I stumbled upon Rione XIII after striking out on Italian restaurants that were open late (8pm) on a Friday and I was presently surprised. The authenticity of flavor in their dishes, to the staff being very open to educate on both the food and drink menus. A great experience and the low lit look and feel was the icing on the cake to close the evening.

Nut allergy friendly: No issues with the pizza here and I don't think they have many nuts overall on the menu. Time-to-Food; 16 Minutes We got here around 4:30PM on a Saturday afternoon for their 4-6PM daily happy hour and were seated outside with no issues. For two people, we shared the Funghi pizza (8/10) and a beer and an Old Fashioned each. The Funghi pizza was very sharable, had a good balance of truffle oil and cheese and mushroom, and a nice crispy and not too thick crust. Would definitely come back for the happy hour pizza. I wouldn't get a cocktail again - it was pretty watered down and had too much ice. The beer was just poured out of a can and so $8 for an IPA is quite expensive. I'd definitely come back and order some other things from the happy hour menu aside from beverages. No issues paying via inKind and applying a referral discount.

One of my favorite Italian places to go to. We had the burrata, spaghetti And the fungi pizza. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was delicious. The service is really great and attentive. The ambience is quiet and cozy, great for date nights

We went on a Tuesday night since I knew happy hour was till close on Monday and Tuesdays! You just have to sit at the patio or bar. For happy hour you get full sized items for much cheaper (I think pasta was essentially $10 off)! Everything was so tasty but I don't know if I would pay full price for it, I would definitely come back for happy hour though! The pasta was especially delicious, the noodles were cooked perfectly! The servers were also very attentive and helpful as well giving us their recommendations. Also, just of note, there is an automatic 20% service fee included.

I came here for a phenomenal cacio e pepe recommendation, ordered the wrong C pasta (ordered a Carbonara) and the Funghi pizza-- and my god!! It was THe best pizza I've ever tasted!! The ratio of crust to topping was perfect and the texture of the crust was so perfect too!! The service was awesome and we could see everyone that worked there liked their job! The ambiance was great for a date night or a nice dinner with friends! Love it and will return!!

This is an Ethan Stowell Restaurant located in Capitol Hill. The service was amazing when we went to this restaurant and probably what we paid for. As for the food, it was barely mid. My friend and I ordered the Bruschetta & Burrata as appetizers, which were probably the best dishes of the night. The Tonnarelli was very salty and the noodles were too al dente - there were crunchy parts that were definitely uncooked. My friend ordered the Potato Gnocchi, which he wasn't too fond of and was surprised about. He though the gnocchi would actually be potatoes in small gnocchi shaped sizes. It was disappointing to say the least. For the price, the food wasn't worth it. However, we extremely enjoyed the service we had from our server and hostess. They were super friendly and funny. Though the food wasn't great, we enjoyed our time eating.

I am shocked that this restaurant only has 3.8 stars! Thursday nights they have BOGO pasta off the main menu, and we went during happy hour (4 - 6 PM). I was so impressed with their summer sausage/green squash pasta dish (5/5 stars blow your mind amazing), under carbonara (4.5/5 stars) was good as well. Unfortunately, the seasonal shrub (2/5 stars) had such a strong vinegar taste that I sent it back, but I did not really enjoy the rosemary lemonade (2/5 stars, tasted too similar to Minute Made lemonade) I got, either. Overall, we are thrilled, and plan on going back some Thursday - or maybe during another happy hour to try some of the pizzas!

Beautiful spot, lovely atmosphere, especially for the summer when they have the windows open. One of the few places in that area that takes reservations way in advance for groups of four and isn't stupid expensive. Kind staff. Great menu options, delicious food and drinks. Many other fun bars and shops nearby if you want to hop around. We found FREE parking near here pretty easily and did a short Lyft drive over to Paramount.

Tl;dr this place hits. Rione is in a quieter part of cap hill with a cozy, intimate ambiance. There's some street parking, but can be a little difficult. I ended up parking in the nearby Safeway lot My friends and I ordered the burrata to share, the mushroom papardelle, bucatini, and radiatore. And tiramisu for dessert. The burrata was a solid 7/10. Very light, but on the sweeter side since it comes with figs and apricots. It was yummy, but it hit the least. Radiatore was 10/10. That pasta hit. It was perfectly cooked, I love the pasta shape because it holds so much of the bolognese sauce in the ridges, and the sauce itself was delicious. It was also just a touch spicy which added a good extra layer of flavor. Bucatini also 10/10. The pasta also hit. The pasta noodles were nice and chewy, perfectly al dente and the sauce was flavorful. Papardelle, I wasn't a huge fan but only because its main flavor is mushrooms and I'm a bit of a mushroom hater. My friend really enjoyed it though. Extra note, the past portions are large, so I'd recommend sharing, or packing leftovers for another meal. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert which hit extra. It comes with a little almond cookie which was so good. The tiramisu itself was super moist and the perfect balance of bitter coffee and sweet cream. The service here was also amazing , 10/10. Our server, Diego, was super attentive and helpful. The restaurant automatically adds a 22% gratuity to the bill, which is a lot, but I think it was well deserved this time. Would definitely come again!

