Good carry out location for very solid Chinese food in the area. Lots of traditional favorites like beef and broccoli, colrab rangoon, egg rolls, spring rolls, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, different types of fried rice, and good soups. Every time I order, my food is ready on time, and they are super nice. If you want one, they even will sell you a t-shirt!

My chicken with mixed vegetables lunch (reasonably priced at $6.35) included choice of one side item. It was served eight minutes after I placed my order behind a line of tables arranged (during COVID) about 10 feet from the counter, where the service was just accommodative. The portion sizes were good, and everything was perfectly cooked, with a fair amount of white chicken, a good variety of veggies, an okay brown sauce, and a tasty egg roll, while the fried rice was flavorful, but somewhat dry. Overall, A-OK.

On my never-ending quest to eat Chinese Food from every location possible, I happened upon Chen's one night when I was trying to find a place I haven't eaten at before. They were pretty busy for late in the evening. I was excited to see some things on their menu that were a little out of the ordinary. I had sesame shrimp. It was good, but over sauced. The fried rice was not very good at all. The crab rangoon seemed fresh and handmade, but a little sweet. I'll go back, but I'll order differently next time.

Their menu consists of a lot of dishes, and some are quite unique .. you don't usually see items like bird's nest dishes at most Chinese restaurants around here except for maybe Bolings. Me and my husband visited on a Saturday night around 8 pm and really devoured our meal. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you honestly can't go wrong with stir fries at any Chinese restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered chicken egg rolls, which were hefty and filling. For the main course, I ordered the chicken in black bean stir fry, and my husband got the shrimp Kung Pao chicken stir fry. We paired both with steamed rice. The black bean chicken was rich and earthy, with that deep, slightly funky flavor from the fermented black beans. It was very umami, salty and complimented nicely with the fresh, crisp vegetables and well-cooked chicken. I really liked it. The shrimp Kung Pao was spicy and tangy, with perfectly cooked shrimp (the fried shrimp covering was chefs kiss) and crispy veggies. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. The egg rolls were about $4 for two pieces, and the stir fries were around $17+ each. The portions are quite large compared to other places in the area, so the pricing seemed reasonable. For 2 main course dishes your bill could easily reach up to $40. Otherwise, The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind, and service was quick. It also wasn't too crowded when we visited. I would rate the service 4/5, mainly because we had to ask for silverware, condiments, and tissues separately. The food, though, is definitely a 5/5. Highly recommended! I will definitely return to have more dishes like beef chow fun, the soups and last, but not least BIRDS NEST!!

The standout dish was definitely the bird's nest--it had the best flavor overall. The duck was a bit too fatty, and the calamari was heavily battered and greasy. From the moment we sat down, the staff were attentive, friendly, and quick without ever feeling rushed. Our food came out promptly, which is impressive considering how many different plates we ordered to share family‑style. It matched what other diners say about ABC Cafe having fast, efficient service in a small, busy dining room. We started with the salt and pepper soft shell crab, which was a standout--crispy, well‑seasoned, and generous on the portion. The BBQ pork was tender and flavorful, exactly what you want from a Cantonese BBQ staple. The chicken chow mein and chicken and snap peas were both well‑executed comfort dishes, with fresh vegetables and balanced sauces that worked for everyone at the table, including the kids. The chicken eggplant hot pot brought that sizzling, savory, slightly smoky depth you hope for in a clay‑pot style dish, and it stayed hot throughout the meal. The whole steamed flounder was another highlight--delicate, flaky, and seasoned in a way that let the freshness of the fish shine without being drowned in sauce. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, consistent with ABC Cafe's reputation for authentic Cantonese flavors and a wide, well‑executed menu. Overall, our lunch at ABC Cafe was excellent: great food, quick ticket times, and warm, attentive service in a casual, family‑friendly setting.I'd happily recommend this place to anyone looking for real Chinese cooking in Overland Park, whether you're going with family, out‑of‑town guests, or just craving a table full of shareable plates
