This is a good local Chinese-American restaurant. If you are used to authentic, this won't be your preference, but it is good quality and well-seasoned. Their egg drop soup is incredible. Two choices in town and this one was just ok. Szechuan chicken had good spice but veggie bites were huge. Plastic fork won't cut it. Chicken looked scary but was good. Like I said, just ok but much like all Chinese places on the KS side of the river. read more

Order the steamed dumplings and ask for extra sauce. Then use that sauce with their fried rice. Food is delicious and it's fast and easy.

Quality of food is excellent and service is the best. Reasonably priced as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is our go-to Chinese restaurant here in Gardner. There are a couple. But, this one is our absolute favorite, no contest. The family that owns and runs it are so friendly and pleasant and the service is fantastic. They do a really good business. So they are often busy. But, I am still always amazed at how quickly they get your order cooked and ready even with lots of orders all day long. They also have a nice big menu. So usually there is something for everyone. I have tried a few different dishes and they have all been very good. No dine in available right now during COVID-19. But, they do a heck of a to-go business and it's worth it. Stay as far away from this place as you can. The food is probably the worst I've eaten anywhere. Chicken is disgusting, and the rice is even worse. It may sound tempting because it is cheap, but I promise you it's cheap for a reason. Also, I went to the restroom which is located in the back of the restaurant. I ordered over the phone, the girl helping me was very nice. They were very quick with my order as well. I ordered lo mien and fried rice. The lo mien was very good. It had a lot of flavor. I will say the fried rice could have used a little more flavor, but other than that, it was delicious. They have very reasonable prices and they pack the containers full of food. The food is always fresh, tastes fantastic and is ready in such a short turnaround! The staff is super friendly and the prices are great!

Covid has nothing to do with food quality this just thrown together junk and I guess since it in the middle of Gardner KS people come back but I thought it was not good the lo mein noodles had no onion,carrots or cabbage nothing but oil and soy sauce and the sesame chicken was orange chicken with some seeds thrown on no effort as far as flavor and quality nothing just get the money an d hope for the best not the way the restaurant business work has to be about Food Quality!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 2nd experience at China Taste and I have to say it was much improved from the first. I would give it more along the lines of a 3.5-3.75. We had the white meat(which is without breading) orange chicken and generals chicken. Both dishes were very tasty and came with crab Rangoon. We also had a small side of lo mein and fried dumplings that were very tasty. I look forward to trying China Taste again and will revisit the rating upon our next experience. read more

We live in Overland Park and will drive to this China taste every time we want Chinese food. This food is so delicious, prices are great and portions are large. I won't even eat Chinese anywhere else. I always get the garlic chicken. It's delicious. The general tsos, crab Rangoon, egg drop soup and free dumplings are great as well.
