No thanks! The quality of the food has gone down and prices are higher! Why change the egg roll recipe?! Is there a new owner??

Heavy on the onion and scallions, but otherwise perfect! Maybe next time I'd add broccoli and mushrooms for a fee? Not too busy at 5:30 on a Friday, so it's quiet and there's Christmas music piping through the speakers. Service is excellent.

Lucky Wok probably does more of their overall business with online ordering and takeout than they do for dine-in. It's easy to order online: just bring up the website, make your selections, check out & pay. And don't forget to tip! Pickup is just as simple, just let the host know that you're there for carry out and your hot food comes out. If there is any knock, then it might be that the turnaround time from order to food is not always as promised. But the quality of the food is wonderful, so I can let a few minutes go here & there. And the prices are really good, especially when you see how much food you get! An order of General Tso's chicken with a side of rice runs me $14+ and I'm not kidding when I say that is easily two meals for me and usually three. Many of the dinner specials come with a side, and the egg rolls and spring rolls are excellent. My wife is a big fan of their wonton soup, a hot, nourishing homemade broth that cures what ails ya. Great food, great location (especially for me), and great value. Definitely worth a try.

Tucked away in a small corner of Lenexa, Monkey King Chinese BBQ & Noodle Restaurant feels like one…read moreof the most authentic Chinese spots in the Kansas City metro area. Their menu consists of a lot of dishes, and some are quite unique .. you don't usually see items like bird's nest dishes at most Chinese restaurants around here except for maybe Bolings. Me and my husband visited on a Saturday night around 8 pm and really devoured our meal. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you honestly can't go wrong with stir fries at any Chinese restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered chicken egg rolls, which were hefty and filling. For the main course, I ordered the chicken in black bean stir fry, and my husband got the shrimp Kung Pao chicken stir fry. We paired both with steamed rice. The black bean chicken was rich and earthy, with that deep, slightly funky flavor from the fermented black beans. It was very umami, salty and complimented nicely with the fresh, crisp vegetables and well-cooked chicken. I really liked it. The shrimp Kung Pao was spicy and tangy, with perfectly cooked shrimp (the fried shrimp covering was chefs kiss) and crispy veggies. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. The egg rolls were about $4 for two pieces, and the stir fries were around $17+ each. The portions are quite large compared to other places in the area, so the pricing seemed reasonable. For 2 main course dishes your bill could easily reach up to $40. Otherwise, The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind, and service was quick. It also wasn't too crowded when we visited. I would rate the service 4/5, mainly because we had to ask for silverware, condiments, and tissues separately. The food, though, is definitely a 5/5. Highly recommended! I will definitely return to have more dishes like beef chow fun, the soups and last, but not least BIRDS NEST!!

The standout dish was definitely the bird's nest--it had the best flavor overall. The duck was a bit too fatty, and the calamari was heavily battered and greasy. It took them a little longer than I was quoted but it wasn't too much longer. The interior was very small with a capacity of 10. They do have a table but that's pretty much it. I would plan on taking it to go just due to space. Everyone was friendly and they made sure my order was correct when it was completed. I went with the beef and broccoli dinner combo. You get either white or fried rice. I went with fried. And it comes with an egg roll and a crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon was large and had a sweet flavor to it. FYI: They use imitation crab for my friends with shellfish allergies. I also ordered an additional order of Rangoon and I wasn't disappointed with that decision. I think the egg roll was just a veggie one, they do have a pork and chicken option. It was fine but I preferred the Rangoon. I would try the other egg roll options in the future. I also added on a hot mustard sauce. That's a must. It's spicy. The beef and broccoli was really good. The broccoli was fresh and there were a few carrots. The beef was tender and without that weird fatty, gristly stuff. Definitely good quality. The fried rice was a bit plain. It's literally just fried rice, no veggies or egg. But it's also not at an up charge so I can't really complain. I also ordered egg drop soup. It's delicious and such a good value. I highly recommend it. I definitely plan on returning to try a few other menu options.

Both were a great deal for the price, good sized portions, and they come with a cup of soup too. My beef with mushrooms had insane flavor and I will be back asap for more. The fried rice was pretty good for a lunch special and the white rice is so fluffy! General Tso's has a decent kick, so be careful if you're more of a mild General Tso's person. Only downsides: the takeout bag had stuff leaking everywhere, and the egg rolls got soggy from steaming in the container. Also would've loved the crispy noodles for the soup. Dine-in is super limited (one table), but they do have chairs if you're waiting on a pickup. Parking was surprisingly easy: instead of pulling straight off the busy main road, you turn onto the side street and enter the lot from there, so you don't have to panic trying to cut into traffic. There's also a decent amount of parking around the area. Staff was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed.
