Stopped here for lunch the other day and had a really good meal. I love that you can go get crackers and cheese to start for free. The service was super friendly and quick, and came back many times. I got the fried chicken wrap and it was great. Overall food was a little pricey but it was good!

This local chain has restaurants all over the state! It was recommended by our host as well as TA. It was packed when we arrived so we opted to eat at the upstairs bar. The service was great and the food was perfect comfort fare. I ordered two autumn specials a fall salad with feta and sweet pumpkin seeds and the pumpkin ravioli. My friend had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and a fall drink. All were delicious!

We arrived a little late for dinner but they were super accommodating. The decorations are very farm style and cute. There is a free cheese and crackers table. Arancini super crispy outside cheesy inside Bacon wrapped shrimp - tender and came with a side of cornbread Apple walnut chicken - chicken is slightly dry but the sweet walnut sauce is amazing Steak tips - tender but fully cooked when we request medium rare Lobster corn chowder - too salty for me but creamy

This was our second attempt to come here as it was too busy last time. The service was very good and the staff friendly. With respect to the food, it had excellent flavor. From the lobster corn chowder to the pot pie to the sweet corn bacon raviolis, they all tasted great. The only issue we had and what kept this from 5 stars was the temperature of the food. The Arancini balls tasted great, but were ice cold in the center. They did take them back and returned them fully cooked. But after we left my wife told me that her raviolis were also cold in the middle, but she didn't want to be "one of those people" and complain a second time. All in all, we would definitely go back and try other things.

My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday for a birthday lunch for his dad. It was quite busy with a full parking lot by 12:30, but you can drive down the dead end road to loop around and park in their overflow parking. There was an hour wait so we walked upstairs to the bar and managed to find seating at a high top. Since it was his dad's birthday, we ordered his very first filet mignon, medium rare, but it came out well done. My boyfriend's steak tips were nice and juicy. My burrata salad had flavorful veggies and peaches, but overall it was a bit lackluster. I also got the ahi on the side, but it wasn't anything to write home about. We all got the lobster corn chowder to start, which was good with tender lobster pieces, but the chowder was heavy on the butter and salt, and I wish the cornbread wasn't so bite-sized.

Now it is one of those downtown Concord places I circle back to whenever I am craving something brothy and comforting that still has some personality. Most visits revolve around noodle soups, and I have worked my way through a good chunk of the menu. The spicy miso ramen has a deep heat that builds instead of hitting you all at once, and the shoyu ramen is clean and savory in a way that makes you keep sipping the broth even when you are full. The Bubba pho and veggie pho are both solid, generous bowls, and the Korean noodle soup that started as a special clearly earned its permanent spot. Even the Japanese curry soup, which I expected to be heavier, if I had to nitpick I wish it had more curry flavor. My favorite order though is the spicy tantan, with a tweak. Sub the ground chicken for the soy glazed chicken. It adds texture and a little sweetness that really works with the spice. Service is friendly without hovering, and the pacing is usually spot on even when they are busy. The space itself is small, but I rarely struggle to get a table, and the bar seating is a nice option if you are solo. Portions are filling, prices feel fair, and I always leave thinking about what I will order next time.

Two of us had the coconut curry soup and literally had to lick the bowl to make sure we du DMP t miss one drop of this. The other in our party had the salad And enjoyed it completely. The two others had the scallops and were very impressed. One of our party has a tomato allergy and they were careful not to have it on the dish. Then came dessert time. I called ahead to make sure they had carrot cake because i had read great reviews on it. It certainly lived up to those reviews. One of our guests was too full for dessert, but managed to get a spoonful of both of ours. My friend had the Boston Crean tart, and we all declared this a winner also. They were very accommodating as I had booked for four and had to call them before we came in person's plane was delayed. When I asked, because of the reviews I had read, if they would have carrot cake that evening, and the gentleman said as long as I'm here we will always have carrot cake. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious, well prepared and well presented meal that is as fresh as can be. The service is wonderful and we will be back.

