I'm upgrading my review because even though the phone system is horrible if you talk to a live person they will usually do their best. I would not even give them one star if it was possible. Look at their ratings, not one 3, 4 or 5 star review. That says it all. No customer service allowed. One exception is for Jeremy. He treats the customers as if he owned the place. The rest of the crew needs to take numerous classes on customer service and what that entails. I always am made to feel like I'm bothering them. Maybe they should be self subscribing themselves medicine that makes them happier people, that enjoy their job. I recently had the WORST customer experience ever trying to refill a Rx at this pharmacy. There was an issue with transferring my son's Rx from one CVS to this one and, although the attendant on the phone told me they would have it ready in an hour, two days later I appeared to find not only did they screw up the Rx that was to be transferred, but that one of the managers, Shauna (?) CANCELLED it without anyone bothering to call, text or email me. I waited for an hour in a crowded store that did not practice social distancing with really RUDE STAFF. They eventually gave me the Rx, only to get home to find it's the wrong one! Don't bother wasting your time. read more

Prices here are ridiculously marked up. Purchased a 1 ounce tube of special ointment for poison oak for $45 but found after checking on Amazon.com the exact same item was $24 !!! Don't waste your money here. read more

This Pharmacy LOST two of my prescriptions a few months back. Right before I needed to file police report they miraculously found them. However, just to get prescriptions filled (that they disagreed with) they would not fill them until I showed them private doctor-patient privileged information. Then, the next month after the particular pharmacist that I had to show that information to left, they pulled it again. Now they won't fill my prescriptions unless my doctor tapers me off medication that I need. Not that it's their business but I'm an amputee who's had over a hundred surgeries, 5 knee replacements, and rods and plates, and screws in various parts of my body. They are also violating HIPAA by asking my doctor's office for private information that they do not need. They have violated my Patients Bill of Rights. They're violating California state law. And they were really rude about it, I felt like she ENJOYED making me cry. I guess everything I've been through isn't enough for them. I will now be hiring a lawyer. I understand that the world is going crazy about opiate addiction. But some of us DO actually need these medications. CVS should be ashamed of themselves for trying to involve themselves in the patient's private doctor patient privileged information. Store policy does not Trump California state law. read more

Several weeks ago, I purchased a prescription at the Grass Valley store, #9155 - a one-time purchase. When I started getting refill reminder robo-calls, which sometimes woke me up, I started trying to find a way to stop them. I selected that response option on some of the calls. I have called CVS HQ and asked to have them stopped. I have called the store twice, asking the robo-calls to be stopped, and was told that they would be stopped - but still they come! Why is CVS not competent to stop these unwanted, automated calls? read more

Worst pharmacists ever. Don't come here with an emergency - thankfully I wasn't having a full on asthma attack at the time. I came here to get a box of Asthmanefrin (otc inhalation solution), I knew they had it because a friend of mine literally picked one up the day before. I was told very bluntly there are no otc's for asthma, and that's it. Not one of the four pharmacists on duty knew of asthmanefrin, nor did they offer any other possible solution. Had to drive home to get the name (which I didn't know initially) and drive back, find it myself, and when I returned to the pharmacy counter to at least show them they DID in fact have it, so MAYBE they can help someone who is actually having an emergency attack, they were still extremely rude, unapologetic, and dismissive. This place is the most disorganized, unprofessional, and infuriating place to get medication. They frequently screw up the pill counts, and then blame the customer. They are constantly out of stock on common medications so you must wait days for prescriptions. The customer service provided can not be called service in any way. Unless you are forced to go here by your insurance company don't go or only as a last resort. If you do go, make them count out the medication. When they short you, and they will, it will be your fault. They have had to admit to shorting me before. I do not understand how they do business. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I had to switch to them because Rite Aid no longer takes Blue Shield. I was told at the CVS pharmacy that they were having trouble getting my prescription from Rite Aid and that it would be a few hours before it was ready. I asked if they wanted my insurance information, to which I was told "just give it to us when you pick it up". Then I never heard back if it was ready. I call the next day and I'm told by an extremely rude lady they can't fill it without my insurance information. I give her that and come in a few hours later. Then I'm told they can't find my prescription. Finally after waiting at the counter for twenty minutes, they find it. That evening I go to take my medicine and it's the wrong thing. They gave me a generic brand that I can't take, even though my prescription says name brand only. Didn't even tell me they were giving me generic. So I can't take it. Rude employees, incompetent. I'll drive 1/2 an hour away to find a better pharmacy. read more

10/16 There is a new woman pharmacist that has a real attitude problem. Plus 4x recently I have gone well beyond the day and hour to be ready with my called in refill, to find it is never ready. In the last few years I have watched the pharmacy service continue to deteriorate. Most of the old employees at the pharmacy have now left. They have to call in pharmacy clerks from other stores who to get help, sometimes one new girl gives a different scenario to get my prescription, on to the point of after getting my name and birthdate demanding my entire address. I tried to go elsewhere in the area, but CVS has a buy down of a reduced co-pay for Blue Shield prescription insurance to get you into the store and, they are the only pharmacy in western Nevada County that has it. That means I would need to drive to Auburn or Yuba City for the same reduced co-pay. I sure would like to go elsewhere if was practical. But I still vote with my wallet, and will not patronize this store for other items while I am there, no matter the convenience or sale price. I think it is management that lets the attitude run wild, as any employee help is hard to get. read more

I called ahead when I left my doctor's office and they had my prescription ready when I got there 10 minutes later. It seams like they are the only pharmacy in town that actually answers their phone. Sometimes I still have to wait, but they always seem to be working really hard to help everyone. read more

Do NOT go to this pharmacy. They act like serving their customers is a chore and three work shows it. When we picked up our new prescription, they didn't even offer a consultation. BEST PHARMACY! This pharmacy is understaffed! Customers understand "the bottom line ($$)" concept. However, CORPORATE CVS has chosen to IGNORE A VERY IMPORTANT "CUSTOMER SERVICE DEFICENCY", in other words THEY dropped the ball and now the pharmacists and their support are suffering for it. CORPORATE your online" service is wonderful. We can request our medicine online, by phone etc. HOWEVER, CORPORATE CVS has NOT provided the $$$$ to this Pharmacy to provide the staffing we, "The Customer" need !!. At store level! Fellow customers, don't take it out on the pharmacy staff. Direct your frustration to CORPORATE CVS PHARMACY. That's who can fix this problem.!! At store level they're providing us the BEST, ACCURATE, RXs that we are entitled to, and we thank you for that. SO, CORPORATE.. Here's a suggestion, use your very efficient technology (ALGORITHMS perhaps?) to better serve your loyal customers. Fellow Grass Valley CVS shoppers, LET CORPORATE KNOW !!! "They are the only one who can fix this!" Have compassion for pharmacy employees, they are doing the very best they can.
