I had a great experience at the CVS in Grass Valley! The store was exceptionally clean, well organized, and fully stocked, making it easy to find everything I needed. What really stood out, though, was the outstanding customer service from Kim Kilroy. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the store. She took the time to answer my questions, point me in the right direction, and made sure I found exactly what I was looking for. It's refreshing to receive such genuine, attentive service these days. I had bought $15 of Burt'sBees products and received $5 coupon off my next purchase. I couldn't use it. Then the manager (a lady) was trying to explain to me about how to use CVS coupons. I've use CVS coupons for years and understood that my next purchase with this coupon was $5 off. This manager tried to convince me that I needed to buy **another** $15 in Burts Bees before I could use my coupon. The cashier was in tears (sweet soul!). And the manager was insane or trying her best at gaslighting. I was sick with sadness when I left. Without using my $5 coupon, of course. I go there again tomorrow. My insurance changed a couple of months ago. I called to update to my new insurance and was told they couldn't do that on the phone. I tried again to change it in store, but this time was told my medications were authorized so everything was fine. Well, two months later I got a bill for $500 for medication billed after our insurance terminated. Meaning they billed the wrong insurance and now I have to pay for it. When I called the pharmacist repeatedly interrupted me, seemed irritated by my call, and basically told me that couldn't have happened. Unfortunately for me it did. read more

Pharmacy is useless. Despite numerous requests to renew all our prescriptions at the same time, they can never seem to get the message. Despite getting calls that prescriptions are ready for pickup, I have to wait for them to be filled EVERY TIME. On top of that, this branch of CVS breaks CA law regarding e-prescriptions. The morons behind the desk still think that submitting an eFax is the same as an e-prescription. A Fax is analog and while you can submit a fax over a computer (i.e., eFax) it's still analog. Also, it forces my Primary Physician to submit a proof of why my prescription is being renewed by a non-electronic method. When confronted with this repeated and continuous problem, one of the staff (Kayla) became a giant Cee yoU Next Tuesday and threatened me with being banned from the store. She continues to make comments to other staff when I turn up for my prescriptions and goes so far as to antagonize and provoke me into saying something so she can ban me. A Manager is never available to make a complaint and after this last bitch fest and incomprehensible incompetence she pulled, I am seriously considering changing my prescriptions to mail only. I don't like doing that as I like to support local businesses and jobs, but Kayla's attitude ruins the day. read more

This place is centrally located with big Safeway, Mexican restaurant and coffee Cafe [just to name a few]. They have a wide selection of beauty products, over the counter medicines, in store pharmacy and good deals on liquor. Although they are short staffed the employees that work there are awesome and hard working. Thanks to Jose M (manager) for helping out wherever is needed! Ps. I didn't say anything on my last visit, but this was the second time a month apart. Understaffed, and the company thinks by installing electronic self-check machines that one human cashier is enough. Then, when the one cashier is not happy... Such was Alexis. The main issue though is the coupons they send in the mail that never seem to apply to any merchandise in the store - irregardless of what the coupon says. Even the 30% off coupon that says "30% off your entire purchase" is totally useless at the register... about the Sutton Way, Grass Valley pharmacy : There were a few weeks recently when this pharmacy was well staffed and efficient. Now they are back to their old tricks. Waiting lines out the front door, elderly people needing to get a shopping cart to lean on while waiting maybe as much as 45 minutes. The 30 minute closure for their lunch hour is ridiculous, sometimes changes from week to week. 10-15 minute wait time they mention will be about 45 At the checkout up front the cashier is usually in another part of the store unpacking boxes or whatever, and you need to go and find him if you don't want to self-check. They do have a good notification for ready prescriptions by text, but be sure to let them know if you don't want automatic refills or they will bug you for weeks to come and pick up something you didn't order. They won't answer their phone. You need to leave a call back number if you want to speak to a pharmacist and he will call you back within 24 hours and will usually solve any problems you have. Also every time I have tried to make a reservation for vaccinations the website will send me to YubaCity, a 60 mile round trip for me. Other pharmacies in my area are not much better except for Walgreen's excellent vaccination service. read more

