At night there are ZERO lights, dark signage, and my only landmark was, "Ah yes... follow the sacred Guinness imagery on the front doors like a slightly tipsy pilgrim seeking barley and salvation." During daylight I'm sure it's obvious, but at night (especially in rain or snow) you're basically navigating by faith, GPS betrayal, and hopeful vibes. I didn't catch our waitress's name, but she fully understood the assignment -- group of friends, multiple drinks, laughter escalating in volume -- we felt welcomed, never rushed, and were allowed to spiral socially at our own pace. It was trivia night (we did not participate because our confidence exceeds our actual trivia knowledge), but surrounding tables were living their competitive lives. The menu is... honestly a conversation starter. It's giving jack-of-all-trades comfort food chaos. Where else are you seeing shepherd's pie egg rolls casually coexisting with liver and onions like they negotiated a diplomatic treaty at the United Nations of Comfort Food? Naturally, curiosity and poor impulse control won, and the table ordered the shepherd's pie egg rolls. Because -- science. Drinks: * Beer drinkers were happy -- solid selection, zero complaints. Glasses remained suspiciously empty which tells me everything I need to know.* I ordered a French Martini which immediately turned into the community sample martini. Consensus: enjoyed by others. Personally? Ce n'est pas mon préféré. Growth is knowing when a martini is not your soulmate. C'est la vie! Food: * A couple of us ordered the pot pie -- good temperature, solid comfort vibes, but the crust was thin and a little chewy instead of crispy, flaky and and emotionally supportive. Slight emotional letdown because crispy crust is possibly a love language. * I'm normally anti-fish taco, but a friend loved them. I tried a bite and will admit... flaky, fresh, and not oily at all. Respect where respect is due. Overall:Comfortable local hangout energy, friendly service, interesting menu, but the nighttime invisibility cloak on the building nearly had me questioning my GPS and my eyesight and whether I had accidentally entered a secret speakeasy that requires password authentication. I cant really complain about anything here except to say that it was dark. However, thats most bar type restaurants. The food was delicious and the service friendly. We were a party of five. Three of us had the Korean steak tips and the others were meatloaf and shepherds pie. I ordered my steak with the green beans (vegetable of the day) and a side of fries. The seasoning on the steak was really good and it was extremely tender. The green beans were fresh and slightly crisp. The fries were fries. They would have been amazing had they been fresh instead of frozen but they were not bad. The dinner was 30 dollars. A bit high but the steak was very memorable. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. So ghost margarita was perfect and I'm pretty picky.. the garlic Parmesan chicken tenders were perfecttt - tender enough to eat with a knife and fork without risk of knocking something over haha!! We had a wonderful lunch today on our trip back to Massachusetts. Fast service, friendly people, and great food. If you order a martini, they bring the cutest little display with the glass on ice and the "extra" on the side -- basically 2 drinks in one! Went around 3:30. Their lunch specials go until 4 so I was able to get a ribeye steak lunch. I forget exact price I think it was $24, but with the price of steak lately it was reasonable, came with one side. Ordered medium rare and came out perfect. There wasn't a ton of flavor, but that's how I like it...just salt and pepper. I like to taste the steak. Especially a ribeye. My girlfriend got the rueben and loved it. She is also big on fries and said they were some of the best she has had. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. As far as drinks...I'm a whiskey/beer drinker so I'm good pretty much anywhere. My girlfriend likes "fun" drinks and said their menu had a good amount of them. She got something on special for valentine's day and said it was delicious. Hello, I really am not used to writing negative reviews, as I am a pretty easy to please person, but today was very frustrating. My friend and I came in for lunch. It had been a while since our last visit, and since this establishment always receive great reviews, I was really looking forward to it. We sat at the bar, and unfortunately, the service from the start was less than satisfactory. The bartender handed us menus and came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. I gave her my drink order, and she went to make it without asking my friend what he wanted, which was very embarrassing and awkward. She then returned with my drink and took his order. A short while later, she took our appetizer order but left before we could give our lunch orders (which we were ready to give as well), and she seemed more focused on the regulars at the bar. When she brought our appetizer, she started to take our menus before realizing we hadn't ordered lunch yet. The rest of the service was okay after that, but overall, it still felt like we weren't really acknowledged. It came time for dessert, I tried ordering one of the dessert drinks (from the dessert menu) and she had no idea what I was asking for, which was embarrassing as well. I settled on an espresso martini, and, again, she started walking away without taking my friends order, but as she was still within an ear shot, he said he would take an espresso martini as