Brisket sandwich

This place is located in Stockyard, a very cool western area. 10/10 for location and atmosphere. The inside is western themed and very cozy. I ordered a Patron Margarita, corn nugget appetizer and a brisket sandwich. My partner got a grilled cheese. The patron marg was very large and good! The brisket was fantastic!!! I also had the pleasure of trying my friends rib and if I came back I would 100% get ribs. The corn nuggets were also perfect. My partner also said the grilled cheese was great. Our server was very nice and struck up a conversation and joked with us. Very hospitable and good service. Overall an awesome spot and I would come back.

We were in the Stockyards and decided to go to a staple- Riscky's BBQ. We went after the cattle drive for lunch. There were a bunch of people going in at the same time but we were able to get a table right away. We started with the fried pickles which were incredible. Then we split a 3 meat smoker combo. With the combo we got brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño sausage. I loved the brisket and sausage, the pulled pork was missing some flavor. The red beans and potato salad on the side were both delicious, the coleslaw was just okay. We also got a flat iron steak, which was my favorite part, it was delicious. The sides of mac and cheese and fries were again just okay. The service was fast and the place fits in aesthetically with the stockyards.

Must try brisket. Quick fast service. Flavorful food. We came in after a long hot walk on the Ave. Hungry for some Texas favorites this place is definitely worth the visit. Full bar with a bunch of must have appetizers and entrees. Sliced brisket & baked potato was a good combination cooked perfectly paired with house bbq sauce Hot / ReG. Food and drinks prices were moderate priced and don't hurt the wallet. We were a group of 8. 4 adults 4 kids and the bill was under $150.00

The food is always delicious. The all-you-can-eat beef ribs is my fav and always the item to brag about whenever I bring in out-of-town friends and family. On the weekend, this place is packed. Be ready to wait. But it is WORTH it! You can put your name down and they will text you when your table is ready and so many shops around to kill time while waiting. And the ambiance is so electric. So much western vibes and you can watch the Longhorn cows drive while eating in their outdoor seatings. Great place to eat and chill!

Wow! Couldn't be more disappointed. In the stockyards? Prime location next to the train...worst BBQ Texas has to offer. Hubs said 'Never been so disappointed.' Waiter Jair was polite. We tried the appetizer sampler. Have you ever had the corn nuggets and fried pickles from chicken express? These tasted exactly like that. :( I did like the jalapeño cheese curds. We tried the three meat combo with ribs, brisket, and sausage. The meat was well cooked, but tasteless. The barbecue sauce on the table has too much apple cider vinegar. Weird. Beans and slaw okay. Restaurant is busy and restrooms pretty clean.

Great bbq food after a long travel day to get to the Stockyards. Seated promptly with no reservation. Server was great, attentive & friendly. As they say, everything is big in Texas! And that includes the portion sizes. The beef ribs & Texas fries, delish. The catfish prepared excellent but my first try of catfish was a no. Country music piped in added to the ambiance. Enjoy!

Try the Brisket Bites!! Only regret was not getting the full order! Love this place! Love the decor! And the service was fantastic!

The smoked ribs were amazing, and the vibe inside was awesome too. The only thing was that the tablecloth was a bit greasy.

Stockyard, near the petting zoo. Indoors is best but is busy and noisy as expected. The food was delicious the service was great.

Front outside entrance.

Awesome lunch spot in the Stockyards. They get crowded, so I suggest getting there before 1pm. Prices are reasonable (ended up being $50 for 2 people) and the pork ribs are the best! The meat was tender and fell off the bone. The brisket was a bit fatty, but could of just been the cut we got. Highly recommend!

Hate to say it but this place sucks. You're just a number here. Everything about this place is overrated. Don't waste your time. Barbeque is meh. Prices and daily specials are good but they will nickel and dime you in anything you need. Pickles, onions, etc. I'm surprised that don't charge for plastic ware and the biggest issue is the side of small fries is 3.99 plus tax. And the bag is very small and I had 24 cold opened fries in my to go bag. Do the math. Again overrated and overpriced. Hundreds of better real family owned bbq in the city.

