If I could give zero stars I would!! Went in to pick up a prescription. It was already put back. I showed him a text message stating that I had 2 more days until it would be put back and cashier responded "sometimes those messages are wrong". I've switched all of prescriptions out of Rite Aid except for this one and there is always a problem. They can't ever get the Rx coupons to go through but all of the other pharmacy's don't have a problem. They put Rx back before the allotted time you have. I thought instead of wasting these 30 min of my life because rx was put back I'd pick up a few things. Shelves are empty..literally empty!! They deny that they're shutting down but they might as well. Worst place in town!! read more

Prepare for a rant: I quit going here a decade ago. When I was diagnosed with diabetes and they refused to fill a prescription for me because I didn't know the name of the medication. This week my son was prescribed a pain killer because he had his wisdom teeth pulled along with bone grafts because they were impacted. When CVS who I prefer to use told me they didn't have the med and couldn't just transfer the script I panicked. I couldn't get ahold of yuba cities western dental oral surgeon to transfer it and I called my local dentist. He prescribed a days worth of painkillers and sent it to rite aid for me. Meanwhile the yuba city oral surgeon sent the 5 day script to rite aid also but spelled my son's last name wrong. I told the pharmacist at right aid the whole story when I got there and that I didn't need the day script if the 5 day one could be filled even with the misspelled name. They refused and told me I'd need to contact my dentist again to fix it. So I got the days worth of painkillers for my son and went home to take care of him after a long day of oral surgery and pharmacy insanity. The next day I worked all day. Called the western dental at my lunch they swore to call me back and didn't. Called rite aid tried speak with the pharmacist and explain. He treated me like a drug addict seeking drugs. Questioning why I needed more after I'd gotten the days worth. I tried to explain and he kept talking circles. Set me off cussing. The stress the anxiety and the stupidity was more then I could handle. Eventually he asked me if I spoke English. Racist? After more cussing he finally says to me if I bring my son's I.d. and the address matches the script he will fill it. Really!?... Wtf rite aid why would you not have said that in the first place I'd never needed the day script like I fricken said. See I'm cussing again and just writing this has me livid. F u rite aid for making what was already a stressful time in my life even worse. read more

This is the worst pharmacy around. They do not respect your time or medical necessities. They refused to give my elderly mother her cancer medication several times and my teenage daughter her anti depressants twice, but suddenly were able to fill everything when my buff, 6 foot 4 white brother went in and asked for them. The pharmacy here is absolutely horrible as everyone else is saying. Understaffed, everyone working at the pharmacy is in a bad mood and gives you attitude. I can hardly blame them, as I imagine they are set up for failure by the horrible management and understaffing. Anyway, don't come here if you want a relaxed and easy experience. My car batterie died in the parking lot near this store. My phone batterie was also down to 21% I was having a rough day to say the least, After waiting on the tow company 1 1/2 hours, I knew my phone would be dead before they would get to me. I went into Rite Aid to buy a charger and ask if I might plug it in there. Richard Helped me by searching for the right charger because my phone is older. When it would not charge fast enough on the "Photo" computer, He provided a personal wall plug for me to speed things up. Richard, I am so grateful you were there in my crisis. I was able to charge my phone and respond to the tow company and get home! Your caring customer service made all the difference to me, calmed my racing heart and I could trust things would be ok. I put one star only because there's not an option for zero. Do not use Rite Aid pharmacy, I repeat do not use their pharmacy. I have been waiting for two months for heart medication and they are unable to fill it in a timely manner I was told it would be filled within an hour I waited three and it was still not filled go somewhere else that's going to actually fill your medication's. She is beyond rude. This whole pharmacy is staffed by rude people who don't care about your time OR your health. It is sad to see one the best Rite Aid stores in the district sink to such depths. This has been going on longer than the COVID issue. The pandemic only made it worse. My biggest problem is securing my monthly supply of pain medication, Oxycodone. The most recent problem is occuring now. There are 28 days allowed between prescriptions. The prescription is submitted a couple of days early so it will be filled on time. Evidently the staffing in the Grass Valley store is so lacking that they can't answer the phone. Yesterday (Saturday) I called and stood in line , both. However, I couldn't wait for the 7 customers ahead of me to be served because my back couldn't stand the pain. This has been by far the worst pharmacy experience EVER ! 1. The ladies sat around chatting cackling never once acknowledged I was there !!!! 2. I went back to the line where I originally was helped and told to go to the other " drop off line " mind you my prescription was called in " she then pointed back to the drop off cackling ladies line ! 3. I was told it would be 2 hours 4. 3 1/3 hours later I I arrive AGAIN WAIT IN LINE AGAIN for 17 min Guess what ???! Still not ready !!! 5. This time the lady who is working the pick up line , disappears and the poor girl working drive thru has to do both !!!!! So my one star is 100% for her ! 6. I'm now attempting the drive thru ! Thank you Amber for being an outstanding employee who went above and beyond. Your kindness truly exceeds all others at this location. It's truly understanding if a place gets busy , but to put customers at ease " follow what amber did" the entire written gripes above would have been avoided ! Horrible pharmacy service, was sent there for a prescription and was told it didn't exist. After calling my doctor and confirming the prescription had been called in again I went back in and was told the order would be ready before they closed at 8. I went in 2 hours later at 6:50 and was told to check back in tomorrow as they were closing in ten minutes. There were three people sitting around doing nothing and I asked if they could do something about filling my prescription and I was interrupted with "we're very busy and short staffed so maybe it'll be ready by tomorrow" Horrible pharmacy customer service and very rude and condescending pharmacy clerks read more

