Let me first say that I have never had a bad experience at this store with any member of staff. that being said, I attempted to Return an item I'd purchased just the day before. I didn't keep my receipt but figured they'd check my purchase using my debit card and refund the money to the card. I never used the item, still brand new in the package. I was told they could not refund my money without a receipt nor could they put it back on my card. That threw me off as it's pretty standard practice. They could; however, put the money to a gift card which I could use. No problem, I shop there very regularly. Then they said the card could only be used at that specific store. Ok, the refund practice is drawing further and further away from the norm but again, ok, I shop there all the time, in fact, I went in there with the intent of making some purchases. Then I see the money placed on the card. It was about half what I paid for the item. I was shocked and brought that to the clerk's attention. Only then was I told that I would be refunded at whatever lowest sale price that item had ever been. I told them I didn't pay a sale price and asked that he scan the item, he did and saw for himself that I paid twice what he meant to refund me. I told him I literally bought the item the day before and asked that he scan my debit card but he said "that's outlet policy". I talked with two additional people above the young man's head but neither was willing to check my debit card and refund me the correct amount. I was asked if I was. A preferred customer and I told them I was. I told to come back the next day and speak with the manager, Richard. I don't intend to drive another hour round trip to speak to a manager who will again repeat the same message. instead, I came online to leave a review and was shocked to see their average score is 1.5 stars! At first I thought it must be their lowest score. Nope! It's the AVERAGE Score! In my many years of working professionally with businesses and chambers of commerce I have NEVER seen such a slow score!! Richard, my friend, you are doing something wrong! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Based on your reviews, I'm quite certain I'm not the first customer that will never again shop at your store, nor at any other Rite Aid if it's company policy throughout. I feel for your employees. This store is absolutely trash when it comes to customer service. I can say there is only about 3-4 workers that will give you actual help . The pharmacist and techs are beyond rude when trying to explain a complication you are having with filling a prescription. I truly hope the company will look into the customer service side of the whole store . There has been several times I called in a prescription and they gave no follow up text that it was done , now during the covid pandemic they are short answered and tells you to follow the link in the text , when I mentioned there has not been any text I get attitude back and told follow the link in the text and then they hang up !! . A little explanation for a call waiting on hold for 45mins can change someone's perspective on the situation instead of being told "no we are not busy we just don't have enough workers " . Not enough workers is understandable but don't make it sound like it's the customers fault you are short handed. To wrap it up it would be nice if the people of Nevada county could get their prescription with out feeling like it's our fault you are in a bad mood . read more

the rudest experience in my 32 years in california. i was there for 5 minutes and saw the lady at the pharmacy act very rude to 3 people including myself. first, she was just very loud and condescending to some poor old lady. you're not supposed to yell out a patients medication in front of everyone. that's when i realized i had entered a business that has extremely poor values and employs very bad people and just started staring at the floor. then she was very rude to the man in front of me in line and he just turned around and left. smart man. then it was my turn and of course she starts talking down to me in this smug condescending tone so i mocked her and talked down to her back. i told her my birthday and asked her if i could refill a prescription and she literally just sat there sitting at the screen for like a minute looking like she was going to cry. so pathetic. i just turned around and left without getting a refill or anything. i would rather not take my medication and physically die than have to deal with a person like this. the only way the management can save their souls is to fire this woman asap. she was the only one at the counter at Saturday September 19, 2020 at around 3:00pm. some idiot who works at rite aid is going to reply to this and say, "oh we're so sorry. we care about you!" they don't. there isn't a world that exists where this woman interacts with the public and her manager cares about the public. at some point there is no practical difference between incompetence and malevolence. is this business stupid, evil, or both? it's impossible to know for sure. read more

I'm very disappointed with how this pharmacy handles prescriptions and phone calls .My wife and I have been to the store numerous times and have called ahead several times .We have signed up for txt but not been advised of the delays. My wife has suffered for several days from side effects and pain from her chemo and radiation treatments waiting for her prescriptions to be filled. I feel bad for all the people I see waiting there every time I go . I will be avoiding your store like the plague in the future . You deserve the single star rating , but only because the bathroom works! read more

Nice place, great built in discounts through Rite Aid at the pharmacy. But god are they slow, and not that pleasant. No one seems to like their job nor do they seem to enjoy helping others, which I think would be part of the job criteria. I have to agree with a lot of the negative reviews for this pharmacy. I have used this pharmacy for years, but lately it has really gone downhill. My last couple of experiences have been unbelievable. The most recent was some pain medicine for a cancer patient. The hospital emailed the prescription on a Friday. I checked each day, but was told they were swapped, and come back tomorrow. Finally, on Wednesday, after 4 days, it was ready! Their only excuse was they were very busy. A month before that, the ER department sent a prescription for a cardiac medicine for my wife. That also took 4 days to fill. Really lousy customer service! The only excuse I got each time was they were understaffed and extremely busy. Not what someone in pain wants to hear. Hire more people if you need staff!!!!! read more

