This is our favorite restaurant in Johnstown! Always fast service and great food. We've never had to wait for a table or anything

I chose to stop here for a weekday dinner this week, because it was convenient and I had never been inside before - I have to be totally honest here and say why - their front door is always dirty. It has streaks and handprints that are visible from the road as you pass by, and it actually deters us. The food was okay. The chips and salsa were good, but we were not asked prior to dinner orders if we would like any guacamole or queso, but we chose to order queso anyway after our main food order was placed. I chose a 'bistec' (thin flat steak) with an adobado sauce - which when I asked for a description of, (thinking it was a version of adobo?) I was told by my server they had not tried it, but 'did not think it was spicy'. I am okay with some spice to my food, so I ventured for it. It was indeed spicy. I was able to enjoy it regardless, with the accompanying avocado / mash / salad.. My dinner companion ordered a different dish altogether, and it was covered in the same sauce (not disclosed on the menu) - she would have liked some sour cream to accompany, but never again did our server visit the table until it was clear we were no longer eating. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying the place, but I was not impressed. read more

Overall, really solid Mexican option in Johnstown! There are a couple Mexican options in town; in comparison, Luna Azteca is a good option. Service here is consistency speedy and courteous. The menu is quite large. During my most recent visit, I had a heck of time deciding what to eat. I eventually decided on the Guadalajara special. I knew it was a mix of a bunch of things and chicken. Overall it was good. Not great. It was just an overwhelming amount of food. So much so that I ended up taking over half of it home. The tortilla chips on my plate were so saturated with food they quickly got soggy, and as expected, the food I took home was not ideal to reheat. Word of caution: The alcoholic beverages are not cheap. Corona will rack you $6. Mixed drinks and margs run up to $12-$15 (depending on what you order.) For the area, the prices for drinks is steep. Overall though, the homemade chips and salsa is excellent, the taco salads are great, and food prices are quite reasonable. read more

Food was delicious and Jason's service was excellent. Very pleasant, attentive, and efficient.

Just paid 50 dollars for take out get home and missing an entire meal called repeatedly only to get solid busy signal

My family loves this place. The food is always very good. The service is fast and the staff are friendly.

The food at Luna Azteca is really top notch compared to any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been too. The service is satisfactory, it could be more inviting. It's something to work on. The ambiance is good, I typically enjoy the music they play it covers a wide range of styles from traditional to modern Mexican music. read more

We had dinner here last Friday night. They were busy, but we had just missed most of the rush. I moved here 20 years ago from Texas, so I have trouble finding Mexican food that I really like. The workers and management were all very friendly and helpful. The menu was extensive. You should have no trouble finding what you are looking to eat. I had Pollo Crema which came with fresh, hot tortillas and beans and rice. It was delicious. My friend had a large variety platter with a little of everything and left the plate clean! My grandson had a cheese quesadilla which he loved and ate all of it! They even had sweet tea to please this southerner! The restaurant is very clean and decorated brightly, as is custom. We live nearby, and we will be regulars! They have take-out menus, too! read more

First of all- we're new in town, and this is the first restaurant we've been to that actually seasons their food. Ordered pickup 30 mins from close. Usually refrain from doing that, but we were sooo hungry. Holy freakin cow. A++++. Chimichangas and chiles rellanos are incredible. Homemade salsa & stellar queso. Plus everyone was wearing masks. This beautiful restaurant is a much needed addition to the area, since choices near Westmont are slim Food is standard Tex-Mex, dependable rather than standout, but it totally fits the bill when you need a nacho or enchilada fix. You won't find better in Johnstown. The owners have gone all-out to make this a welcoming place with beautiful decorations. I look forward to being able to enjoy margaritas here. Update: Currently it's carryout or delivery only, and I was extremely disappointed with my order. Definitely check your takeout before leaving! . I asked for the lunch enchiladas, with beef instead of chicken and beans instead of rice. The menu says those substitutions are always available. When I picked up the order, arriving in less than the 20 minutes I was told it would take, I confirmed the substitutions with the cashier. Yes yes, got it, the order is almost ready, he said. A couple of minutes later I was handed a bag, knotted at the top. Total disappointment when I got home 5 minutes later. Order was stone cold, rice instead of beans, and so little inside the enchiladas that it took a few minutes to see it was all chicken. The second enchilada, which was supposed to be cheese, was just a rolled tortilla without any filling I could taste. I did at least get the side order of ranchera sauce, which was good, but all in all it was a bad lunch that left me hungry. read more

Same family that owns Rey Azteca on scalp ave,I purchased a gift certificate and they closed up,sign on door said we would like to see you at Luna Azteca but they would not honor the gift certificate,they are a rip off, I will never patronize any of their places again and will tell people I know not to support them read more
