I remember when this was Pizza Hut! ha ha!! This is way better. I have ordered many different things from the menu. While much of it is similar (how many ways can one prepare meat and tortillas!?) it is all very good. I don't think I have ever had anything bad here. We try to talk our kids into going here all the time! Service is fast and servers are very nice. Margaritas are great. We tear through two baskets of chips every time we go. Nothing fancy but the food was solid. The waitstaff was unassuming and helpful. The proportions were perfect The cheesy shrimp didn't even need the flour tortillas. Like many others writing here, my folks and I stopped to eat at Ray-Azteca while making the long trek across PA. I have to agree with other reviewers who say that this is not authentic - not that I'm an expert, but it doesn't really even come close to what I've had at other Mexican restaurants/homemade by friends. The guacamole was particularly disappointing (no lime? Really?). I would, however, give a thumbs-up to the bean dip (covered in queso blanco yummm). Probably the best food you're going to get in Somerset though, and it's not bad, all things considered. read more

Passing through town on the way west. Stopped here for dinner. Complimentary chips & salsa were very good. Especially liked that the chips weren't too salty. I had a very tasty beef chimichanga. My daughter had a quesadilla & my wife a spinach enchilada. I don't know how authentic it was, but we were all satisfied. I also liked the variety on the menu. We come through Somerset annually and never seem to have a place to stop for a decent meal. Finally, we have one! Very solid Mexican food in the middle of nowhere. Recommend the enchilada with green sauce in particular. Beef taco also good. Restaurant is clean. And staff super friendly and welcoming. Will be back when we drive through next year! read more

Rey-Azteca is a great place to get some delicious food that is also easy on the wallet. The chips and especially the salsa are tasty. I had the tostada which was very good. I also had the sampler where you pick two items. The burrito was good and the enchilada was even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Fantastic service fantastic food. Servings were huge- had to get takeout containers so we could have fried ice cream. The refried beans were wonderful. Definitely not from a can. I asked , and he makes it to to 3 times a day. It was very reasonably priced, and he definitely didn't need a salt or pepper shaker. My fussiest kid was happy with the food. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious lunch we had at this restaurant! We had gotten off the turnpike and were hungry. We ordered the chili rellenos which is our favorite. We received peppers that were not breaded and filled with shredded chicken. Totally different than any we had ever ordered. But we loved them!!! Great job! We had an excellent time at the restaurant. We took a bit of a chance but it definitely paid off. It has great authentic Mexican food, great chips and salsa and some amazing margaritas (and apparently a good Mojito, but I can't speak for that). I came from DC area where it is a restaurant heaven. So I've had Tex Mex food before. I now live in Somerset. I went to the Johnstown restaurant first and enjoyed it so much that I would drive up there just to eat at Rey Azteca. When the Somerset restaurant opened you can imagine my joy. I go there at least once a week. Fast, friendly service, and the food is excellent and abundant every time. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time. read more

Great food and service! They have very tasty drinks, my favorite is the Lemon-Lime Soda! I had tacos before from there, they are excellent! My family and I are staying at the Holiday Inn Express here for a family ski trip and wanted a good, quality dinner. After searching through reviews on yelp we found this restaurant, Rey-Azteca, & it definitely was as good as everyone else said. Considering it was a week day, there was no dinner time rush and we were sat right away. Chips & salsa were brought immediately and within 10 mins we had our order in and on the way. We always stop here on our yearly trip to Somerset (this is our 3rd or 4th visit) and are never disappointed! I usually get the enchilladas...I once had homemade enchilladas when I was a kid and they lived in my dreams ever since...I tried and tried to find a place that could make them the same way and finally found them here at Rey Azteca's! The frozen margaritas are good also. They are big though, so I'd suggest a medium. The only thing I don't like about this place is their small parking lot...but I can live with that!
