(That woman's tongue is as sharp as the Devil's razor and twice as cruel) Rivers Edge has got everything you could want for stabbin, slashin, hackin and butchering the innocent. After a friend dropped one of my good knives and then stepped on it as he tried to pick it back up, I was left with a knife with no point. At first I was going to just pitch it, and then I remembered seeing River's Edge from Fishinger Road. I called them, and got a nice guy who sympathized with my situation. "Don't worry - we can re-grind it and put a new tip on for you." How much? "Oh, $3-3.50 depending on the size of the knife." I'd been expecting to hear $10-$20. I went over, and decided to take a couple other knives for sharpening since I would be there anyhow. The guys at Rivers' Edge took all four knives into their work area, let me know it might be few minutes, and as I browsed around, I could watch them testing, sharpening, repairing, and re-testing each knife. Despite the warning about a possible wait, they were done in fairly quick order, and the repaired knife looks and cuts great. My total bill for the repair and sharpening all four knives? $20, plus tax. Great bargain. They also had several deals for scissors, clippers, razors, kitchen knives, pocket knives, and actual swords, for those of you who are in the mood for SERIOUS cutlery. For those looking to care for knives you already have, they also sell sharpening and honing kits, whetstones, waterstones, knife vaults, butcher blocks, and some gorgeous hand made wooden cutting boards. I have to admit, after how cheap the repair and sharpening jobs were, I decided to make a couple of impulse purchases - a new magnetic knife block to hang in my kitchen (and hopefully prevent any other accidents!), and a new Forschner chef's knife that they had on sale. Dang it, I hate this place, cause I can't go in with my wallet. Really I have to leave my wallet in the car or give it to my wife to hold. My wife was out of town and that stimulus check got deposited, so I finally decided it was time for a new knife. I'm a big fan of benchmade knives. I have bought 3 over the past 22 years, I lost one 4-5years ago, still hurt like it happened yesterday. Then I gave my son the 1st one I bought as a Xmas gift this year. All theys (guys an gals) needs more that one knife, I settled on a new mini bugout. I also got some beard oil, and a sharpening stone. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. But as I'm going to the register I hear one of the staff telling a customer that starting April 10th, automatic opening knives will be legal for everyone in Ohio. So like I said, I hate this place because, now I'm compelled by the state of Ohio to get my first automatic opening knife. read more

They have everything from cooking knives to shaving knives. I took in 4 kitchen knives for sharpening, including a chef's knife that had been abused and had a raggedy edge. Andy did a regrind on the chef's knife and sharpened them all to a fine edge. I also picked up a magnetic strip for $15.99, so I won't have to store them in the drawer and tear up Andy's work. The total bill for sharpening 4 blades and the magnetic strip was only $30! I would definitely recommend them for service and they have a great selection of knives as well. read more

If you've ever been to Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge it's the massive knife store a couple of miles off the exit on the way in. Went to Rivers Edge Cutlery for the first time today. It was very easy to find and in a nice area. They carry great knife brands like Kershaw, Zero Tolerance, Benchmade and Microtech. They also have shaving equipment and carry Shun and Wüsthof kitchen knives. Cheap sharpening, under $4 for most, and free lifetime sharpening for knives bought at the location. I was treated like a valued customer from the time I stepped in a door til I left. Although I live two hours away, I will be proud to spend my money at this fine store. read more

I actually go to this store primarily for the wet shaving items. There is a small section of good items, and it's nice to be able to see and touch these things before buying. Very impressed! Top notch work at very reasonable prices. I took in my wustohf 8" chefs knife to be repaired after putting a dent in the blade (a little too aggressive splitting the bone on a strip loin) along with my 5" sanduku and 3" pairing to be sharpened as well.
