I had never been In this store before, but I need a really good knife to cut brisket. My husband had been cooking a brisket all day and I needed to be able to slice really thin. I walked in and told the guy exactly what I needed and I did not want to spend a fortune. He showed my a knife right in my budget and had it sharpened and ready to go in 5 minutes, The knife worked great! They also will sharpen my new knife for life. They will also sharpen in type of blade you have for a very small fee. Check it out!

These guys are the best. Whether you are in need of a new pocket knife, shaving gear or edc gear these guys have what you need. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. Pocket knives range from 10 to 1000+. Great selection for your budget.

River's Edge is my favorite store in the world. The staff goes the extra mile. Great customer service. I have shopped here for over ten years. Not just Cutlery and sharpening but anything for the blade enthusiast as well as flashlights, pens and other tools. Laser engraving and anodizing also a great service I have used. Thanks R.E.C. !

After a friend dropped one of my good knives and then stepped on it as he tried to pick it back up, I was left with a knife with no point. At first I was going to just pitch it, and then I remembered seeing River's Edge from Fishinger Road. I called them, and got a nice guy who sympathized with my situation. "Don't worry - we can re-grind it and put a new tip on for you." How much? "Oh, $3-3.50 depending on the size of the knife." I'd been expecting to hear $10-$20. I went over, and decided to take a couple other knives for sharpening since I would be there anyhow. The guys at Rivers' Edge took all four knives into their work area, let me know it might be few minutes, and as I browsed around, I could watch them testing, sharpening, repairing, and re-testing each knife. Despite the warning about a possible wait, they were done in fairly quick order, and the repaired knife looks and cuts great. My total bill for the repair and sharpening all four knives? $20, plus tax. Great bargain. They also had several deals for scissors, clippers, razors, kitchen knives, pocket knives, and actual swords, for those of you who are in the mood for SERIOUS cutlery. For those looking to care for knives you already have, they also sell sharpening and honing kits, whetstones, waterstones, knife vaults, butcher blocks, and some gorgeous hand made wooden cutting boards. I have to admit, after how cheap the repair and sharpening jobs were, I decided to make a couple of impulse purchases - a new magnetic knife block to hang in my kitchen (and hopefully prevent any other accidents!), and a new Forschner chef's knife that they had on sale. When I asked to handle a few different styles of knife to get the best balance, they were happy to let me try them on for size until I found the one I liked best. Even better? Once I purchased the knife, they let me know that any knife purchased there gets free sharpening as long as you own it - a service I look forward to taking advantage of!

The prices match the nearby Marshall's and TJ Maxx, obviously. But you can find some deals. I always check out the pet area for treats and toys. You can also find Darn Tough socks sometimes. When I was in the outdoor industry and needed new gear, STP was one of the first websites I'd check for gear. Even when my wife was an employee at a competing outdoor retailer (where I got a discount) I was still shopping online at STP. When I found out they were building a brick and mortar store here in Columbus I was beyond thrilled! As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. I even lucked out and found the perfect pair in store!

It popped in my head to try Dick's. I thought for sure they'd have one, considering it's an athletic store, and huge at that. I am a 53-yr-old woman with RA and fibro, and I severely strained the thigh, back, pelvis and groin areas. I had to use my cane to enter the store; I grabbed a small cart to lean on, as well. The guy standing near the entrance said hi, but didn't ask if I was looking for something specific. I looked around, lost, so looped back to him and asked where support belts and such would be. He told me they were located upstairs. He then mentioned an elevator, and pointed in the general direction. I knew I couldn't take the escalator, because I needed to lean on the cart at that point. I searched all over for the elevator, and nothing. I finally looped back around to the restroom sign, and eventually realized a small makeshift sign was taped to the wall, noting the elevator was down the corridor. It was very generic and not noticeable from afar. The elevator is way in the back, hidden, old, worn and it reeked inside. The #2 button was taped over, and only #3 or #1 could be pressed. I don't know why there is even a #3, but I chanced it anyway. It took me to level two. lol I finally found the wall where all of the braces were attached to, albeit quite far away from the elevator. The area is quite congested, and not really made for a cart to traverse. I was relieved to find the wall of braces...only to be let down. Out of all the rows and rows of braces, straps, support this and that, not one single item for the pelvis and/or groin. I didn't even see a spot where it's supposed to be, so I suspect they don't even carry them in-store. Additionally, I noticed there were no price labels anywhere, so it was a complete guessing game as to cost. In severe pain, I had to wobble away and get back to the 2nd floor. I took the escalator, and left the cart there. I didn't want to get back into the smelly, clunky, old-sounding elevator again. A young female employee saw me when I got to the bottom, and asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said, "No..." She just chuckled and said, "Oh..." I then replied, "I couldn't find what I was looking for..." She didn't say anything back. No offer to help, find another employee, etc. After going to a 3rd store, I gave up. I just ordered online and I get my brace tomorrow. I was just hoping to have one today, and maybe even try it on, to ensure it fits well, etc. Such a shame that Dick's didn't deliver. A huge store like that should have them as a no-brainer...and on the 2nd floor to boot. You'll have people coming in probably in pain, so why put them on the 2nd floor? lol Makes no sense. The employees need to be more connected and interactive. Lastly, that elevator is horrible. And please make signs which direct you from the point of entry all the way to the elevator! This is basic 101 stuff.

I ask an employee where the women's golf shoes are and he points to the other side of the store and keeps walking. But what really bothers me is that within minutes, I'm the ONLY customer in the store, with 3 employees...and I'm back looking at the shoes for a solid 10minutes and NO ONE comes to even check on me or see if I need anything! So, I have to go find someone to answer a few basic questions. I walk to the front of the store (only a few yards down the aisle and around the corner from the shoes) and there are all 3 guys just standing there, talking. I'd understand if they were closing down, or cleaning or with someone else... but nope. THEN, when I tell them I need help with shoes I have to basically guide one of them back to help me. To which he really only answers EXACTLY what questions I ask. No further information, no opinions, no details on anything. I left. Never going back there. I'll just buy on Amazon. I did go to Dicks afterwards (owned by the same company).. and had an AWESOME conversation about shoes, upcoming sales, selection etc. night and day difference. IF I have to go anywhere for golf stuff (that I don't order online)... I'd rather go to Dicks. How crazy is that?! Don't waste your time in this place.
