Shirley's does new specials of the week. Do yourself a favor and get the Scallion Pancake Dilla!!! I always get The Maxwell, which is one of their burgers. That's super good as well but I wanted to change things up. Boy am I glad I did! The Scallion Pancake Dilla come with a pico de gallo. Friendly greeting, seated right away, nice clean and air conditioned space. Hubby was able to do a bowl modified for a delicious vegan option and I had the LA street tacos. Great flavor very generous with the meat. Prices are on par for meals out these days $16 for the tacos $15 for the bowl, but as I said, very generous portions. We went to Shirley's at 12:30 on a Saturday. We were hoping lunch, but learned that they only serve breakfast on the weekends. That was fine, I went ahead and ordered The Gardener's omelette. It was absolutely delicious. The vegetables were perfectly cooked- not too crunchy, not too soft - and the garlic aioli on top was really good. All the servers were really nice even though we came in a half an hour before close. I would definitely go there again and I recommended highly. read more

Menu sounded interesting but meal came out bland (Sausage gravy) and biscuit was extremely dry (disintegrated when I cut a bite). Another item was also messed up, which they removed from our bill. I don't know that we will return there - the mid-range food just isn't in alignment with their pricing and atmosphere. read more

Don't call me Shirley. Formerly Madear's and Rock On Diner, Shirley's Kitchen recently opened in Suncook which serves all day breakfast and lunch starting at 11 am. At the time of this posting, they are open Wednesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch and still a work in progress with local artwork still being hanged on the walls and the menus still evolving. The place has table seating as well as counter seating in the back near the kitchen. A few weeks ago, there were signs in the front windows of the former Madear's with Shirley's Kitchen coming soon! After seeing this space vacant for close to two years, I was so glad another place for sitdown/takeout food was opening in the area since the choices close by are fairly limited, but still plenty of pizza places nearby. I decided to stop by before work since it was on the way. They open at 7 am, so I got here at 7:05 am as the first customer in and I took a seat up at the counter for prompt service. I got an ice water since I already had coffee and quickly placed my order for the Hash Judgment ($10 plus tax) served with home fries. I could see my food being made to order in the kitchen and could hear the sizzle from the grill. My hot plate of food was served to me in about 10 minutes. The good sized breakfast sandwich had 2 soft scrambled eggs, savory shredded brisket hash with small potato cubes, caramelized onions, chipotle ketchup between 2 slices of sourdough toast. The home fries were freshly cut potatoes which were grilled and seasoned nicely. They had Cholula hot sauce which gave my food some kick. I enjoyed my food quickly and finished it all. I was given my check which was $10.85 with tax and before tip. I had just enough time to head into work after eating. Overall, my breakfast was excellent which was freshly cooked and very tasty. The service was friendly and prompt. I would like to try other things on the menu including some fusion breakfast dishes like Omurice (omelet style egg over fried rice, Oddball braised pulled pork & vegetables and Go Chu Jang Sauce) and the Seoul Skillet (2 poached eggs over slow cooked brisket, kimchi, pickled red onions, home fries and Go Chu Jang Sauce). read more

Made our way to Shirley's Kitchen based on a google search while driving from Concord, NH back to Mass and so glad we did. Shirley's Kitchen is fantastic!! The food was delish, the coffee is served in a large mug and it is hot and perfectly brewed. The restaurant is beautiful with an exposed brick wall and comfortable seating at tables and booths as well as counter service towards the back and it's immaculately clean. The best part of course was the staff, friendly and easy to talk to, very attentive and totally elevated the experience. If you have a chance to enjoy a meal at Shirley's Kitchen, don't pass it up. We were looking for a breakfast place on our way north from Manchester. I came across this place on Yelp and we're so glad I did! The food is simply amazing. The menu has creative options as well as the standard fare you'd expect. And the serving sizes! Wow! Bring your appetite! The pancakes are HUGE. They are thick and fluffy and so flavorful! My husband got the eggs Benedict which were also delicious. Service was prompt, responsive and attentive. And the space was rustic but quaint. There's a creative use of couches/loveseats and upholstered chairs paired with metal chairs. The coffee cups do not match and it's wonderfully eclectic! So glad we happened upon here and hope to return during our next travel! read more

My review is LONG overdue! I visited Shirley's Kitchen a few months ago and was impressed from the start. I was struggling to get my twin babies in the door when the owner rushed over to help me. I was seated and greeted promptly with a warm smile. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Melt which was absolutely perfect. The bread was similar to Texas toast and paired very well with the buffalo chicken. I ordered the LA Street Tacos to go (for my husband) and they held up very well in the car ride home. He was incredibly impressed with the flavor. Shirley's Kitchen has a little bit of everything for everyone! Do not sleep on this adorable little Mom and Pop, you won't regret it! read more