well. Definitely poor service and it left me feeling embarrassed for my friend that he was seemingly being overlooked. Expectations were LOW after randomly pulling off the I93, but this place definitely stepped up to deliver. From the outside, it looks more like an old insurance firm, but the inside was poppin with locals on a Saturday night. Service was fast, and the food was solid. I was driving through NH on my way back to Boston and I saw this gem show up on my map. Located in a nondescript building this place had the best Haddock I've ever had in my life. The inside is half restaurant half sports bar. There was a thick coating of perfectly toasted bread crumbs on it. It came out sizzling from the white wine butter sauce it's baked in. Probably the best version of this dish I've ever had. I went double starch for my sides with sweet potato fries and garlic mashed potatoes, both were on point. read more

If you've never been, you need to go. Everything about this place is amazing. From the minute you walk in, the staff is so attentive. If you want to sit at the bar and it's full, they seat you off to the side at the wine barrels or on one of the couches. They make sure no or skips the line for the bar. The bartenders come out and take your order for drinks and serve you while you wait. The food is absolutely delicious. The sheppards pie egg rolls are unlike anything you've eaten. This is the second time we visited Second Brook Bar and Grille. The first time, we went for Easter dinner with my daughter. She discovered this eatery and suggested we come here when we were looking for places to eat. It is in a strip mall on Rt 3 in Hooksett. If you didn't know it was there you would probably drive by it. There were 5 adults and 1 child who did a lot of running around....We ordered drinks and potato skins, shrimp cocktail and French onion soup. The potato skins were wedges of baked potato nice and crispy and served with sour cream, fresh bacon (not that jarred stuff) and scallions. The shrimp cocktail was very cold and tasty. The French onion soup was served in a crock and had bubbly cheese on top. All very good. For dinners three of our party chose the filet which was cooked perfectly, and my daughter's comment was "it was the best tasting filet she has ever had".  Some got the rice which looked delicious with peas and carrots in it or the scalloped potatoes which was a special of the day. All came with fresh carrots. I got the baked ham which was a special that tasted so delicious and smoky.  It came with a delicious pineapple sauce (just like I would make) with chunks of pineapple. I ordered the scalloped potatoes and carrots. My special came with a salad as well. I got the ranch dressing as I usually do but this ranch tasted so much more delicious than the usual stuff. Very good. My salad had mesclun lettuce which some at my table do not prefer, but I like it just fine. Hubby had the baked haddock which he said was very fresh and delicious. It had a crumb topping and he got the scalloped potatoes as well as the carrots. A few of us had a hot brownie sundae and the fresh homemade blueberry pie for dessert. All were delicious and homemade. Our second visit was recently. It was just hubby and I. We sat at a cozy booth. I ordered a Cosmo which came with the extra that didn't fit in the glass in a tiny vase which was in a glass of ice. Finally, someone gives you enough beverage to last longer than appetizers! We opted for the potato skins for an appetizer. As usual they had a crispy exterior, soft and fully cooked interior with fresh bacon crumbled on top and scallions. Delicious. Being the Chicken Piccata freak that I am, I ordered the Chicken Piccata. I would much prefer Piccata with roasted potatoes or veg instead of pasta but ordered the Penne with red sauce on the side. I don't like when the pasta soaks up all the Piccata sauce. The chicken came out in a small casserole dish and was already cut. It appeared to be chicken they had prepared earlier for various dishes with a Piccata sauce that appeared to be more chicken broth or wine than the velvety and buttery lemon sauce but was tasty none the less. I did not care for the chicken though, I would have preferred and freshly made chicken cutlet. There was a lot of chicken though I will say that. Hubby loved the sauce the Penne came with though and commented he was going to get the Spaghetti and Meatballs next time. Hubby got the Haddock. He said it was fresh and delicious. He got mashed potatoes tat appeared to be mixed with instant. The veg were delicious green beans and golden beets. The beets were unbelievably delicious. The fish came stacked on the potatoes which he wasn't crazy about, but it was delicious. When I go to a restaurant, I always look for small touches like Alfredo sauces and dressings that say they are made fresh. This restaurant has shown that they go the extra mile to make sure their offerings are as freshly made as possible........I would definitely recommend this Restaurant! We have always travelled to the Backroom for that go to food spot you can always count on. Well we are in luck. This place is hands down a FANTASTIC PLACE TO EAT! It is spotless clean, the staff is top notch and attentive, it has huge TVs which we all love, however the food - THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL!!! My baked stuffed shrimp was to die for. My daughter's steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The portions quite generous. Thank you thank you thank you for putting Hooksett on the map for a great dining experience!!!!!!!!
