Eaten here a lot over the years. Seems to have gone down hill. My final straw was finding fried chicken feather in my food.

I love this place!! Sure it's your typical Americanized Chinese with all the typical favorites, but that's what I'm usually in the mood for. The service is great - super friendly, super fast, and have never messed up my order. The place is clean. The food is amazing! This is a great little Chinese place tucked away in a strip mall. There is minimal seating but for orders to go, you can't beat it. The portions they give are HUGE and the taste is as good as I have had from a 'fast food' Chinese place. The crab rangoon, chicken dumplings and shrimp egg rolls are incredible. The food is cooked well and they have the expected variety of Americanized Chinese food. I have never eaten at the location itself, only called in for pick-up. Whether it's dinner for two or a lunch for six, your China Taste order is ready in 10 minutes. The portions given are large and will fill you up quickly. Prices are decent as well. My feelings about this place pretty much echo what's already been posted - good stuff. I will add that if you get takeout and don't live 20 minutes away, you'd better be careful when you grab things out of the bag. Your food will be HOT! It seems like a little detail thing, but it's great how they stick cardboard in between the layers of things in the bag so you don't have a big bag of soup when you get home. My wife and I have never had a bad meal from this place. The Buddhist Delight with tofu is good for the herbivores in the crowd. read more

"The best American Chinese in Gardner, Kansas" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement, but that's exactly what China Taste is. China Taste is what one might expect from a relatively cheap Chinese restaurant, only their food quality exceeds the ordinary. No matter how much you order, your food will be ready for pick-up in 10 to 15 minutes. Everything is made fresh, and the cooks know what they're doing. The combination dishes are big enough to feed any appetite, and are packaged cheaply in plastic/foil trays. I can personally recommend the general chicken, beef/chicken and broccoli, and pepper steak /w onion. The place itself is a hole-in-the-wall, with very little seating. The kitchen is easily viewable from the register. I've never eaten inside the establishment because it's noisy and hot. I recommend their take out. We don't live very close to good Chinese, so we have been craving for quite a while. China Taste filled the bill (and my family)! Not impressed one bit! Ordered general tso chicken and pork lo mein. Asked for extra spicy chicken which was no more spicy than at other restaurants. General Tso was not like I've had before. Sauce was very light and tasted more like honey chicken. Even though it was different, it wasn't tasty. The lo mein was very plain. Nothing but pork, noodles and sauce.
