Lunch special soups
Melissa T H.

A-ok lunch here because the lunch Mongolian beef was great... 4 stars with the tender beef, grilled green onions and fabulous flavor. Everything else was just ok, though I wouldn't crave it again: The Rangoons were made with unusually thick wonton wrapper (which I didn't care for) the plum sauce was on the thin side and had little flavor, the honey chicken was too heavily breaded and the pieces a little smaller than I like. The fried rice was too heavy on the soy sauce. It was all edible, but just not great. The service was attentive; she checked on us often, which we appreciated. The interior was comfortable and we would give other entrees another chance if we are close by as the lunch specials were very reasonably priced, but I won't drive out of the way.

Best Chinese we have had in the area. Prepared expertly and was very fresh. Loved this place, staff were very friendly. Look forward to my next visit.

Beef Lo Mien
Kristen S.

Yes!!! Found a good Chinese food restaurant that delivers to Shawnee. I ordered the hot and sour soup, beef Lo mien and Szechuan chicken. The hot and sour soup was a little bland; but, the Szechuan and Lo mien made up for it. I could not stop eating the Szechuan chicken. The Lo mien had an interesting subtle hint of a smokey flavor. It was quite good. I typically have to add soy sauce for extra flavoring on Lo mien, but it was not necessary. Price was reasonable and the portion size was generous. I'm looking forward to eating the left overs.....I have a feeling once the favors settle it is going to taste even better.

Their menu consists of a lot of dishes, and some are quite unique .. you don't usually see items like bird's nest dishes at most Chinese restaurants around here except for maybe Bolings. Me and my husband visited on a Saturday night around 8 pm and really devoured our meal. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you honestly can't go wrong with stir fries at any Chinese restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered chicken egg rolls, which were hefty and filling. For the main course, I ordered the chicken in black bean stir fry, and my husband got the shrimp Kung Pao chicken stir fry. We paired both with steamed rice. The black bean chicken was rich and earthy, with that deep, slightly funky flavor from the fermented black beans. It was very umami, salty and complimented nicely with the fresh, crisp vegetables and well-cooked chicken. I really liked it. The shrimp Kung Pao was spicy and tangy, with perfectly cooked shrimp (the fried shrimp covering was chefs kiss) and crispy veggies. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. The egg rolls were about $4 for two pieces, and the stir fries were around $17+ each. The portions are quite large compared to other places in the area, so the pricing seemed reasonable. For 2 main course dishes your bill could easily reach up to $40. Otherwise, The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind, and service was quick. It also wasn't too crowded when we visited. I would rate the service 4/5, mainly because we had to ask for silverware, condiments, and tissues separately. The food, though, is definitely a 5/5. Highly recommended! I will definitely return to have more dishes like beef chow fun, the soups and last, but not least BIRDS NEST!!

The standout dish was definitely the bird's nest--it had the best flavor overall. The duck was a bit too fatty, and the calamari was heavily battered and greasy. The teriyaki chicken is my personal favorite - so much rich, savory flavor, and I love that it's paired simply with fresh green beans. It's the perfect complementary combo. Their fried rice? Delicious even on its own - full of flavor without needing anything added. The crab Rangoon are hands-down my favorite in the city: perfectly crisp, proportioned, creamy, and addictively good. The egg rolls knocked our socks off, and the General Tso's chicken was incredible - fresh, tender meat with a depth of flavor you can actually taste. And whatever you do, get the Chinese donuts. Hot, fresh, and I'm not kidding - better than DD. They gave me so many that we couldn't even finish them, and they still tasted amazing two days later. My regular place now!

I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice with extra shrimp and it was enough for two nights of dinner! The shrimp were big and it had the most perfect amount. It tasted so delicious and didn't leave me feeling gross after (as some places can). We ordered takeout online and they were so quick to have our order ready and had it sitting on the counter ready for us when we walked in which was so nice! Although we didn't eat inside, the restaurant seemed really cozy and welcoming! I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

I usually come here for dim sum, and it is upsetting for me to say that my husband and I should've chose somewhere else to eat for dinner. For dinner, we ordered fried rice and chow fun. Those two main entrées were okay. You can't really mess up those two fillers at an Asian restaurant. We ordered scallion pancakes- they came out soggy and soft. Not even crispy like how they usually are. The flavor wasn't there either. If I wanted microwaved scallion pancakes, then I would've bought them from the store and made them myself. My husband ordered the short ribs- they were bland and tough like rubber. It had a funky taste to it that he couldn't describe and he had to force himself to swallow it because he didn't want food to go to waste. I ordered the chicken feet- this is one of dim sum's signature dishes and I am so upset I didn't even get to enjoy one of the dishes I always order. It was dry and the flavor wasn't there. The service was fantastic. They checked in on us and made sure our water was filled. The timing of the food coming in and out was fine. The ambiance was inviting. There was a sense of urgency and I appreciated that.
