy and took over 5 mins for the bartender to come over, when we Sat down he was standing right in front us us, we were never greeted, or said I will be right with you. We ordered we received our drinks, finished our drink, food had not arrived, never came back to see if we wanted another drink food came some 30 mins later, then offered a second drink. I have never been here but I chose it to meet my best friend half way for her birthday. Due to reviews. I tried to make a reservation early, I was told I had to make it the day of.. I did. I was told they would text me when they were ready.... 45 minutes later than the reservation, we approached and they said sorry we are working on it. An hour after our reservation we were seated. So reservations are bs. Eventually a server took an order for an appetizer and two glasses of Prosecco. The appetizer was great. The Prosecco was flat like, a white wine. We sent it back, like we hate to do..we asked her if it was Prosecco, she yelled Yes! And ran away.. We eventually got Prosecco with some weak bubbles, From a different woman that was looking after the place. Then a half hour after we had placed our entree order, different ladies came by and said that the seafood risotto was unavailable, unless I was ok with just shrimp. I asked if I could look at the menu, to make a different choice.. they acted like that was a problem, so I said yes. Risotto I paid 30$ for was awful.. , risotto had no flavor basically hard rice and butter and the shrimp was so hard, you couldn't even chew. They had scallops, haddock and more on the menu! Were they out of all of that? My friends steak tips were barely warm as though they were sitting around while they figured out the terrible risotto. 7pm 9/23/20222 very busy place, we used call ahead for 7 pm we were seated (party of 4) @ 7:02 pm which was excellent timing. Solid beer selection especially if you like the Microbrews, very limited in regular domestic beers. Starters Poutine and Artichoke/Spinach Dip. In a part of the country known for Poutine they might be better served to take it off the menu it was definitely below average. On the other hand the dip was solid and good pub food. Guest 1 Steak tip salad (below average, steak was not cooked the way ordered and served cold). Guest 2 Fried Haddock Tacos "Delicious". Guest 3 The Cowboy Burger was average pub burger. Guest 4 Rueben Sandwich with fries, very average. We did get the Almond Joy Cheese cake which was excellent!! So overall it was okay, hoping for better but will try again to see if it gets better. So I used to have a 1 star on this place due to a lackluster performance by the Tap about 5 years ago. Today Honey and Junior wanted a cheeseburger. Had to have one. I said "Fairplay, you pick the spot." Honey chose the Tap House. Very well, they were shit once but I will give them another go. Yeah not bad. Fried pickles were lovely and the sauce they served with them was brilliant. As discussed Burgers all around. All serviceable. A few issues: 1. NO MUSHROOMS. You are fucking joking. These lads serve pizza and there isn't a mushroom in the gaff. Daddy needs fungus on the burger. 2. The fries were good BUT you only get about 10 with the burger. Had to splash out for an extra order just to satisfy the ratio. 3. Inconsistent lettuce. Honey and Junior got a lovely bit of iceberg lettuce on their burgers. Me? Some weird plate garnish leafy greens. Taking the piss. 4. Beer glass. Chill the pint glass mate. If my review seems overly critical it is unintentional. I did enjoy my time there and the food as well. Our server was lovely and the ambiance is a sort of dimly lit bar which is right up my alley. Get some mushrooms, stop being tight with the fries and chill the pint glasses and we'll talk about that fourth star. read more

Nice place, despite being in a strip mall. The hostesses weren't great, and the food service was slow. However, the quality of the food very much made up for it. The backwoods burger was incredible and the tri tip was very generous and tasty as well. Excellent beer list and even a local mead is featured in the drinks menu. Bartender here seemed indifferent: not much of a greeting, slow service, no check after meal arrived and lack of interest at empty drink glasses. Again, indifferent. Food took a long time, steak tips cooked correctly, peppercorn demi was floury, vegetables (carrots and green beans) some cooked through, some seemed uncooked. We were disappointed the last time here and it's gotten worse. We really liked you guys years ago, has management changed or has staff withered out? I feel compelled to write this because it has been so much better (food menu, service and cooking/presentation) in the past. You can do better than this. You have done better than this. read more

The staff here is amazing. Date night, we were informed of the specials, let the waitress know of an allergy. She checked with the kitchen and informed me that yes, that ingredient was in my choice. Gave her a 2nd option for my meal and she came back again. The kitchen staff went the extra mile to check the recipies making sure my meal was safe for me to eat. They even placed a pick table in my meal to make sure it wasn't cross contaminated. I really appreciated the effort that was made to make sure I could have a pleasant evening. read more

We came for the KBS 2017 on tap and it was delicious- super excited to get this on tap. We also got poutine and added bacon and that was so yummy. I have been here about 4 or 5 times & was nearby in the area with my boyfriend, so I asked if we could stop for a few apps & beers. He had been here a few times & liked it, so there was no argument on that. It was a little busy at the bar, but the restaurant was fairly open for tables. They have hand sanitizer upon entry & they do get your information (at the end of the meal) for contact tracing. Staff wore masks at all times. It was evident that they were taking the safety of all very seriously. For apps we got the jalapeno poppers & the buffalo chicken wings. It seemed to take an awfully long time to get our order for 2 simple things. We had a couple of drinks while waiting. The jalapeno poppers are more like stuffed jalapenos; they were quite good! I actually like that they weren't fried & caked with a bunch of breading or batter. The wings were decent in size, but the buffalo sauce almost had as thinking "is this even buffalo sauce?" because it was thin & tasted "different" than what we are used to, I suppose. Either way, the food came out hot & at 2 separate times, but no complaints otherwise. Their beer selection is very decent & they had a good variety of IPA's. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the ones they offered & gave some suggestions based on what she liked. I like coming to the New England Tap House! I will be back! read more

Where should I start...looked at the menu and decided on either the baked haddock or the margherita flatbread. It all was determined by the vegetable of the day for the haddock. Only waited 10 minutes to be seated but waited 17 minutes before someone came around for our beverage order. We opted for water with lemon. I asked what the vegetable of the day was. I was happily informed that it was butternut squash. With that I decided in the baked haddock with butternut squash and wild rice, like described on the menu. Husband ordered baked haddock as well but opted for fresh vegetables to dip. Water came quickly but no lemon. It tasted like pool water...super chlorine tasting. The lemon for our waters arrived with our meals. I looked at the meal and asked the waitress about the butternut squash. She said that apparently they changed the vegetable. I kindly told Her that my meal decision was based on the vegetable and was originally going for the margherita flatbread. I also noticed that the meal had mashed potato's and not wild rice (not as if a substitute was asked). She told me that she would order me the margherita flatbread and I could take it home (no charge). My husbands also came with mashed potatoes but he didn't mind. Now onto the food. My husband said his meal was cooked perfectly and tasted good. I asked him to fast my haddock. He agreed that it tasted different than his. I ended up leaving the haddock on the plate and packaged up with vegetables and potatoes (in my own take home container). I was brought a dish of wild rice about 5 minutes after my meal was delivered. So my dinner consisted of wild rice . My flatbread came and I did not inspect it. Wasn't until I got home I realized that they gave me the Buffalo chicken flatbread and NOT my margherita one I originally wanted. Don't think we'll be going back here anytime soon. SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN THE WHOLE MEAL. Don't know how it is that they are getting ready to celebrate their 10 years in business. read more

Ordered the shrimp scampi for takeout, got home and noticed I was given the shrimp scrappy instead. The portion literally looks like someone's leftovers.