I'm absolutely disgusted with the service my mother received from this location. She's 72 years old and has problems getting to town. She hasn't been able to pick up her medication in weeks. She's tried calling numerous times to see if she could have her medication mailed but no one answers the phone. On Friday she came to the store and waited in line for several minutes. When it was her turn in line the pharmacist turned her away because it was time to close. I've worked in customer service over 20 years and you simply DON'T DO THAT! If you have clients waiting in line, and it's five minutes til closing, you need to either tell those clients in line that the pharmacy is closed, or take the extra two minutes to grab their medicine and ring them up. She waited in line and was turned away at the register. AWFUL. Now she's even sicker because she doesn't have the medication and can't get to town to pick it up. You blew it rite aid. This is not how you treat your customers. Shame on you. read more

I have twice made an appointment on-line for a flu shot with Rite Aid Pharmacy in Grass Valley. I filled out a considerable amount of paperwork on-line. This included my phone number & email address. The first time I went in, their "system" wasn't working & thus they couldn't give me the shot. The second time I went in, they couldn't give me the shot because they were short staffed & felt they didn't have time to help me. My beef is neither time did they phone or email me to cancel my appointment, they just let me show up. This is the worst customer service ever! They need a system to contact their customers should an appointment need to be changed. I noticed both times, the store was very uncrowded. If the pharmacy staff can't call or email to cancel an appointment, surely one of the store clerks can be asked to make a simple call or email. Advice: try one of Dokimo's Pharmacy locations. Rude. I asked when my Rx would be ready and told them I needed it first thing in the morning. It had been 2 days since my doctor faxed in my scrip. I was told that it wouldn't be ready until the following day and then not first thing that morning but whenever they got to it. I would have accepted them letting me know that they were behind or swamped, but what I got was a lecture on how other customer's medications were more important then what I take. This came from both clerk Terrie and the pharmacist. No one but my doctor and I know for what purpose I take a medication. So how does the pharmacy dept. feel they can judge who's medications are a priority? And how do they allow themselves to be terribly rude to someone in need? read more

