    The delicious gingerbread cookies.
    Joy B.

Finding delicious gluten free bakery items is like finding buried treasure, under the sea. They are rare gems and I am glad to help spread the word, when you strike treasure. Last night, I tasted the gingerbread cookies and Yule log from Rise Bakery. I would have never known they were gluten free. The gingerbread cookies were adorable and tasted great. The Yule log was beautifully crafted and a show piece. It tasted just as delicious, as it looked. Service was great. We ordered ahead and it was ready and waiting for us. The place is cute and clean. I would highly recommend this bakery if you want gluten free items, that are tempting and tasted great.

Oh Rise. How I love you so. The absolute freeing feeling being able to grab a quick lunch with my kid (her and I both have allergies) there's just no words. Easily can order online, and be on our way. My kid isn't a big sandwich fan but does enjoy them from here! Don't forget a vanilla donut.

With tons of gluten free pastries and sandwiches, what's not to love? The place is on a gorgeous street in DC with a beautiful ambiance. The bakery is on the second floor, up some stairs, where you will be met with a quaint seating area. The wait can be long at times because of how popular it is, but it's worth it. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about allergies. The menu is thorough on its ingredients. Definitely my go to spot for gluten free foods!

gluten free bakery of my dreams! i'm a sucker for a gf treat & bagel sandwich! staff was so pleasant & absolutely booked with to-go orders. no espresso so that was a bummer but i haven't had an eclair in YEARS!

    Smoked ham and Gruyére Panini

Totally amazing gluten-free! This is my first time visiting, and I am blown away by how delicious everything is. My husband and I split a smoked ham and Gruyère panini, and a ham and cheese croissant. Both were equally delicious. We couldn't choose a favorite. We got the oatmeal cherry cookie, the eclair, almond croissants and a chocolate croissant. The croissants are among their most popular items, and we can see why. We also got bagels, brioche buns, and rye bread to go. We are making corned beef Rachel's for St. Patrick's Day, and I'm so pleased to find gf rye bread. We will definitely be coming back!

    Mango Lush Bar (Gluten Free)

I've gone here quite a few times to experience the joy of a FULL GLUTEN FREE MENU! Pictured is the mango lush bar (a little small but SO GOOD!!!!!) but I've also tried a cannoli, a carrot cake cupcake, a ginger molasses cookie...I think that's it? I will definitely come back. The storefront itself has two two-person tables so it's pretty small, but takeout is always an option.

I'm a symptomatic Celiac and Rise Bakery is my ultimate dream! Seriously, I've been gluten free for 13 years, and it's such a joyous relief to go somewhere where you don't have to ask questions or worry about cross contamination. Everyone who works here is kind and welcoming. I giggled over some celiac books (pictured--wish I bought them!). I ordered a chocolate croissant, a cannoli, and a pack of jalapeño cheddar buns. The former two were delicious, as expected, the dough on the croissant in particular being flakery and buttery. I have yet to try the buns, but they look divine, and I'm excited to toast them and use them for burgers! Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. Wish I lived closer!

Amazing!!! I had a day off during a work trip and spent the entire day going back and forth between Rise & a nearby coffee shop to work. My only wish is that they had wifi or a larger seating area to be able to hang out there! I had a bagel sandwich for breakfast which was amazing - fresh, a bit crunchy, and flavorful - I didn't love the square eggs, but I know many places mass prepare eggs in that way for sandwiches. I came back for lunch and got an amazing sandwich, plus some sweets to go. The donut, croissant, and cupcake were all delicious! An amazing gluten free find in DC.

Stumble upon this gluten free small bakery while walking around Adam's Morgan. I ordered the cheesecake brownie. It was delicious! The staff was friendly and very fast which was great because it was busy when I was there. The inside is pretty small so there is not enough seating, which it is okay because there are a couple of benches outside. I do wish the brownie was a bit bigger is size but other than that, I recommend this place

Vegan avocado toast with bacon on biscuit
    Yvette 'Divie' E.

A gluten free bakery with goods that don't taste gluten free?! Oh yes! Food: For breakfast, I devoured the vegan avocado toast - with bacon added - on a biscuit. It was delicious! I also took a chocolate croissant for later, which I've never seen gluten free; it was heavy and had a baking powder-like taste every few bites (maybe it's taste better warmed?). I did take a few bites of the cinnamon roll, which was much better. Service: Friendly, patient, and non judgmental as I oo'ed and aah'ed over too many choices! I took off a star because we didn't know there's no seating (which is tough for a tourist in the rain!), the chocolate croissant wasn't my favorite, and the dairy free options were very limited. On the last point, it's probably a blessing because I'd have come more often if that was the case! A wonderful find during this visit!

I have always ordered here from doordash but never actually went. It's cute inside but not a lot of seating only about 4 chairs. The employees were nice and fast. I got the cheesecake and lemon bar but I have had the sandwiches, cupcakes, apple turnover, Yule log, tiramisu, vanilla donuts and probably some other things. I thought everything was good especially since I don't have a lot of options for gluten free baked goods. I have had hit or misses but overall I have loved every baked good. Only reason it's 4 stars is because I have had things I don't like but that could be my palette.

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! It must be said that I received the items cold and tasted them cold and reheated. Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked croissant - 6/10 - this rating is about my personal taste, not the quality of the croissant. I'm sure this is a matcha lovers dream and I was impressed by how much filling was in the croissant, especially considering the filling didn't affect the texture of the bread. This was good cold but even better reheated. Bread still had a crunch and the filling consistency was great, but again just not my thing. Strawberry milk - 10/10 - can I curse real quick ? £#%K this was delicious. I could put this filling on just about anything and be satisfied. It was rich but not overly sweet and paired really well with the pastry. I do not know how they manage to have the pastry keep its shape with the amount of filling they're putting inside but I appreciate it. The pastry has a great bite to it and the pearls and frosting adding a slight contrast to the texture was needed because too much of one texture creeps me out. I took a look at their menu and absolutely want to try their cookies the mango sweet tart, and the Ube Cheese Kouign Amann so I will be back !

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! Tell them Anisha from Milwaukee sent you! (Not that they'd remember it just sounds cute!)

I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
