Had an urge for a late morning, coffee, stopped in here for a quick drip coffee to go. Recall, it's much better to sit and have a cup of coffee in a ceramic mug at this place. I didn't have the luxury, so it was to go. The person taking orders was very friendly, very engaging, excellent service. The drip coffee was very good, I really enjoyed it. Not a bad store front business that serves coffee creations and pastries. Their flavors are their own they do not compare to any other coffee places. There is no parking but street parking, so expect to wait a while. The service was awesome! Everyone is accommodating and tries their best to make your creation as best they can. Great coffee and the egg muffins are made to order! They use fresh ingredients and the egg was actually seasoned. You can add on avocado and tomato for extra. The weekend morning rush can be very busy, but usually if you just wait a little, you will be able to sit down. There's seating inside with some small chairs and tables outside. read more

Was surprised to see how packed this shop was on a Monday at 9AM, which speaks to their ambiance as a solid coffee/work place. I tried the recommended Cafe Stefano, which was a blend of cinnamon, vanilla, and hazelnut on top of their coffee with orange peels; the cinnamon was mild but did overpower the remainder of the flavors (as expected). Would call this a slightly above average drink. I could see this becoming part of the rotation but not the star of the show type of coffee spot. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Redmond! The coffee is high quality and very consistent quality regardless of who the barista is that day. It can be hard to get a table on the weekends, but I have had good luck early afternoon on work days. There is always something working from here so you can comfortably do some work here if that's what you are looking to do. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

I was here for 3 hours doing a bit of work, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I've worked out of coffee shops for 30 years. I especially liked that they had a proud American flag flying in their coffee shop, which I thought was fantastic, particularly since they are located in western Washington, land of blue hair and septum rings, 'barf'! The service was good, and the coffee was great, which is saying something. The workspace was great, with standing desks and wifi that didn't have a ridiculous, pointless password. Popular place in downtown redmond! With such high reviews had to give it a go. They have a decent offering of baked goods, breakfast items and of course coffees. Ordered a caramel latte ; (16oz largest they go) one hot and one iced. The iced was great, good flavor. The hot left a little something to be desired, had a good velvet quality but (1) came out at what I would consider a kid's drink temperature (note get it extra hot next time) and (2) had a nutty flavor I wasn't expecting, most likely due to their caramel sauce. Next trip I'd try their food and go strictly for their iced lattes. Place was packed, lots of folks working on laptops but overall a solid choice. read more

I came here around 7am for some breakfast and I got the avocado toast with lemon on the side and it was so good!! Along with the 8 oz hot matcha latte I got was the perfect amount of sweetness and matcha. My sister also got an avocado toast and tea, our total was $34 which is not bad for two people! This coffee shop is excellent. I travel for work and fortunately when I'm in Redmond this cafe is a block away from the office. My coworker and I go every day we are in town even some days, twice a day. My go to is the Stefano and an avocado toast but I've tried other coffee drinks and every one of them is great. It's hard to find a coffee shop that delivers a great coffee consistently but they always do. In addition the staff is always friendly. If you ever get the chance you should stop by. read more

This location also does good latte art and the vibe feels very cozy inside with a lot of good seating to catch up with a friend or work inside. This is a coffee shop with some specialty drinks, drinks beyond the standard latte, etc. I got the Cafe Stefano which is a latte with hazelnut syrup and Ceylon cinnamon, finished with a spritz of orange for an added citrus flavor. It is fairly flavorful and delicious - all the flavors combined well. The latte art was perfect. It was great that I found a spot to do some work, as it was quite busy. Service and coffee are both great! Came here to do some work because they have free wifi, which was strong and worked well. I got a mocha and it was made perfectly, with a nice touch of latte art as well. The seating area is large with plenty of seating, but I didn't like that the music was too loud, so don't expect to be able to take a professional meeting here. Another thing to note - this seems to be linked to a church because they were playing Christian pop the entire time I was there, and I also saw posters for church in the bathroom. I'm not too sure about this place, because all the seats are always full with people quietly working/studying. I've lived in Redmond for a while now, and I've never gotten a seat at this place. I like the drinks, though, and I like the half off day old pastries. It seemed like there were lots of regulars; the baristas would know some people's drinks before the customers said anything. I don't think there's a better coffee place than 5 Stones in the Redmond area. Their Hazelnut Mocha and Hazelnut Latte both are delicious. This is the first time I tried Kouign-amann. I enjoyed every morsel of it - definitely an amazing pastry. My only regret is that they couldn't warm it up given the closing time. I believe it might be a seasonal thing and it may not always be available. The place has a good sitting area and I always see people coming here and working.Good environment to work. The ambiance is perfect for working, and I appreciate the extra touch of serving dine-in coffee in ceramic cups instead of paper. I've sat and worked here myself many times. Though I'd love to try other drinks, I keep coming back to this signature option--the hint of orange zest shines through beautifully. If you've never had orange in your coffee, give it a try!