I live in Sacramento and love the Rite Aid near my house which is why I'm constantly amazed at how bad the service is at this Rite Aid. My elderly Mom uses this location and the prescriptions are never ready or only one will be when u r waiting on three. They call when they r not ready or they call when u've already picked up the prescription. No matter what experience I have here it is consistently BAD. Don't go here I got a response from their general headquarters asking me to seek them out to further discuss my bad experience...I say if ur that interested U should call me. I have been a regular customer at this rite aid for over 11 years. My experiences have always been satisfactory until this year. They are shamefully understaffed which has gradually degraded their service. I messaged customer service on Twitter as recommended and was told someone from corporate would contact me. I have not heard back. My message asked when corporate would staff this location. They've stopped answering the phone at the pharmacy. I order prescriptions online and must call to move them along. Now they've stopped answering. Today the rx I ordered 5 days ago had not been ordered so was not ready. Inhaler for my COPD. Neolithic Incompetence. I have been trying to get my prescription filled for three successive months now. Each time I attempt to do this they are unable to refill it prior to it running out. The first time I ordered 4 days in advance, assuming 4 business days was enough to put 30 pills in a bottle. Not so. The second time I requested the refill 7 prior running out, once again, they were unable to refill it on time. I assumed surely 10 days lead time would be enough, once again I was wrong. When I asked to speak with the pharmacist to learn if there was anything I could be doing to ensure I don't go without my medication for several days each month. He was remarkably unhelpful and disgustingly smug. He wouldn't give me a straight answer regarding what sort of lead time I would need to ensure I could continue having my medication daily. I asked him four times each time he explained how busy they are but offered precisely no resolution or answer. Then told me that we were talking in circles because I continued to ask what should I do? This is a medical circumstance. I'm not interested in hearing your reasoning for performing so incredibly poorly in your career. I'm blown away that the pharmacist's taste for righteous indignation superseded his ability to explain how to work with his organization to maintain medical congruency. In an attempt to call them to discuss it with Christina the pharmacy manager, 45 minutes of attempts to reach them by phone, no answer in the pharmacy, and the front desk that answers tell me all they can do is try. These guys are deliberately designed to accommodate the pharmacist's desire to not give two squirts of piss about your medical needs. read more

First time using this pharmacy. My doctor called in a 90 day supply of 5 medications. When I got home, I discovered that I was only provided with a 30 day supply. When I called in to question, I was told that when they put in my prescription for 90 days it was declined by insurance. I was advised that I should contact my insurance company, so I did and was told that I am entitled to a 90 day supply, but Rite Aid does not have a contract with Anthem Blue Cross to fill 90 days. So I called back the pharmacy and asked why they did not tell me the situation when I picked up medication so I could have addressed it before leaving the store. Clerk on the phone said "Ya, they should have", but in the mean time they are not willing to do anything to resolve the problem that they caused. read more

On a positive note, this Rite Aid is one of the very nicest ones inside in terms of selection, and organization that I have been to. Up to date decor, nice lighting, and a large feeling make this store a nice surprise in Grass Valley....a town with its share of dated stores. I found the employees to be ok, nothing too awful or great. The exterior of the store and parking lot are just ok. The parking lot has a lot of straight in spots and iffy traffic flow which means you need to pay good attention when parking or leaving. The whole Sutton way shopping district is congested and has too much going on...in too little of an area. Not a huge fan of Rite Aid's bank style check out which makes full cart trips to the checkout area a hassle for both employee and customer. read more

I used to shop at rite aid all theme. I had a 20% off anytime card which was awesome, I bought everything there - toilet paper, detergent, groceries, make uo, candy, etc. Spent about $200 per month. The pharmacist did a great job with all of our immuniztionsThen all of a sudden there was no more 20% off, just some points on a few items. Pharmacy was usually out of some things and had to come back several times. They didn't answer their phone. Everything needs to be done on their website, which took a while to figure out. Now a lot of their shelves are empty, their restroom is locked snd you have to stand in line at the checkout to get the key sometimes there is only one girl at the checkout. I do need day that the checkout men and ladies are always friendly and courteous, hence the three stars. Not so at the pharmacy. I hear customers all the time yelling at the pharmacy help. Sometimes there is no pharmacist at all. They no longer have appointments for covid boosters. I now do all my prescriptions mail order and shop for my other needs at CVS. Walgreens is my go-to for immunizations. Sorry, I miss the OLD Rite Aid. read more