We were able to park close by and get in before the big crowd. Barley seems like a happening place. An upscale Irish Pub, for sure! The set up is a bar with a decent amount of restaurant booth seating. Of course, there were tables of different sizes available, as well. We were given a 10 minute wait after meeting with the Hostess. There was alot of activity around the bar and lots of drinks coming out of the bar well....always a good sign! When our time was up, we were quickly escorted to our table. We were each given a menu and a drink menu. Lots to choose from on both menus (see the pic below) I ordered the chicken sandwich with caramelized onions and my son ordered a Chicken Pot Pie. He had a beer and we both had water with a lemon. The food came rather quickly. I was immediately taken back when the caramelized onion was not on my sandwich. I was going to ask the waittress to fix it but it was far to busy and it was not a big deal. Of course, I would have enjoyed the onion but "no big deal". My son's Chicken Pot Pie was a good size and was thrilled with it. We both ate everything on our plates. Our waitress checked in with us a few times to refill, which was nice and came to take the plates away after we were finished. We did not get any dessert. To be honest, we did not see a lot of dessert plates coming to other tables, either. We were thinking maybe people leave to get ice cream at one of the nearby establishments. 5-Stars Price: Fair Parking: plenty near by Vibe: perfect...I would like to watch a game, someday, at the bar Pepsi/Coke: Coke Would I come again? Everything our party of four ordered was a disappointment, starting with an ice-tea cocktail that was undrinkable-- our nice waitress took it off the bill. My grilled salmon on a bed of rice arrived as dry as the Sahara, surrounded by burnt roasted carrots -- at least I think that's what they were. My husband's steak he ordered medium rare was also way overdone, served a block of with cold mashed potatoes. The overly sweet Apple Pumpkin Bisque (for $9) went uneaten after each of us tried a spoonful -- it was more like a bowl of pie filling than soup. Even the dessert, bread pudding with some whipped cream, was gloppy and unappetizing. This is a great place to go if you are fasting.

Banana/strawberry and holy shit it was incredible!!! I. LOVED. IT!!! Damn it was good. I think it was like $12 tho? Am I crazy to think...meh, it's ok, (the price) I was on a holiday and you are supposed to enjoy whatever? haha!! I would normally never spend that much on a freaking smoothie! HOWEVER! Once we got into Manchester, VT....we saw another The Works Bakery...I SHO DID get another one lol. I was surprised to see that this place is a chain. When we were in Concord...it kind of felt like this was a place exclusive to Concord. Nah, it's not. Thats ok tho. I got a smoothie at a coffee house in just outside Bar Harbor and it was absolute garbage. So it was nice to have one where they actually have you what you ordered. Most places in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire all allow dogs. I travel with my little Yorkie wherever I go. Alfred loves to travel haha! He is my child...seeing as I do not have any human kids. My dog is my life. So it's nice when you go into places and they welcome dogs. This place....does not tho. Thats boooo! HOWEVER! I TOTALLY understand! I TRULY do! I travel with my dog everywhere, but yes, I do realize this place is a restaurant and they all have their rules. I just love restaurants that allow dogs haha! I am not one of those psychos that will tear a place apart about not allowing dogs. I am one who actually respects policies like this. And yes, I bring my dog with me bc it's just me...and my dog. He is a 6lb Yorkie who I will never leave alone nor would I ever kennel him. I say all this bc so many people out there judge others who bring their dogs everywhere. He is a family member. He comes with me. Just go to this place wherever you run into one. It really is a great place. They were all SO nice in there even when they asked my take Alfie back outside. OH for the record too...I carry my little man everywhere with me. He's not like...running around everywhere...marking his territory lol Atmosphere in this location is very nice. Kinda dark and Lodgy feeling. Its nice. Located too in what I am assuming is a historic building. Noce view of the downtown area too if you take you lunch or whatever outside to their outdoor seating...which I am guessing is probably brought in now...seeing as it is almost December. Ok thats it. I know I rambled a lot here, but I feel it all fits with my review. I ramble a lot to begin with. If you read this...thank you! If you didn't...I will sleep in 5 mins and sleep like a baby :) Thank you The Works for a wonderful first experience. I live in Idaho. Wish we had you here. Thanks for reading YelperWorkers!