Smoked Turkey

Great ambiance in the heart of the stockyards but terrible food. Ordered the smoked turkey and I don't think anything about this turkey was smoked. Tasted like plain, dry, cheap turkey. Even the bbq sauce did not make it good. The beans were flavorless. One of the worst Texas bbq places I've had.

This is a nice barbecue spot with a good variety of meat choices. I tried the pulled pork, which was not labeled as spicy -- and it definitely was spicier than I expected. I also ordered a potato salad on the side, but it was way too sour for my taste, likely because of too much vinegar. Overall, the basket (without bread) felt a little small, and I was still hungry after finishing. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's a pedestrian area. There's a large lot close by, but it's expensive (around $15 for a few hours). If you're willing to walk about 10/15 minutes, you can find free parking further out. The area is quite touristy but rather enjoyable for locals as well.

Beef ribs, pork ribs, smoked catfish, Cole slaw, tater salad and beans.

First, major credit to Avery and Nancy, who were incredibly kind and patient considering we arrived fairly close to the end of lunch service before the restaurant closed for its afternoon break. We never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I started lunch by ordering another cocktail (which may or may not have had me buzzing a little by this point) along with the 12 oz. prime rib steak served with buttery herb mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri sauce. I'll admit, the steak was thinner than I expected for Texas (I sort of anticipated a Flintstones-sized slab of beef) but honestly? It was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were rich and even the vegetables were great! My dining companions ordered a bit lighter fare, I believe a salad and grilled cheese, but I was far too focused on my steak situation to pay close attention. I left absolutely stuffed and very, very, very happy about it. The atmosphere here is upscale without feeling pretentious. Between the Western inspired decor and the relaxed energy of the Stockyards area, it feels welcoming. Also worth noting: apparently bachelorette parties featuring men in cow-print overalls are welcome here too, so truly something for everyone. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. I'd happily come back the next time I find myself in Fort Worth!

Perfect place to bring out of town guests. For brunch, we got the Tostadas and the French Toast. The Tostadas were just ok -- I felt they were lacking in flavor. The French Toast was delicious! I'd be willing to come back and try some other menu options!

The operational execution is tight, and the staff is fantastic, but the real draw is the menu--simply a carnivorous delight of high-quality steaks and wild game specialties. We kicked off the night with a trio of phenomenal starters: the wild boar ribs tossed in their signature BBQ sauce, the elk sliders layered with sweet blueberry jam, and the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage served over a crispy manchego rosti with crème fraîche. While every bite was great, that sausage was an absolute standout flavor combination. Next up was a bowl of traditional Texas Red. As a major bean lover, I know a purist chili can be a gamble, but I had zero complaints here. The delivery was excellent, deeply flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. For the main event, the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin was executed flawlessly, accompanied by a heavy-hitting lineup of sides: rich truffle-infused mac & cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts tossed in a savory bacon vinaigrette with black garlic, and perfectly sautéed Texas wild mushrooms. We tied the entire evening together with several LALO Ranch Waters, kicked up with a sharp, salted Tajín rim. It was a spectacular meal from start to finish. If you want a genuine Texas dining experience that delivers on its promises, this is the spot.

I would never have expected to try kangaroo, elk, rabbit, rattlesnake, and boar all in one night, but if that's your goal, this would be the perfect place to go. Our waiter did a perfect job of introducing his favorite items in the menu and allowing for each one of us in my group to get a piece of that appetizer on their own plate, which is which shown in the second picture. Instead of the appetizers served on its own plate. Every person in my group of eight got their own plate of individual appetizers so that we all got to try our own piece. I personally have never seen that before in other restaurants, but we were delightfully impressed with how accommodating this restaurant was of such a big group. This way, we didn't have to order multiple orders of the same appetizer and just got to eat off our own plate. My group also didn't opt for individual main courses instead shared every entrée we ordered which I thought was an amazing idea. I typically love family style when eating Asian cuisine so this was my first time eating family style in an American restaurant and I would highly recommend going this route at this restaurant to ensure that you try every unique dish they have.