A year ago, this place would be a clear candidate for one star, but the new pharmacist they snatched from Walgreens is an impressive individual. He keeps the ball rolling and is the most efficient pharmacist I've ever seen. The new staff are generally better and friendlier than their employees in the past. A couple of stars off because even though the lead pharmacist is an absolute champ at dealing with the long lines and challenges, they are still understaffed and understocked. But the improvements they've made overall in quality of personnel have impressed the hell out of me. The lines are just as long as ever, but when they had more staff in the past, it would be a compliment to say it took twice as long as now or that their attitudes were half as pleasant. If they keep up the improvements at this rate, I'll be changing my review to 5 stars in not too long from now. Keep up the good work! read more

Ordered a prescription to be mailed to me. When it didn't arrive and the tracking info came back with an error message, I followed up with them as I had just run out of meds. Their tech person told me the package was mislabeled so USPS returned it to them. It was paid for but they could not print another shipping label so just come in and get it. But I'm 30 mins away. The fact that no one called me to explain the situation as soon as they received the returned package says a lot about their operation. Seems from all the bad reviews like a regional manager needs to come in and fix things here. read more

Don't try CVS Pharmacy. There's typically 1 person handling pick up. The line is always long. The clerk chats forever~line increases. Often you're next and they say, "There's another line and another person is 1st!" They'll tell you it will be ready in and hour. You come back and it takes longer. It took CVS well over 24 hours to process paxlovid for my covid. My household is also infected. I asked for home delivery and was told no. I asked if it could be brought to me in the parking lot and was told no. I was told to come in the store for pickup even though I am a senior with covid. This review is for Jeremy in particular. My doctor had increased a dose of my medicine and I asked for it to be called in to CVS Grass Valley as I had recently moved from Reno. She didn't update the increased dose (or call in to new CVS) so when I ran out of meds the insurance denied it as it was 'too soon for refill'. Jeremy took the time to call the insurance and get a manual override and filled it that day. He was very kind and courteous and I just wanted his manager's to know. :) read more

There is a problem for seniors needing to get their meds delivered. Under the new system, one needs to use a smart phone with the right "app" and texting capacity to get meds delivered. (As a senior, I use the "Jitterbug" flip because it offers the 5-star system to get help in an emergency and am not comfortable with "smart phones.") That leaves me and, I assume, many other retirees out of the loop when it comes to having necessary meds delivered on time. In San Francisco, Uber is employed for the delivery of meds. Too bad Grass Valley doesn't have a similar cab delivery system! read more

This pharmacy and EVERYONE who works there are idiots, under educated and straight rude. They will hang up on you, roll their eyes and bicker (they think they can't be heard). I've never dealt with a more unprofessional pharmacy nor have I ever been treated so terrible. My dr called them to give them "refills" even though I had a partial left. They were also clueless and idiots speaking to my dr. They figured it out. The rest of my partial was filled at the Paradise store which was closed down due to the Camp Fire. So I never picked it up. They won't fill the rest of my partial cause the other store can't release it. THEY ARE F*ING CLOSED DOWN. I expressed my disgust with this pharmacy and the girl who answered "can I help you" hung up on me. Like really? If you morons would get your sh*t together I wouldn't be upset over getting my med filled. After they figure out my partial I will never return to this useless pharmacy. I'm shocked any of them have a job with the lack or respect and understanding. I have been denied by Emily, and then approved by Jeremy in the same visit, his patience and diligence...his compassion the difference. Having only Emily on staff last night, I was denied my medication, she attempted to bill me, despite my insurance clearly stating I was covered...I'm going through withdrawal now as I seek another pharmacy with more people like Jeremy. Ordinarily I don't give negative reviews--I just no longer patronize the establishment. I vote with my wallet. Health care is different. We are forced by our insurance to use this pharmacy exclusively. In the last few years we have watched service continue to deteriorate. So far there is only one rude person. Most of staff are polite and helpful. However, their work flow and process offends most of their clientele. Often we receive phone calls saying our perscription is ready. It has never been ready. I am not exaggerating-- never, not once. Apparently CVS/Caremark makes the calls based on a formula that has nothing to do with the local pharmacy. With one exception the staff bends over backwards to make things work but it appears like CVS/Caremark has somehow crippled this local operation. I see so many people get angry. read more

I made an appointment online (as recommended) for my flu shot at 9:30 am. In order to speed the process up it is recommended to complete the insurance information online - Done. I also checked in online, as recommended. They verify my info, appointment, insurance and zero co-pay. Now it is 9:20 am and they tell me, "We will start the vaccines at 10 AM. That's right 10 AM!! Why to you offer appointment beginning at 9 AM if you don't start the entire process until 10?!?! read more
