Combination Lo Mein Dinner Combination (fried rice, Crab Rangoon, egg roll)
    Susie G.

Decided to stop here to celebrate my birthday. The sushi makers immediately welcomed our party and informed us that we could sit wherever. Our server was friendly and attentive the entire evening. I ordered the combination Lo mein dinner special, which came with fried rice, a crab Rangoon, and an egg roll. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the dish. It didn't taste as fresh as I had hoped. The only saving grace was our friendly server who went out of her way to bring us mochi to celebrate my special occasion. Needless to say I will not be returning for the Chinese dishes.

Rice House was the perfect dinner spot for my family. My family order a combo plates and sushi . Yes sushi was on the menu and it was so good . I was able to get a picture of the Honey Wasabi Sushi Roll, but everyone ate them combination plates to quickly to get a pic . I do have to say everything was good and fresh . The service was amazing !

To preface this review, I am pregnant, and was not able to order many things from the menu, also this was a door dash order. I typically enjoy crab and shrimp tempura and enjoyed these rolls. In my opinion the crunchy shrimp roll was better than the honey crab due to the additional texture of the tempura and it also has the sweet sauce on top. The crab rangoon to me was more of a cream cheese wonton, but was still super yummy and came with sweet and sour dipping sauce. I didn't eat much of the soup (I was so full) but it had the traditional thick texture and the egg was exactly what you would expect. I know prices on doordash can differ from the restaurant itself, but all of these items came in a lunch combo on DD for only $14 which I thought was a great value. I would love to come here and try some food at the restaurant itself and maybe after the baby is born so I can try more things!

First time in even thought I've driven by a lot. Two employees that were working the dining room were very nice and super efficient. I had the Jalapeno chicken which was very good. Only comment would be a tad sweeter than what I've had before and could've used more slice jalapenos. Place was cozy and clean. Definitely be back.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Lenexa Kansas. They have the most delicious general tso's chicken and their servings are incredible! The sushi is the best I've had in a while and their ginger salad is delectable. Overall the service is great and they really go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. The staff is super attentive and accommodating. There's one server that has taken care of us every time we go. He bustles around to each and every table. I love rice house! It will always be my go to spot in Lenexa.

All this for $13 and some change after tax. You get your moneys worth and it's so good! Everyone in there was so friendly and genuine too!

We just moved to Lenexa from out of state and we're looking for our new Chinese/sushi place. We ordered togo my first two times here and it was good, quality food. They are quick and have been spot on with our order. Will continue ordering from Rice House!

As soon as we walked in, we were seated right away, given menus, and our drink orders were taken almost immediately. I highly recommend the lunch menu. There are plenty of options, including sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, and appetizers. We ordered the three-roll lunch special and the sashimi. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and cut into thick, generous slices. The sushi rolls were also impressive they were large and packed with filling instead of being mostly rice. The food came out quickly, and the service was attentive from start to finish. Amazing food, great prices, and the excellent customer service.

They absolutely need to get a larger place, especially when they are constantly busy. It was a weekday night when I went, and it was just as busy on times I've been during the weekend. Very cute place, but not great with the amount of clientele. Staff was great and very attentive. I had two whiskey cocktails and they were nice. I enjoy the fact that they have inexpensive Japanese whiskey. I've been expanding my palette, and Toro and Uni are some of my favorite pieces.. but I must say, I was very underwhelmed with their selection. Toro wasn't bad, but the Uni was so... salty. Not how I've had it before. The roll was just okay. I was very impressed with my chicken noodle dish! That was probably my favorite part of my meal.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the space was charming, with a Japanese cooking show playing on a wall mounted tv, nice music playing in the space, and eclectic decor throughout. Everything was also very clean and organized, and I appreciated the amazing prices for the food! The quality is on par with other Japanese restaurants I have been to, which often charge more even for their lunch special. I'll absolutely be returning to Sam's in the future to try more of their food!

I would like to be very honest here, I was really misled by the ratings and reviews here on Yelp…read more While I thought the decor was really nice, added a cute Korean and Japanese touch, the food did let me down. We got the Yummy Combo with Garden Salad ($17), the Mango Tango Roll ($14), and the Sakura Blossom Roll ($14). The service was fast, and our server was very sweet and caring. To begin with, even though the sushi looked colorful and appealing, it lacked taste. It was missing seasoning, felt stale, and had almost zero freshness. It reminded me of the premade sushi you get at PanAsia, Target, or Sam's Club. Freshness is a huge factor for me when I go out for sushi, but this just didn't have it. The rice was dry by the time it reached our table, and it wasn't sticky enough. It felt like the cold rice was microwaved and then used to make sushi - that's the feeling I got. I also didn't think it was worth the money. We spent over $50 + after tax and tip for three rolls, which is similar to what many other sushi restaurants charge, but those places serve much fresher and better quality sushi - Sushi Uni in Lenexa. The garden salad dressing was also a complete disappointment. It had no distinct ginger flavor or even enough seasoning. It was very thick and heavily spread over the salad, which made it unpleasant to look at and eat. Overall, the service was excellent, but the food didn't live up to the ratings or the price. The three stars are for the lovely server, the beautiful decor, and the well presented sushi. I really hope they improve the freshness because, based on the older reviews, they seem to have the potential to serve much better sushi. If they do, I will be the first one to definitely come back to try more of their beautiful looking rolls.

We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.