If I could do 0 Star I would. Called ahead of time to make sure prescription was ready. Was told yes it is. Waited in line for 20 min to get a "it's not ready yet". I don't mind waiting, just be honest so I don't waste my time. Especially while being pain all day just needing the thing that could make it better. read more

I just had a weird frustrating experience at this store. It made no sense to me. I use GoodRX coupons and look for the lowest cost. I had never used one at RiteAide but had no issue with them at any other pharmacy. I went to get my prescription at RiteAide. It was ready and when I went to pay, I showed them my coupon. They got all huffy and said that they would have to completely refill the prescription because of the coupon. Why???? No other pharmacy has had to do that. I then had to wait over 45 minutes while they completely refilled it! I found the staff very curt and unfriendly. I'm not going back. read more

This review is for the pharmacy side: The only good thing about this place is the people are nice. Otherwise, stay away. Far away. If you find your time at all valuable, do not go here. After calling to have a prescription refilled, they said it would be available for pickup. After waiting in line 30 minutes (this is normal here, they hardly staff the registers), and getting home, they didn't even include the prescription that was called about or mention not putting it in there. So, back we go a few days later. Surely it should be ready. Get there at 9am as they open, someone already there waiting as well. They spend over 10 minutes just getting the registers ready. The lines building up. 15 minutes go by, they choose to help someone who just shows up in their car instead of everyone waiting in person. Still waiting. People in line grumbling. Finally after 20 minutes, they help the first customer. It's my turn, they say its not filled. Ok fine, I'll wait. Then another 5 mins and they say oh we're out of stock on this and can't fill it, that's why it was never given to you. Great. So it took all this to find out why an important med wasn't given to us and we were in no way communicated to, and put into a dangerous situation. Never going back here again unless things somehow improve. They waste everyone's time with long lines and 1 person at the cashier. Why bother calling in a refill when it's never ready when I pick it up? I have even waited a day or more after I requested it just to avoid waiting. Each time I request a refill by calling it in, IT'S NEVER READY!! I have to wait sometimes up to 40 minutes each time!! read more

Seems my last interview prompted Rite-Aid asking I call them -or chat-live, to hopefully resolve problems. If you ave high blood pressure, you're short on time, or have a hole in the roof that needs fixing right away, I suggest do not go this route. It was frustrating enough to make a Buddhist slap his teacher. Just get a hold of the Board of Directors contact, save your sanity. Now, I went back in to get my last meds, drank Comfrey tea & listened to George Harrison in preparation. I had called to see if they were ready, woman answered & said needed prior authorizations again. I called my Doc, later I get an automated RA call that prescriptions ready. So I drive in, full of renewed hope, wrapped in saffron robe. They find one med, charging full-price -again have to remind them of my insurance (even though previous charges for same med & insurance info is right on their screen!!!) So I am asked to wait while it is relabled/priced. The tea is wearing off, but I feel for the cashier who has to bear the customers re the maelstrom behind her - I share more love & peace, and thank her for doing a near impossible job. I risk material life and ask about my other med -where is that? 20 more mins searching only to find they don't have it. But here is where this particular Rite-Aid falls down w utter consistency: I have to ask "well... going to order?" Sure, they say. "When?" Um, tomorrow. "Ready to pick-up tomorrow?" Um, oh sure, in the afternoon most likely. Why am I having to prompt every obvious question? Fast forward next day. I get a call from the (lead?) pharmacist, I guess from my oh-so successful pass-off from that Chat-line I foolishly participated in prior. Best I could understand him is his name is something' like Jay P -I have to ask who he is and concerning -he barely articulates, has me repeat my whole spiel from last nite, tho I asked the Chat-Lady to cc the exchange and points therein. Well fellow Doctor Jay pharmacist must do this lots, 'cuz all he seems he has to do is say "okay, okay, okay", in a 'dull uninterested auto-tone lack of interest manner' (to what are systemic breakdowns in the pharmacy!). Hey, to the level of recalcitrance he'd make doctor in that dept for sure. Anyway, he didn't even tell me whether the my other med was ordered, or had come in or possibly filled. I call back after a hot bath w soothing salts, ask another pharmacist to PLEASE call when it is filled; answer: "oh, this after noon sir'. Yea, they didn't call. 5 stars for consistency !!! Listen, I have used other Rite-Aids where they get to know you and do all and more, time and time again. Listen, we're asking for a plain decent level of- competency conscientiousness & consideration. Rite-Aid Grass Valley is fried & givin' up. This makes everybody else (valuable customers) have to put the fires out at the wrong end. Bless my incense-induced calm I use in preparation now. This Rite Aid is the worst pharmacy. They never have their stock supplied. They take over a week to transfer perscriptions for people who want to get the heck out of their business. I thought id try out Rite Aid since they were closer to my work but am regretting it now.I have never been to a pharmacy that takes sooooo long to re fill your medication.The first time I requested my medication I was told it would be ready the same day soo I waited til the next day to pick up on my way home,waited in a long line to be told they were still being worked on?ok,so I just thought mabey because it was new,No almost everytime I have picked up my prescription since I am told there working on it and will be an hour and I request it 1-2 days in advance??dont understand why other pharmacy will have it ready in 15min to 30 min max??.my Dr office just opened a pharmacy and I am gonna transfer because this place is terrible. read more

