Diners enjoying food at Don Patron.
Sharon E.

Firstly, it's hard to find good Mexican in this part of the country, but everyone loved their meal at Don Patron. Collectively we had enchiladas, burritos, Rancho fries, and rice. The rice was okay. Salsa was very good. Enchilada sauce was good. Chicken was well seasoned. Nothing was over-spicy. The decor was great. We loved the suns especially the Chihully style, glass one. (No toreadors on black velvet here!) Service was excellent.

Huevos Rancheros from Don Patrons!

Me and my aunt went to Don Patrons for lunch and we absolutely loved it. The salsa they give you is absolutely delicious. Not too spicy, just the right amount of heat. I decided to order their Huevos Rancheros from their lunch section of the menu. I haven't had Huevos Rancheros before and I am not kidding, when I say, that it was so unbelievably delicious! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the yolks were nice and runny when you broke into them, the beans and rice had a great taste, and you could tell their soft tortillas are homemade and warm. I also really liked that their service was extremely fast and friendly. I would most definitely recommend don patrons to anyone I meet.

House lime margarita no salt

Stopped here for lunch after working out next door at the planet fitness, very convenient location. Lunch portions were very reasonable and the perfect size . Got roped into a margarita which was excellent, fresh pineapple and orange and a decent amount of tequila (enough to taste). Had the chicken fajita lunch portion which was enough for 2 FILLED tortillas , would have made a third of it was served with another one. Latrobe is blessed to have such a good Mexican restaurant!

Mexican restaurant in a strip mall, food was some of the best Mexican I've had! Service was fast and upbeat, beer never got empty before there was another in front of me. Will definitely eat here again when I roll through.

The vibes are amazing, service is really fast and friendly. But last time I went, the meat just tasted really peppery and was not good.

The service was excellent and the portions were large. I love the menu and the variety of dishes. They played great dance music all the time, but we were able to easily talk and enjoy our meal. It is bright, cheerful and very clean. The menu has the typical Mexican restaurant options like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and burritos and the also have a kids menu. I love their chorizo con huevo because not a lot of places have that kind of dish on their menu. It is chorizo (theirs has a great deal of flavor and isn't greasy like chorizo sometimes can be), onions, peppers and eggs. They serve it with tortillas and rice. Lots of food and packed with flavor. I have also tasted the enciladas and my husband loved the cowboy burrito. For drinks, especially during the summer they have awesome daily specials. I've tried the watermelon water and the cucumber lime. So very refreshing! Service is friendly and attentive and they are great about answering any questions that you might have about menu items. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner here and then heading next door to the creamery for delicious ice cream.

I'm a sucker for a divey authentic Mexican spot, and was really hoping this would be it. This is…read morenot it. Drinks - I started my meal with a skinny marg, which typically just means less or no simple. This marg was SO sweet, but had an off taste, almost like they used fake sugar typically used in diet sodas. I'm not usually super picky, but this drink was undrinkable. I switched it for a tap beer which was much, much better. TLDR; go beer, not cocktails. Food - I ordered the fajita burrito, which came topped in some sort of enchilada red sauce. This made the top of the burrito soggy, and I really did not care for the sauce. I started to eat the filling but woof, it was just not good. The chicken pieces were tiiiiiny and there were barely any fajita veggies. My boyfriend said his enchiladas were fine, and the rest of the table were pretty meh on their food. Note - My friend ordered the same thing as me, and said he got sick during the night (he suspects it's from the food). Service - Nice waitstaff that were attentive. No complaint here. I'd personally give the food a 1 star, but bc the service was solid and some folks at the table thought the food was (barely) passable I upped it to 2. Also, they have a tv and had the game on, which was nice, but we will not be returning.

Rather than wait for a table, we sat at the bar where we had excellent service. The mariposa was delicious and so much food that I had leftovers to take home. I got the viva sampler, and everything from the taquitos to the Mexican street corn tasted like cardboard. I took the chicken out of the taquito to see if maybe it was just the tortilla, no - it was just flavorless. The sauces it came with were the only things that were halfway decent. Then, my sister and I decided to split the flan and tres leches. Mistake numbers two and three. The flan was grainy and the tres leches has no flavor - where was the cinnamon the spices the sweetened condensed milk. Those were terrible. The mocktail was just overly sweet juice with no real thought or effort put into it. For $54 - I expect more. It's overpriced. It's flavorless. And the atmosphere was nonexistent. They're charging for nonexistent "vibes" and neon signs. Not worth it. The service was just okay. Plaza Azteca is the superior choice if given the option.