(Pharmacy:) Rude staff, Outrageous waits, Wires always crossed regarding when prescriptions are/aren't ready, always leading to more waiting. They will text or call you saying something is ready, then tell you 45 minutes when you arrive--and they won't tell it to you cordially either. It's as if they go out of their way to be unhelpful. This is not a one-off experience either--it's reliably been this way for the whole 6 months I went there. The CVS is much better in every way. PS: Everything besides the pharmacy is fine, but the pharmacy is bad enough to undo the rest hard enough to warrant a 1/5 overall. I'd give less if I could. Wow. The anger. I called in 3 days ahead for med's . The kind you cant go without. The lady was extra rude. Just fowl mean scowl on her face. Totally uncalled for. My 2 month old son received his vaccinations today, and had a prescription for infant Tylenol sent here. When my fiancée went to pick it up (about 2 hours after the order got sent, they turned him away and told him it would take at least another hour. Meanwhile my poor baby had to wait in pain due to the soreness of his injection sites. My fiancée went in about an hour and a half later, the staff filling prescriptions looked at him annoyed, walked around the counter past him to an aisle, grabbed medication off the shelf, went back around the counter, slapped the prescription sticker on the box and completed the transaction for the medication. Had we known it was just an over the counter prescription, we could have saved our baby some discomfort and just got the medication ourselves when he originally needed it without all the attitude from customer service representatives as well. read more

I am driven to my first yelp after two terrible experiences with the covid vaccine at this store. Today all the vax customers waited over an hour. The pharmacist was back and forth between pharmacy and vaccinations. They were one pharmacist short and the vaccine serums were still defrosting. Sitting there for so long, i saw one customer after another come to pick up their prescriptions and most orders were not ready at the appointed hour. We all have days like this and they require a bit of humor, sincere apology, and frequent updates for those who are waiting. The pharmacy staff were not friendly or forth coming about what was going on. In fact they were abrupt, non-communicative, and dismissive--people need their meds, so i guess the staff doesn't have to worry about customer service. Let me first say that I have never had a bad experience at this store with any member of staff. that being said, I attempted to Return an item I'd purchased just the day before. I didn't keep my receipt but figured they'd check my purchase using my debit card and refund the money to the card. I never used the item, still brand new in the package. I was told they could not refund my money without a receipt nor could they put it back on my card. That threw me off as it's pretty standard practice. They could; however, put the money to a gift card which I could use. No problem, I shop there very regularly. Then they said the card could only be used at that specific store. Ok, the refund practice is drawing further and further away from the norm but again, ok, I shop there all the time, in fact, I went in there with the intent of making some purchases. Then I see the money placed on the card. It was about half what I paid for the item. I was shocked and brought that to the clerk's attention. Only then was I told that I would be refunded at whatever lowest sale price that item had ever been. I told them I didn't pay a sale price and asked that he scan the item, he did and saw for himself that I paid twice what he meant to refund me. I told him I literally bought the item the day before and asked that he scan my debit card but he said "that's outlet policy". I talked with two additional people above the young man's head but neither was willing to check my debit card and refund me the correct amount. I was asked if I was. A preferred customer and I told them I was. I told to come back the next day and speak with the manager, Richard. I don't intend to drive another hour round trip to speak to a manager who will again repeat the same message. instead, I came online to leave a review and was shocked to see their average score is 1.5 stars! At first I thought it must be their lowest score. Nope! It's the AVERAGE Score! In my many years of working professionally with businesses and chambers of commerce I have NEVER seen such a slow score!! Richard, my friend, you are doing something wrong! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Based on your reviews, I'm quite certain I'm not the first customer that will never again shop at your store, nor at any other Rite Aid if it's company policy throughout. I feel for your employees. The only reason I go here is because they're a GNC supplier. Their customer service is atrocious and their floor managers are rude. It's really frustrating seeing a corporate store run so poorly. I would stay away at all costs unless you are trying to test your patience. I don't know if this is a chronic issue with all Rite Aid stores or if this location is just particularly sucky. I have been using Rite Aid pharmacy for some time. When I first started going, it was a nightmare! I had a pretty frustrating issue when my prescription had been called in by my doctor, but they would not release it to me because they said it was a 30 day cycle. Problem was that the day that I dropped it off, I was out of my medication. The girls don't take into consideration that there were 31 days in the particular month. They refused to actually look at my history. They don't look at the calendar to see the actual number of days in each month. I hated it! JP is nothing short of amazing. He works so hard. He has a positive attitude, he is honest, and you can see he loves what he does. He always takes his time and explains any issues that may come up. If JP left, I would follow him.
