We decided to try something different for breakfast, before going on the Hop On, Hop Off bus tour. We were at Union Station and went downstairs to the food court. It was fairly early morning. We looked around at all of our options, and decided on Crepe Lena, where the guy working there was making fresh crepes to order on the grill. This really looked like the best choice. I saw him making a crepe with a lot of ingredients, and it looked really good. I asked what it was, and he said "House Special breakfast crepe". So this is what I ordered. It had turkey, egg, cheese, mushroom, avocado, tomato and spinach. Made to order. It was good! Service was friendly and efficient, although there was only one person working there. He was very busy, but the wait wasn't too long. There was plenty of seating right in front of Crepe Lena. We enjoyed a relaxing breakfast, and the ambience was nice and relaxing. Our group sat in two tables that we pushed together. Also, there is a Blue Bottle Coffee shop upstairs, so my sister ran up there to get a coffee to accompany her crepe. Recommended! read more

I needed a quick bite before Ubering to an event in DC from Union Station. Crepe Lena didn't have much of a line and a crepe sounded like the perfect portion size to not overfill. I ordered the turkey and cheddar crepe with honey mustard and watched it cook in front of me. The guy running the booth did a great job with it, and the price point was super reasonable at less than $10. Weekend in DC post pandemic: hardly anything is open at all, only half of the pre-exisiting options, the few that are open are swamped. I came to Union station and this was the most breakfasty place: I got a waffle and a basic cinnamon butter crepe. They prepared it on the spot and it was a huge sugar dose for my morning, basic comfort food. They are not fast but they are worth waiting for if there's not more than 1-2 people ahead of you. The staffer behind the counter was so friendly and accommodating. We ordered a strawberry- lemon crepe and a waffle with strawberries. Both were delicious! The only option in the Union Station food court that isn't a national chain's prepackaged food! Not the best crepes I've had, but when they put the batter on a griddle and make it for you on the spot, it's guaranteed to be pretty good. Cinnamon powder was a bit chunky, though, which is my only real complaint. Otherwise, it's a great snack option. read more

This spot definitely has sweet AND savory options. Everything from banana and Nutella to chicken and pesto. They also serve Belgium waffles for those that aren't into crepes. I settled on the crepe w/ ground beef, cheese, tomatoes, a little spinach, chopped onions, mayo, and hot sauce. They folded it so that it was almost like a pita pocket. Which I didn't mind at all. The taste was pretty good. The fluffy crepes with the savory beef went well together. Next time I think I'll try the chicken pesto (I'm a huge fan of pesto) to see how that is. Figuring a sandwich on an egg wrap was a healthier option than anything else around me, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a turkey and chedder crepe with honey mustard. It was made to order, right in front of me. The women making it was pleasant and knew what she was doing. Someone else rang me up and thankes me. She told me to have a nice day as I was handed my food. Then I noticed the container also said have a nice day! The crepe was very thin, like a large, thin quesadilla. It was super hot! You could feel the heat through the container. I had to let it cool a bit before I could eat it. It was very tasty! A perfect light lunch. I ate it all! I was tempted to got back for a nutella one! We got there 20 minutes before close (it's in a mall so just grabbing and going). We watched a guy in the back on his phone for 10 minutes, finally we said excuse me. He said what or closed. I'm sure he just wanted to get out of work and we can all understand that after a long day. But instead of letting us stand there for 10 minutes waiting for him he could've simply said I have closed. I just tried to get some Crepes, very excited that they have GF option. Arrived at 8:45 and the guy says they don't open for 45 minutes and that they adjusted the hours at the beginning of the pandemic. Website says they are open at 8. Found this gem in the lower level of Union Station, DC. I got the Apple Cinnamon Crepe. Flavor was on point, though I do wish the apples had been poached in a sauce. It's been months since I visited this place but their kindness stuck with me enough that I write this review at least 3 months later. This place definitely seems like the owner's dream set-up. They've put effort in the small details, from the carrying box with imprinted letters to their logo and peppy service. I stopped by closer to their closing time and felt at home in the basement of Union Station as they cooked up a crepe. I really enjoyed this spot! I didn't know that there were vegan crepes in Union Station until I walked by this sign. The vegan crepe came at a hefty premium--$3 for vegan batter. When I lamented that to the owner, he waived the "vegan tax"! I chatted more with the owner and we was really nice. I had a savory crepe with veggies--they even had vegan cheese and mayo! Conveniently located in Union Station, they have many toppings available and friendly staff. If you are indecisive like me, there are combo options for sweet and savory crepes with a drink. There were so many options to choose from, but the guy behind the counter was extremely patient and offered a few suggestions to help me to decide. I went with one of their specials: one savory and one sweet crepe for $12. I ordered one with chicken, spinach, tomatoes and cheese, and another with Nutella, bananas, and blueberries. I'll save you the suspense and tell you that they were both amazing. The crepe added just the right amount of sweet to my savory one, but not enough to make the sweet one too sweet. The sweet one was VERY messy too (all I needed was a bib and a high chair!) but it was the tastiest mess I made in a long time. A savory crepe seemed like such a good idea, but the result disappointed. Crepe Lena basically is making wraps with a fresh soft tortilla. My #2 mushroom, spinach and cheese crepe had a sprinkle of grated cheddar, a random few bits of mushroom and fresh baby spinach leaves. Optionally hot sauce, mayo etc. Far too little cheese and the leaves were just raw. Stick with the banana Nutella crepe and you'll prolly be fine. I can't recommend the savory versions. read more

We just stopped here before catching the train out for our day of fun. I love crepes, especially savory ones. I opted for an egg, spinach and cheddar cheese one and was not disappointed. The consistency was perfect. Crispy and perfectly cooked. The stuffing was delicious and I found there to be just the right amount of spinach and cheese to go along with the fried egg that was inside. The gluten free crepes were so good and the food could be chosen gluten free and there were really good sweet ones and really good savory ones. 3.5 stars - for being in the middle of the downstairs food court at Union Station, they offer something much different than the usual options there. Ingredient quality isn't super high, but for seven bucks, you still get a pretty nice crepe. They've got all the usual savory and sweet options, and we each got a savory one and then shared a dessert one. Crepes are actually pretty filling, so you don't need to go nuts to get full, and these are no exception. This is a way better choice than fried chicken or bad "ethnic" food places when you're looking for a quick meal. read more
