Ordered carry out for the first time based on reviews and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious! It was ready when we arrived, which was a few minutes before the time noted. Crab Rangoon were fully stuffed, not a little dab in the center like some places. General Tso's chicken medium spice was perfect and so tasty. I have no idea what China Inn looks like from the inside, nor could I tell you how to find it, but I can tell you that they make great to-go Chinese food as I've ordered from them via DoorDash many times. They always run great deals, and during my postpartum haze they came in clutch at least once or twice. The food always arrives hot, it's super affordable, and it will 10000% satisfy your craving for stereotypical Chinese/American fare. I stumbled upon this place while searching for a 'dine in' Chinese restaurant in South Olathe. I called a couple of restaurants, but they were 'carry out' only d/t the Pandemic. As GPS searched for nearby places in the area I found myself real close to China Inn so decided to give it a try. As I approached the door, I found it to be quaint & lo and behold it was 'dine in'. How bout that?! There were 4 tables that seated a mere 16 ppl & it was full! The restaurant was clean, warm & inviting with a steady flow of pick-up orders. It had its daily lunch special which was very reasonable & you could also choose from a few already prepared entrées as well as the menu. The food was fresh & delicious! The staff was nice & accommodating which made my lunch experience so worthwhile. I observed the interaction with other customers & all were treated as if they were the only customer. Tried this place today because it is close to work and I was tired of the same ole - same ole. I wanted something different so I ventured to this restaurant (after a glance at YELP!). I was very pleased with my choice. The restaurant is in a busy strip mall and parking was a challenge at noon. After a few circles, though.. I managed to find a good spot. The restaurant was brightly lit and looked all sparkly clean and that is always a good sign. Another good sign was that the place was very busy. People coming on, going out in significant numbers. Here is how this place is set up for lunch: They have several lunch combo options. You can get one entree with one side or 2 entree's with 2 sides, etc for a very reasonable price. It is quick serve. They scoop it out into a container and off you go! I think the combos even come with soup. I did not give this place 5 stars because of the limited options available. The main courses they offered for entrees on the Lunch Scoop Special were not anything I wanted to eat. They had a very anemic looking broccoli beef, a super thick sauced honey chicken, a spicy beef and another super thick sauced General's chicken. There were no all veggie options or seafood options. The only beef options were the meager broccoli beef and The Who-Knows-How-Spicy beef. The person waiting on me was very nice. He let me taste the honey chicken. It was good but double coated in extra thick sweet syrupy sauce. No thanks. I had to order off the menu and it was a bit pricey. My total came to $14 and I thought that was a bit much for lunch. At the very least, if someone is not going to get the Lunch Scoop Special, they should have other lunch options. My fried cashew chicken was to-go and it was given to me in a very interesting way. I was given a container of the main dish, another container of the sauce and a container for the rice. I thought it quite clever, actually, because you get to mix it up yourself. You can control how much of the sauce you use which is always a plus. The containers were very good, thick containers so they did not scrimp on containers. Pleasant atmosphere, great customer service, good food. I just wish they had more Lunch Scoop choices or more lunch menu options. I understand the name of the game for lunch- get them quickly, feed them fast and get them out promptly- so they have to minimize their choices. Still would be nice to go just a little extra. I've been coming here for about a year for their lunch specials, for about $7 you get enough in the 'to-go' box for lunch and dinner. It's always been super fast service when I come here. even if there is a line it's over in about 5 minutes. the only issue is parking. it's really hard to find a parking spot over the lunch hour. read more

My chicken with vegetables lunch ($5.75) was ready just three minutes after I ordered at the counter, and included a generous portion of tasty fried rice with pieces of scrambled eggs, a good amount of white meat, a good variety of nicely cooked veggies, a tasty egg roll, and a crab rangoon with plenty of creamy goodness. It was Sunday and I was craving hot and sour soup. My friend had to go to Hen House and quickly found out they don't have Chinese on Sunday. Hubby to the rescue! He suggested China Inn right across from our favorite QuikTrip. Not only did they have hot and sour soup, but it was very yuuuuuuummy. They gave us a menu and checked them out for lunch. Sooooo good! Been back again and again (somebody in our house looooves Chinese and it's not me!). Very extensive menu, very fresh and really, really good. Perfect to pick-up and take home.
