Riptide is a solid casual option for seafood with boiled crabs, crab cakes, shrimp and the like that won't break the bank. There's 4 tables on the front sidewalk which can be good for getting some sun and people watching. On the downside it's tougher to get staffs attention when you need a fork. Crab cake sandwich was solid. Mostly picked crab meat, as it should be, with a something akin to a spicy mayo in the binder. Fierce competition in Baltimore for crab cakes means means there's better specimens elsewhere in town, but it's probably better than you can get out of town. Ultimately to tide is a decent spot for a casual lunch.

We traveled down for a family event and then decided to visit the area to explore and grab bite. We ended up at this place and was a great choice. Service was good and so was the food ND drinks. I'm not a big blue crab person as it's so much work for little meat but this place was cool.

Location really outweighs the quality of the food when it comes to Riptide. As the name suggests, it's by the water and that's a HUGE draw in fells. If you snag a table during a cool, sunny day, then you're in for a treat! Especially on a hot day (or really any day), you have to order one of the crushes (alcoholic slushy goodness). We didn't go at a busy time so service was probably at its best and I'm very grateful for that but I could see this restaurant quickly becoming overwhelmed. When it comes to the food, the most consistent quality here is salt! Both the crab pretzel and the wings were really delicious but also fell on the salty side, almost to the point that they became difficult to eat. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here but with some great restaurants around the Fells area, Riptide needs to boost their food to compete!

Beach themed college dive bar. I had to double check when I was writing my review due to the bar looking so different at night. This spot had cool neon and fluorescent lighting. I went on a Sunday night and was surprised there was a DJ until close, but the music was great. Drinks were very watered down , so I would suggest ordering beer or a canned beverage. If you're looking for a sophisticated bar this is not it. I would probably recommend this for 21-26 year olds or anyone young at heart lol My tab had an extra shot I did not order, but I was too tired to complain. Last thing to note is that there was an automatic gratuity of 20% even though I was only 1 person.

Get the crab pretzel!! It was good good mhmm ... The cocktails were pretty good.

Get the crab pretzel!! It was good good mhmm ... We also had the Housemade Linguini Pasta and honestly it was nothing worth writing home to. The cocktails were pretty good tho and they had some live music playing too, music wasn't my type but the music bought a good vibe. It was a nice Sunday so we sat outside, not bad for an early Sunday chill & relaxing evening.

Walked right into the bar then made our way to the behind the bar room. Not many people, which was nice. Husband ordered Cream of Crab soup and a Caesar Salad. He said they were both above standard bar food. Cream of Crab could have been a little thicker but good! I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with the fixin's on top. Delicious but if I'm being picky... more cheese! Food was delicious. Bartender was very kind for having to work lunch/brunch on a rainy Sunday. Thank you for a positive first experience. The man who waited on me was super friendly and checked in often to see how I was doing. Based on his recommendation, I decided to try one of their cheesesteaks, with sautéed mushrooms and onions, accompanied by sweet potato fries. The sandwich was piping hot when it was served. I'm not sure if I burned my tastebuds on the first few bites, but I found the sandwich to have very little taste. The nice man came back and pointed out the all of hot sauces, so I opted for a chipotle flavored one, which helped boost the flavor of the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were really tasty, but some were a little soggy. This place is definitely a local favorite in the Canton area and I can see why, with such friendly and attentive service.

The drink menu did not tickle my fancy so I ended up just having water. The restaurant week menu was a good selection of their regular menu items so it was an opportunity to try something that I could get again. I opted for the tuna as an appetizer, the whole branzino as my entree, and the zalabia for dessert. Everything was delicious! I would have liked the tuna to be more chilled; it came out closer to room temp. I have no notes for the bronzino. It was perfectly cooked, I really love the time and orange, the olive tapenade was the right amount of salty and briny, and the accompanying roasted harissa potatoes were fantastic. I guess if I had any critique it would be of the too skinny and woody asparagus. The dessert was something I'd never heard of, something like Mediterranean donuts. I really love the pistachios and the I think pomegranate sauce (it wasn't described on the menu so Im guessing), but the addition of chocolate was completely unnecessary and I'm not just saying that because I don't like chocolate lol. After dinner me and my dining companion went upstairs to the speakeasy for a cocktail. I was hoping they had a different drink menu and they did! This menu was much more interesting to me and I ended up getting a a well-balanced gin cocktail. I just read that they are closing to relocate so I'm hoping that I'll be able to go again soon.

The venue is dimly lit with the bar side giving glam dive vibes and the table side just giving glam. I wasn't able to see the speakeasy part due to some Harry Potter event. My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. And this led to me discovering just how much of a certifiable beer haven Max's is! For a Philly comparison I'd put Max's on the same caliber as Glory Beer Bar and Kitchen but with a beer bible on the same scale as Monk's. It's been a beer haven for going on four decades and it shows with their 100+ rotating taps, 1000+ bottles & cans, a 4 casks that feature plenty of local Baltimore brews alongside the finest from Belgium, Germany, and then some! They even have seasonal special events like a Sour Beer Fest in June, and a Rare & Obscure Beer Weekend in October. The bar interior was classic wood, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. And numerous other people were doing the same thing. How hard is it to make a sign and/or update your website/menu? On top of that, even if you have a table, you still have to go up to the bar to order. When the place is busy, it's a complete shitshow. You're fighting through a crowd just to get a drink while your table sits empty. Whoever came up with this ordering system clearly doesn't care about being easy to do business with.