A friend of mine has suggested this place several times. Finally happened to be in the area where it worked out for us to go. They didn't have any reservations available at the time that we showed up so we got a table at the bar. Happy hour from 4 to 6. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the focaccia, the salumi board, Casio Pepe, and the bucatini amatriciana. You cannot beat the fresh pasta by far away one of the best meals I've had in a very long time.

    Audrey L.

This place serves Roman style pizza, which has thin crust and rectangular shape. The food here is good, although not the *best* Italian spot I've found. We got focaccia as a starter, and this was solid! I really liked the ricotta it came with. For our mains we got the golden potato pizza and luchame pasta. The golden potato pizza was good, but anchovy overpowered it with salt since the rest of the pizza was a bit bland. The luchame was nice too, but it too was a little on the salty side. The service was great though and the staff was very friendly. Not sure if I would go out of my way to come here again, but we did have a nice meal.

Burrata with wine poached pears, hot coppa, crackers

Dined here during Seattle Restaurant Week so we could get a good sampling of their offerings. The 3 of us ordered the Insalata Mista ( just tasted like a pile of lettuces with parm and lemon/evoo), burrata (wine poached pears, crackers, charcuterie meats), carbonara, bucatini, and tiramisu & warm cookie sundae. Of note: The cookie is an Oatmeal Raisin cookie and not the usual Chocolate Chip. This actually was a nice surprise for us. All in all it was a decent meal. Nothing outstanding IMO but the other 2 in my party said they would come back again. I think I would come back if the service was better. I finished my cocktail a short time after the entrees arrived, and we couldn't find our server to take my wine order until I was almost finished with my carbonara. I'm not a fan of casarecce pasta for Carbonara and it was a dry dish for me. The pasta tasted definitely tasted better with the wine. Unfortunate that I got it so late. We were 1 of 2 tables at this point so not sure why it was so slow. We will give this place another go but I prefer to try other ESR restaurants first.

Really pleasant atmosphere. The server was super nice and helpful. My friend has a nut allergy, and the restaurant was very accommodating. I don't generally like salty food, but I think everything just needed a pinch more salt to bring out the flavors.

The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

Upon arrival after 9:00 pm on a Tuesday, we asked to set in one of the booth but they said no because of their strict policy for the booth the used x 3 or more people. Meanwhile, all 4 booth were empty. The kind waitress then offered to move us to the bar booth if something opened up, we kindly agreed and simple went on with our night at different table. While on the table my friend picked up 3 small little flowers from the base and said happy birthday to me, and I put the little flowers on my hair, then I told the waitress I hope you don't mind, my friend gave this little flowers from the table it is my birthday, to which the waitress replied happy birthday, I have no problem with that!. Then comes the manager, and tells me sarcastically, that is a cute flower but it is not yours to take, you should have asked permission anyways, I told him with a smile, but is my birthday and it a tiny flower may I keep it? He stated no, because other costumers will come in and there are no flowers in the table. I told him to replace it with another from another table and he said No give it back now please. It is not yours to take!!! Me, already feeling unwelcome and missed treated, yet still stayed but couldn't even finish my pizza because of how upset I was. I told my friend I wanted to leave. After closing the tab, I walked upfront and waited for my friend. Upon walking outside, the managers comes after us screaming "hey give me back the flower" you took it, at this point I was still walking ahead on my friend and I can hear the manager yelling "she stole it" give it back now, she is a thief, you come here to steal is that it? I repeatedly, told him I didn't take it and even open my purse and told him to come search it, but he stormed back in while insulting and yelling to me IN PUBLIC! - I was deeply humiliated in front of absolute strangers. I didn't see my friend taking the flower either, and if he did, he never gave it to me otherwise, I would have throw it at his face. The luck of hospitality, professionalism, and simply compassion and dignity from this person is Absolutely Unacceptable. I was treated with far more respect and the Four Seasons (and they did give me flowers), than this ridiculous place. It is a shame that the owner would allow someone like this to be the front of the business. And I feel deeply sorry for their employees to have to endure this person as I saw on their eyes the embarrassment they felt. I deserve nothing else but an apology for the way I was treated. I too work in hospitality, I know what is like to provide costumer service providing healthcare and never in my wildest days would I ever treat anyone with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I recommend this person to be replace or re train. Otherwise it will only affect the business.

They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). Except that this logo has hair made of pasta! Good enough to eat! Give this place a try. You'll leave with a big smile on your faces!

We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. I will say that the drinks are a bit overpriced at more than $20 per drink. Down the street at Zig Zag Cafe they are $17 for a bit "finer dining" feel.

TLDR: Ambience is amazing. Bartender...not so much…read more We came here semi-regularly for the past two years, typically bringing in a handful of people with us, because the ambiance is wonderful (chill space, beautiful decor, warm lighting with a romantic feel to it). Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
