    Three Amigos

We went for lunch on a Saturday. It's a nice space with a bar that looks like fun. We had the three amigos which was salsa, guacamole, and queso with chips. It was a great start to the meal and we enjoyed it very much. My husband and I both had tacos, and customize them. I like that you can do that. The pomegranate margarita was good but almost too sweet and the alcohol seemed very weak. I loved the Paloma cocktail, which was much better. Our server was friendly and helpful. Overall, a solid experience. We will be back and will probably sit at the bar.

There is a lot going on with this street in Irwin, there is a distillery tasting room, a brewery, a concert venue, and this Mexican restaurant. Stopped in on a snowy Saturday before Christmas to fortify for holiday shopping. I was pleasantly surprised stopping in here, somewhat dark brick establishment. The 3 Amigos appetizer was outstanding, anchored by some really good guacamole. Followed up by shrimp tacos with a sweet chili Asian twist, and a far more traditional beef barbacoa street style tacos. Just sat at the bar to grab a quick bite and a beer, but was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stop again when in the area, pretty decent Mexican fare, and far better than quite a few other places in this corner of Southwest PA.

We were there for the first time last night. Very cool, trendy vibe. Ryan was our server and he was outstanding! He took time to explain the drink menu and the food menu which we appreciated. The food was delish and the choices were many! The beverage selection was outstanding especially for the tequila drinkers put there! My margarita was great! I had the mahi grilled taco and my guy had the yinzer taco steak with fries! Three to an order which was a lot! Oh also has spicy mozzarella sticks app. It was hopping pre concert and Saturday night and food came in good time which mattered on way to a concert. Price point is excellent but Ryan (with the long hair lol) made it such a fun experience. Can't wait to go back. Parking on street or nearby lot too. Thank you.

I am a sucker for a good Mexican restaurant and Gato hit the spot. The vibes were great and the service was quick. Our waiter was very in top of it! For a drink, I got a House Lime Margarita. It was very sour which made it difficult to drink. For food, we ordered the Three Amigos appetizer, El Pollo Loco signature tacos, and a side of the Street Corn. The guacamole, salsa, and queso were absolutely fantastic. The salsa was extremely fresh and flavorful. It may have been one of my favorite salsas ever! I did add some extra lime and hot sauce to our guacamole to enhance the flavor. Our tacos were very spicy, but tasty nonetheless. The side of Street Corn had so much flavor I could eat it everyday. The whole restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. If I am ever in the area again, I will be back!

I had an incredible experience at Gato! The tacos were phenomenal - bursting with fresh flavors and perfectly seasoned. Each bite was a delight. The service was equally impressive, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and quick. Tacos are around $15 each set, but you receive 3 decent size tacos. I think they were the best local tacos I've had ever or in a long time. They were bursting with flavor. For example it's maybe the equivalent of a Primanti bros sandwich (marinated steak topped with French fries, cabbage slaw, fancy sauce and queso fresco. My wife had the Hollywood which I thought was equally delicious with Roadted chicken topped with guacamole, pico de gallo, queso Fresno, and Conita cheese. Our waitress was a young lady with dark hair. She was very nice, attentive, also one of the better waiters we had in a while. I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!

The drink was amazing and I could have had unlimited amounts of it. The tacos were also good but I wish I had the option to get 3 different ones. Cause I wanted to try multiple tacos on the menu. And I personally don't like getting multiple of the same taco.

This is a nice little taco joint in a place you might not expect to find one. It is surprisingly large inside, and if you like tequila,.they have a great selection of tequila as well. I tried the Ma-HEHe tacos. They were well made and had a great sauce on them. I highly recommend!

Average food and average service combined gives this place an average-rated review from me. The presentation of the tacos is top-notch, I'll give them that, but the chips and salsa were disappointing, and the tacos, while solid, weren't something I'd be dying to come back for again. Our server was friendly, but no one checked in with us during the meal. And while I didn't order any, some of the drinks looked interesting/tasty, so that might be worth giving Gato's a try for.

Madero Cantina Norwin also had mostly decent reviews, so I gave it a try. I sat at the very nice bar. The atmosphere is modern, not trying to look like Tijuana, with clear background music that isn't so loud that I couldn't hear people across the bar talking. What I'm going to say might sound contradictory. My earlier meal was closer to the Mexican food I was used to in Southern California. But not exceptional. As a vegetarian, I usually start with cheese enchiladas as a way to judge a Mexican restaurant. The service was excellent, and they are definitely vegetarian friendly. Unlike "genuine" Mexican food, their refried beans are vegetarian, without the traditional lard. Their Spanish rice isn't vegetarian friendly (chicken stock used) but they have a vegetarian alternative rice. When they cook for a vegetarian, they use a different grill, so your food isn't cooked in meat grease. I know this because Jake, who served me, covered it all as soon as I mentioned that I was vegetarian. When the food arrived it looked great, and it tasted great as well. If you're looking for genuine Mexican with lard in the beans, this might not be the best local option. But I really enjoyed my meal here, and recommend it highly!

So there is an old age charm about this place. Inside it is pretty modest with the bar being the main draw. But alongside the bar are a few booths, and beyond the bar they have an informal dining room as well as a game room. The lunch menu listed mostly sandwiches, but I did see a selection of wings and sauces which piqued my interest. In Pennsylvania, one can often find great wings in hole in the wall places made by small time cooks who make their own sauces. This place was no exception! I opted for 6 garlic and butter wings and 6 California gold rush wings. They charge this as 2 separate orders of 6 wings rather than a single order of 12 wings costing you about $2 more, but when the wings arrive, I doubt you will complain. Turns out, when they say wing, they mean the full wing. So each wing was really equivalent to two regular size wings. All of a sudden my 12 wings just exploded into 24 wings -- far too much food for me to eat. The garlic and butter wings were exceptionally good, among the best wings I have ever had. Fresh, rustically cut garlic generously adorned the wings. Lovely. The gold rush wings had honey mustard and hot sauce. These were pretty good, but not nearly as good as the butter garlic wings. I felt the heat was really missing from these, but the mustard had nuance which was nice. The wings themselves were definitely prepared to order and were very large. Service was really friendly, and everyone was down home. This is probably a good local drinking spot at night. Definitely recommend for the wings.

When you go to your local restaurant, they know your name. This Applebee's location was that. The hostess greeted everyone and she even knew some of their names. We were seated in Gwen's (I think that was her name) section, and she was the most friendly and cheerful person. The funny thing is that when we came back the second time, we got the same table and server. We were very fortunate! Here's what we ordered for both our visits: Quesadilla Burger * Thought this was a change from a bun and decided to try it. A little messy to eat but you can't go wrong with a burger and fries. Boneless wings * They had a special where you can get as many or as little boneless wings with a choice of flavor. I thought that was a great idea as I didn't want to load up on a lot of food. I added two sides of french fries and green beans to round out my meal. Perfect portions. Classic Bacon Cheeseburger * It doesn't get any more classic than a bacon cheeseburger on a bun with fries. Meat cooked just right. No complaints! Grilled Chicken Breast * This was supposed to be a healthier option with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I've always liked red mashed potatoes with the skin and this did not disappoint. Chicken wasn't dry but seemed too plain. I suppose adding any sauce would up the calorie count. Nothing to rave about but definitely decently prepared.

One down side is that there is a fairly large menu and it isn't always easy to find/see all of the options when you are waiting to order. My daughter saw someone got a bubble tea but at the time we were looking, that menu wasn't easy to spot so we didn't even know it was something they offered! All of their food items are made to order (well, I suppose except for the soup which is home made and just dished out to order). They even have soup flights on certain days!
