I've never seen it packed, but the stream of take out orders attests to their quality and popularity. The choices are what you would expect without being overwhelming. Visited this place Friday evening and was automatically greeted. The atmosphere was welcoming and she was very attentive the entire time. We ordered a large egg drop soup and two dinners off of the combination dinner menu. I ordered the combination lo mein and it was delicious--could've had more shrimp, but tasted so good. This is my "go to" for really good Chinese. They have a steady take out business which I've used on a regular basis but I've also eaten in. Even if you walk in & order to go, it takes only minutes for them to prepare and send you on your way. The portions are generous and I've never been disappointed. My daughter and I tried this place out and the atmosphere was very cute and everything smelled wonderful! It appeared they are a family owned restaurant and not much help but surprisingly the server / owner was on top of her game and didn't neglect us. So I've lived in Shawnee for 6 years, always go to the Target right by here and somehow just discovered this Chinese place. My husband and I have been on the hunt for a good chinese restaurant by our house but haven't found one that has ever been worth ordering from again. Well this one made the cut! We ordered through Doordash so it was nice to be able to have such a great first time experience without even having to walk through the door! The food was fresh and hot when it came to us. The portion sizes are awesome for the price point. Everything we tried was great. We ordered chicken dishes like sweet and sour chicken and general tsos. My husband said the chicken tasted really good and fresh. The egg drop soup was good and the little wontons weren't stale (a problem we've had with other places in our area.) I do wish there were more veggies in the lo mein but I'll ask for that next time. The crab ragoons were tasty....a little on the sweet side, but not as sweet as some other places we've tried in the past. Overall, we will be ordering from them again! We are new to the area and ordered several dishes from here. They were all good. I like the doughy dumplings and that's the kind they make here, so I was happy about that. We all liked the Kung Pao chicken the best. I had the Szechuan chicken and like SUPER spicy food. This used to be a favorite place before the pandemic. I went out of my way to stop by for dinner and got my old usual, shrimp with lobster sauce. No one else was in the restaurant. The shrimp literally tasted like they had been washed in bleach. They were maybe five peas and two tiny carrot chunks in the sauce. Plenty of shrimp, so at least they didn't short that. The place also smelled like it was having plumbing difficulties - rather like a porta potty. Unfortunate. I'm giving it to stars because it used to be 4-5 stars and maybe I just hit on a bad night? But I have some concerns about what I just ate. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

The serving size was generous, and lunch included a delicious spring roll and okay egg drop soup and fried noodles. My dine-in order was ready just six minutes after I ordered at the table. The service was somewhat friendly, and the dining area was clean, with sweet and sour sauce on the tables, but no background music. I noticed a slightly unpleasant odor as I entered. The restaurant doesn't look like much when you see it in the small three or four store front building, but I'm glad I stopped by. I ordered the pork lo mein with fried rice and crab Rangoon. The pork lo mein and crab Rangoon were flavorful and the fried rice as a "side" for the combo was good however it only had a little bit of egg and a little bit of onion and I would've liked to have had veggies in it. When you order fried rice as a meal, they are veggies in it. Overall, I will be a repeat customer. read more

Just started to going to get carry out here recently after a wonderful recommendation from my neighbors. Food does not disappoint. Very hot even after taking home. But what has prompted me to write this review is the staff. I accidentally left my credit card on the counter, and did not realize it. We all know what kind of disaster that can be. However hours later when I discovered it gone, I went back to the restaurant. Honest, trustworthy people! As I came in the door , the beautiful woman with round glasses pulled my card out from under the counter. I guess they had tried to call me but it went to scam call. (!) I don't know if she is the owner or staff but she was so gracious and helpful. Man in back even came out to see me get the card. I usually love the food however the last few times I ordered were horrendous the spring field cashew chicken, tasted like they got it from a hole in the ground in the field, it was boring and did not taste like asian food at all! Then the next order pork egg foo yuck it was shredded and burnt, and way to salty, and the general chows chicken I usually love was like eating cardboard, hard and chewey and like a cardboard substance, I don't know if they want us as a customer anymore. We stopped by to order dinner for take out and ate at our hotel dining, when I noticed in the middle of me eating almost half of my food portion of beef broccoli, I found a couple of maggot worms in my tray. I was grossed out and upset about how they let this happen, I pregnant also so I easily get grossed out very quick and threw up my whole dinner, I also had a bad stomach ache 2 hours later. I was going to take a picture of the maggots but my husband had already tossed my plate in the trash. I would NOT eat here ever again until they learn how to properly store and seal their food areas and with a health inspector's approval stating that this place is safe and healthy to eat. read more

Dropped in for lunch on a weekday. Seating area is clean and organized with a register and picture menu at the far end of the room for to-go orders. Service was quick and friendly. My order was taken immediately and soup delivered very fast. Unfortunately, the food was not very good at all. The egg drop soup was flavorless. My General Tso's chicken was bland, with no spice and just a hint of sweetness. The chicken meat was so chewy that I just quit eating after trying three pieces. The fried rice was similarly bland, and the crab rangoon was just fried cream cheese. The lunch prices are so low that it's worth maybe giving another dish a try, but I'm in no rush. It's the only Chinese food in the area (to my knowledge), so if you have a craving, this is your spot. read more

We arrived about 35 minutes before closing. All the employees were in the dining room on their cell phones, which I don't see as a problem since there were no customers. However, the guy who ended up being our server told us they close in 30 minutes and pushed for us to get a to go order multiple times. There were only 2 of us and it doesn't take long to cook Chinese food, so we told him we were staying. He was clearly not impressed that he had to actually deal with customers. He was very unfriendly the entire 25 minutes we were there. We should have left without ordering anything. The food was underwhelming. I got cashew chicken with fried rice. I don't like fried rice and assumed it came with steamed rice, so that was my fault. It was very dry and the flavors didn't go well with the flavor of the chicken. The chicken was cooked very well, but the actual flavor didn't really float my boat. My boyfriend got Mongolian beef. He said it smelled burned and was only an average dish. I didn't try it so that's pretty much all I'll say about that. The restaurant itself had a very odd smell. I couldn't really place what I was smelling, but it was off putting. I really want to love this place. I just can't. This will be the fourth time I have tried it. The one thing I do love is the hot and sour soup. It is spicy and has a large amount of assorted whatsits and so-called vegetables, but it's flavorful. I have ordered the kong pao chicken, the cashew chicken twice, and the sesame chicken. All three tasted like the other. Just small chunks of chicken, vegetables sauteed in soy sauce, and an unnecessary amount of cashews/peanuts. I would go somewhere else if I were you. Not a bad take out option for Chinese food, but I wouldn't call it the best in the area. They do offer delivery, but it's quicker to just pick your order up. An A-OK rating seems about right. The space itself doesn't invite me to dine in, but I could say that about of a lot of them in the area. Our portion size to price was really good. Nothing blew me away, but nothing was disappointing at the same time. The food was ready in the time quoted which I liked. I've been to some other places only to sit and wait. I liked the moo goo gai pan and orange chicken, but as with many places, even if you ask for spicy, it never seems to deliver on the heat level. The rice was fine, but I wasn't big of the crab rangoon. I do have my eye on the curry chicken, so we'll give that a go the next time. read more
