The other gluten-free pizza that was ordered, delicious but uncertain if truly gluten-free
Dana B.

I thought the food was good although some friends in my group were a little mixed on reviews of quality from previous visits. The server was wonderful, handled a group of eight all with separate bills without issue. We had one person in our group with health issues that needed gluten-free, she asked the server several times if the pizza she ordered truly was gluten-free and she was assured It was, but then did get sick afterwards so it was left uncertain as to whether it truly was. The ambience is true to the St Louis Hill, interior vintage and interesting. Would I return? I wouldn't necessarily seek it out on my own, but would go again with a group of friends if that was the selected place. We were going to shop nearby afterwards and they were very accommodating about allowing us to leave our cars in their parking lot.

Roasted vegetable side dish.

The side dish of roasted vegetables are AWESOME! They should be a choice on the menu! All the veggies are fresh and cooked in a delicious wine sauce.

The house salad was remarkable! Fresh romaine with green olives that gave it a little kick. Toasted ravioli were a bit different than other STL traditional toasted ravs - these were tiny little pockets of meat which seemed to be deep fried. Yum! The accompanying meat sauce was really spectacular! Tuttomari was less saucy than other STL dishes but had great flavor. Our server, Bex, was so cheerful and attentive!

I got a to-go order here, the food was ready when I got there but I was missing some items so I had to wait for those. I wouldn't recommend to go as they didn't seem to have a very good system for this. I would stop by and have a drink here sometime, but overall the food was pretty average. The spaghetti didn't have enough sauce or flavor, but the meatballs were really good. Not your traditional toasted ravioli with breading, these reminded me of pie crust. Not bad, just different. The pizza was pretty good but it stuck to the box which had me prying the pizza out!

If you're not coming for the fishbowls alone, what are you doinggg. Iconic. So much history in this place. So much character. You could spend hours just inspecting the decor. The food is the only thing keeping me from giving my full five stars, but they've been making some changes to their menu and chefs recently I hear, and each time I've been in here, I've had a better experience. Nevertheless a GREAT spot for drinks and hanging out on the Hill. The new high-top tables near the bar are prime for groups, either sitting or standing, and the patio is a great little vibe outside as well. I often come with a big group, but the service never suffers. Always quick, attentive, and gracious. Come for the vibes. It's history, it's the Hill, it's familia.

The food was average. We did have some good mushrooms as an appetizer. The waiters were attentive but at times seemed unorganized with running food out or forgetting to bring drinks . We did have lots of left overs . The fish bowls drinks are pretty novel.!

Was close to the Hill and looking for something to eat with the family. Rigazzi's was one of the few restaurants open for lunch and so glad we stopped by. Rigazzi's is a classic restaurant that serves all the dishes you expect as well as some STL ones we were excited to see. Server was quick to take our order and deliver drinks quickly. The Decor inside of Rigazzi's was pretty cool and provides an intimate and causal dining experience. Food was quick and no issues with seasoning or taste, and reasonable prices. Will be back to Rigazzi's, as Sunday is usually a great time for lunch in the Hill. Give them a try!

We made a reservation for a large group awhile in advance for Father's Day. Unfortunately, we still had to wait outside in the heat for at least 20 minutes. They told us it was because our waitress was stuck in traffic. Once we were seats, the service was okay. The food was delicious. I really liked the chicken spedini.

One of the best pastas I've ever had and I'm pretty picky with pasta! First of all, I love that this has a more casual/relaxed vibe compared to other restaurants in the Hill. Parking is easy with a small lot behind and plenty of street parking around the Hill. The inside was spacious with a lot of indoor seating. Came here on a Friday around 5pm and we were seated right away. Service was good and pretty fast. The toasted ravioli and classic wings were good, but the highlight was the salsiccia diavolo! The sauce actually had a spicy kick to it which was perfect (I feel like restaurants don't usually make it that spicy and I have to add crushed red pepper to make it spicier) and ended up tasting even better the next day when I had leftovers. Can't wait to try the other pasta dishes as I've only heard good things!