Rarely answer the phone. Lines are long with long wait and often the prescription is not ready. Better to get connected via email and they are better about letting you know when the prescription is ready. read more

That's it, I'm done with Rite-Aid. First of all, I always have to fight them off when they insist that I need five plastic bags for three things and they get super attitudey when I say I'll be fine without a bag. I got home after getting a few things and realized that I must have left one of my bags at the register. I got them to agree to only two bags but this is why I don't want so many bags (plus, the environment and all)!! I called and asked if my bag was still there so I could pick it up. She said, and I quote, "Well, I don't SEE it here" Uh...okay soooo...can you look? Or can I give you my contact info in case it turns up? "I have a line out the door, I need to put you on hold" and then she hung up. I called back and explained to a different woman who did actually look for it but wouldn't take my contact info because she said it wouldn't matter. I know that that bag has to be there because it's not in my car but I could get over it if there was even a shred of customer service from anyone who worked there. I chose this pharmacy just because it's right next to a Grocery Outlet. Big mistake. I've been 3 times now trying to fill the same prescription, each time there was a line of 4+ people ahead of me, each of them having their own issues getting their prescriptions filled. Today I should finally be able to get my prescription, but the pharmacist is on a 2 hour lunch break and has to approve it first. Waiting in my car now, writing this. Went to Rite Aid at about 8 PM with my two daughters to go pick up prescriptions me and my daughters were playing around having fun and having a good time and then a woman out of nowhere started yelling at my daughters the woman was a stocker she had glasses on kind of overweight and she yelled at my daughters for laughing and play around while we wait for our prescriptions granite we did run around a little bit but she yelled enough at my daughter to get her to cry so I had to leave without my prescriptions... Not a family from the store the woman was obviously in a bad mood and should not take it out on a child so I left without my prescriptions and I would go another place they are not child friendly very very bad...... read more

If I could rate a 0 i would. Constantly not receiving or losing my prescriptions. I have had my dr. call in a new prescription for me and they still haven't got it. Called them to ask them to call my dr's. Said they would and it would be ready yesterday. They still don't have a record of the prescription being called in. I've been going to this Rite Aid for more than ten years for prescriptions and to shop for other products. I am very happy with the service I've received, especially from the pharmacists who've taken the time to explain my meds. a couple of times when I've run out and couldn't reach my doctor's office for a refill prescription, the pharmacy gave me a couple of pills to tide me over. The store has recently been remodeled and is very user friendly now with good signage and organization of displays. I will continue to be a Rite Aid customer and am completely satisfied with their staff and service. read more

I had a prescription filled at Rite-Aid in Grass Valley. Two of the associates were really helpful, but when a 3rd associate heard the last name of the prescription I was picking up, and that she was on Medi-Cal, all of a sudden her demeanor changed. Wouldn't make eye contact, rolled her eyes when I asked a question. Bad enough she was fat with a mustache, then to top it off, she was rude and racist. When I asked if they had a bottle smaller than the $36 bottle they had. She again rolled her eyes like "What the hell is doin' here if he can't afford it?" I've experienced a significant amount of racism ever since I moved my family to Grass Valley. People act like our skin color is contagious. I was surprised by the amount of racism being practiced in Grass Valley. Or IGNORANCE is what I like to call it. So much hate towards another race when they've actually never even took the time to get to know someone of a different cultural background. IGNORANCE. I will NEVER recommend this place, unless you're white, then you'll probably be treated like royalty. It's so sickening to know how strong the racism is here. And this is supposed to be a Christian community??!! Ridiculous. All I wanted was a better life for my family, and this is what I get? I think all these ignorant people need to grow the F%$# up.
