Update: Changing from 5 stars to 2 stars. Apparently good things don't stay good for too long. The quality of service went down significantly - whether because the place got more customers, or because different people are working there now. More to the point, over and over again my muffin comes to me cold. Even when I explicitly ask them to warm up my muffin better so it would not be cold in the middle, I still get it barely warm, and cold inside. When I ask them why they did not do what I asked, they argue that they warmed it long enough, as if the end result is not what actually matters, and as if it is not their job to make sure the muffin is warm. The ambiance of this place is everything I want from a coffee shop. Plenty of space for people to spread out and work and there are great areas for people to come and gather. I like how they have a variety of sizes for their drinks so you can just have a small cup if you don't need to be too amped up or you can get a massive drink if you need that caffeine hit. I tried the caramel and cardamom latte with oatmilk. I wish it was a little more spiced from the cardamom but the sweet, nutty caramel shown through! The coffee is good, the service is horrible. Been here twice and both times service was questionable. The first time got a scone and a dark chocolate mocha. Didn't even ask if I wanted to have it dine-in or to go, I thought they only had to-go when the person handed me the scone in plastic wrap while others sat indoors having their food. Visiting Redmond again after being away for 33 years. Too long! Anyway, my husband wanted to find some good coffee while we were here. At first he actually suggested that we stop at that coffee shop that starts with an 'S', but which shall remain unnamed. Blah. I'm not even going to discuss it. Clean, spacious and bright. The board had some cute names of coffees, and one stood out. 'Lord Mocha'. Sounded awesome, but we had no idea what was in it. So we asked, and I still couldn't tell you what was in it. But when she described it, it sounded amazing and we ordered two to go. Something like melted milk chocolate in the steamed milk and some dark chocolate involved. I tried looking on their website and Facebook page to get the ingredients, but sadly it isn't there. 12oz iced lavender honey latte with oat milk was $7+ including 15% tip. Even with the oat milk substitution, I wasn't quite expecting a 12oz to come to that much. The honey wasn't fully dissolved (there were small chunks in the drink), and I think they either forgot the lavender or it's very minimal compared to other lavender lattes. I've come here off and on over the last year or so. Their coffee is good and the service is also generally good. Sadly, today I visited them and the counter person was wearing her mask pulled down to her chin. I was wearing my mask, and asked her to pull hers up and said "I don't want you to be unprotected". She pulled it up then pulled it down as soon as I walked away from the counter. She made my drink and set it on the counter without a word. I approached after she moved away and asked if it was mine and she tossed a "yep" over her shoulder without even looking at me. There is a governor's mandate for businesses to wear a mask when dealing with customers. If this place wants to stay open, they need to adhere to the public health order. The coffee isn't very good. Shots pour a little too fast. Milk tastes re-steamed, watery. Foam is coarse and bubbly. Little attention is paid to quality product here. Instead the four-barista staff cackles and laughs and gossips seemingly nonstop, two or three of them talking all at once...should a customer need something, they look around and negotiate, "You got this guy? Should I make it? Ok." And then the gossiping and girlish chatter continues unabated. It's like totally oh my gawd how sweeeet haha like you know oh my gawd I can't even can you believe I mean like totally. The staff's personal beverages and oft-consulted smartphones clutter the counter. Stupid boots-and-pants EDM plays loudly, adding to an already obnoxious din and forcing customers to raise their voices to order. The coffee, the customers, the store, everything is second fiddle to their banal blabbering. There might be work enough for four people here, but I don't see it. I don't know what keeps mismanaged coffee shops like this open, with their poor quality product, over-staffed counters, the horrible customer service that makes customers feel like they're interrupting, the high priced real estate footprints, crap food offerings and annoying atmosphere. It's like there's no manager oversight here at all. Or perhaps just one without teeth. Yet, by the forest of laptops I see around me, this appears to be an office for many people. Perhaps they charge for WiFi. They better have some other oars in the water, because the lame coffee, stale pastries and obnoxious high school dance atmosphere aren't bringing them in. And no number of ironic gas fireplaces (it is an apt symbol and metaphor for this business-it's not an actual fireplace, but more like a tv with one channel that has the appearance of one) will get me to come back. The appearance of quality is not the reality of quality. You have to actually SERVE good coffee, not just appear to have good coffee, to see more of my business. So: Buh-bye. Not recommended. Unless you hate coffee and do your best work in noisy school cafeterias. read more

Staff is super friendly every time I go in! Coffee is really great - I'd highly recommend the Irish Mess, never had anything like it anywhere else and it's now my go-to at that place. I used to like the honey cardamom coffee at Urban Lounge coffee and lavender latte at Zoka coffee but this place beats both of them. Their lavender and honey latte is an excellent combination: good acroma from lavender and coffee together with the well balanced sweetness from honey and a bit bitterness from the coffee. Even this is not a traditional coffee but I can tell how good quality of the beans is, very fresh! There's something else in the drink, like a herb but I couldn't recall for a name. Next time I will try their traditional coffee to see how actually good the beans are. The place is quite spacious with plenty of seatings. You can go there as a group or just alone, many different choices for you. Since the roast the beans in house so the place is always filled with awesome coffee smell. read more

Love me my Saturday morning coffee... and I love the cozy and spacious atmosphere here. Me and my coffee buddy sat in front of the fireplace on a chilly March Saturday morning and it was just the right amount of crowded. I had the drip coffee in a cozy mug and my date had a white chocolate mocha. I also had the spinach and cheese quiche that they get from Hoffman's Bakery... yum...!!! I love that they are opened so early every day. They also have a great coffee selection and it was easy to find street parking. The other breakfast sandwiches were really expensive (over $7 for a breakfast sandwich...) and the coffee was REALLY strong. It was really delicious, and I love really strong coffee... but this gave me some heart palpitations! I'll come back but possibly for a latte next time. The coffee is a hit or miss. I feel that they have too many inexperienced individuals making coffee here. When I pay ~$7+ for ONE coffee, I expect it to be perfect. These guys used to have good lattes . But they have new owners and they really seem to hire no skills baristas . When she was frothing the milk it was making this spitting sound , you know she doesn't know what the was doing when you hear that. My latte had about an inch of foam , the milk underneath was just warmed . No micro foam of any kind. The point of late art is to show that you have frothed the milk properly. Which was clearly noT possible here . My friend and I left and had our second coffee somewhere el I came on a second time. The dude making the coffee had long unwashed hair , not wearing any hair net . But worse the a tad of dandruff in my late , he just didn't know how to make it , and he didn't even care. I've tried a couple of coffee drinks here - espresso, drip, iced coffee, latte, American, and espresso with milk -- and just never liked any of them.