A wonderful spot to grab a bite in the hill. Very kid friendly and always desired when we are near. Great pizza and you can't go wrong with a fish bowl. Many great restaurants on the hill and Riggazis ranks in the top for how kid friendly and food that is family friendly. Keep up the good work.

We had a great experience! Definitely recommend the Rigazzi's special pizza. Will come back for sure.

Pardiqmano, fried broccoli and Italian soup.
Michael S.

Lunch specials are a good value. For one we chose a chicken Caesar salad. It was large but not too large with plenty of chicken. More importantly, it wasn't overly sauced and lettuce was fresh. The other meal was parmaciano with fried broccoli, creamy Italian soup, snd a small house salad. The meat patty had the flavor and consistency of a meatball covered with cheese and a red sauce. The breaded broccoli was overcooked with a light burnt taste. The soup and salad were excellent. Service was a little distant. There wasn 't immediate follow-up after meal delivery, drinks weren't refilled, and I had to ask for the bill.

Is the pizza still good after change in ownership?

Was not happy with it when I was in there a few weeks ago. Very undercooked in the middle and soggy

I was taught by brother that you should book your first dinner reservation as after flying all day, one is tired, and not able to make good decisions...hence eating at a TGI Fridays in New Orleans on our first night. The only thing that tricked us was the Toasted Ravioli. It has meat in it, and my wife is vegetarian. The Arancini was terrific and the table bread was also quite tasty. My wife had the Manicotti and I had the Chicken Lemonata. So great. The bottle of the house Gitto's Red was the perfect wine as well. The final blow came when not one but two people not associated with our table approached my nephew, 17 yr olds. He was already stopped at hostess desk and asked to remove his hat. He and his parents explained his medical situation, Alopecia. The hostess said she would tell management and there would be no problem. Only after we were enjoying our drinks and appetize did someone feel the need to approach my nephew again in front of the whole table to ask him to remove his hat. Then another came and said same thing. Completely rude. Also very judgmental. You lost a family that loved your food.

Katie even let us make the side shells "pink", by mixing marinara and Alfredo for us. Respectable Americanized-Italian restaurant on The Hill…read more.. I was in town for work with the ole ball and chain, and we met some friends at MOTH for dinner on a Friday... Quint lil restaurant nestled in the middle of the STL Italian district. The restaurant looks like a big Italian family room and smelled like my G-Ma's kitchen. The staff super super friendly and accommodating. As for the food, it was solid Italian but I wouldn't call it "authentic", but more Americanized Italian fare (albeit the toasted raviolis were as good as advertised). We really like that the staff didn't rush you... Good pacing with dinner and no pushiness to turn tables. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the price... $250 for 4 people is expensive regardless of it being STL. While I still contend Gian-Tony's is the best Italian restaurant OTH, MOTH was good and offers an enjoyable dinner experience with friends and family... It's easy to see why they've been a successful family run business for so many years.

Personally, I was raised on the beef ravioli and meat sauce. The flavor is quite distinct. Back in the 80s, the products were sold at Shop N' Save in South County. I do not believe that is still the case, however, I may be mistaken. By the way, as an aside, I recall an Asian lady at Maria and Son recanting to me a story about her crab rangoon. She mentioned how August Busch the IV really liked her crab rangoon. So much so, that he ordered a large quantity for some event at a country club. Location: The store front is situated on a corner along busy Chippewa. If you intend to make your way there, just be aware that you will have to do some fancy parallel parking. One thought is to call ahead and see if the folks in the store might be willing to run the items out to your car. Just a thought. I also believe the company kitchen is located at this location. Where to Buy: Besides this store, I was told by a fellow Yelp user, Lauren K, that you can find Maria and Son products at Herrell's Market in Imperial, MO. If you know of other retail locations of Maria and Son products, please let me know, and I will update this review.
