Lunch Chimichanga de Camaron, pricey but delicious, and filled with surprisingly large shrimp.
    Dustin M. R.

Meeting East Coast friends for lunch, we picked Irwin, PA as the half-way point between Toledo and Philadelphia, and Acapulco Mexican Restaurant & Bar as Yelp's highest rated Mexican restaurant in the area. Arriving a few minutes before their Sunday opening time, we were pleasantly surprised when the employee cleaning the glass on the front door smiled and waved at us to come inside. Décor in the restaurant was bright and festive, and we were quickly shown to a table across the very clean dining room. Perusing the expansive menu, our party of three ordered the Lunch #13, Lunch Fajita Burrito, and Lunch Chimichanga de Camaron with two waters and an iced tea. Before tax and tip, our bill came out to $44.50, which definitely felt pricy for lunch. However the kitchen was clearly raring to go, because our orders were soon delivered piping hot to our table! My wife and son both said their meals were very good, with my son adding that the fajita vegetables in his burrito were grilled to perfection. Likewise I found my Chimichanga de Camaron to be very good, and I was pleasantly surprised at how large and juicy the shrimp were. Pros: great atmosphere, large menu, attentive wait staff, very good flavours Cons: pricy for lunch portions, no free refills on the tortilla chips (which is always a bummer for our teens) Overall we rate Acapulco Mexican Restaurant & Bar as being Very Good, and would definitely return the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I have been to Acapulco many times. The food and service have always been very good. My husband decided he wanted to have dinner there for his birthday. The food was good and our server was excellent. When the server brought our check, our total was $64. We gave our server a $50 gift card (purchased 5 weeks ago) and $30 in cash. Shortly thereafter, the manager came to our table and told us they had changed system and he couldn't get their new system to accept our gift card. He said the system "should be"repaired in the future, but he didn't know when and we "should be" able to use our gift card then. Should be, really? That statement didn't make us feel confident that we would ever be able to use the gift card. He insisted we would have to provide a different form of payment and use the gift card another time. We told him the system problem was his issue to handle, not ours and he would have to figure it out. He kept insisting we would have to pay another way but we stood our ground. He was extremely unhappy but our check was paid in full since he had our $50 gift card along with $30 cash to cover the rest of the check and a tip for our server. How he entered the transaction in his system was his issue to deal with, not ours. If he had been reasonable and courteous, we would have likely paid with a credit card but..... **Please note the 3 star review was based on our overall experience. It would have been higher based strictly on the food and service**

I ordered the Burrito loco and that comes with cheese sauce on top and also comes with sour cream I did not get either of those the my burrito the beef was nasty also when I tried to order the street corn that is on there menu the man did not know what I was talking about and then said that they did not have it I will never order from here again

Everytime I come here the food is great! The servers and hosts are always so friendly. The food is a great price and you get big portions. They have happy hour 530-730 which is great!

Service- fast Food-rice was a bit dry - enchilada was basically meat inside a shell with sauce drizzled The chili relleno is not served how I'm used to having them-here they have very little cheese. The soft taco was definitely my favorite part of dinner. If I go back I'll order something different.

Gran experiencia! One way to accurately gauge the customer appreciation level at a restaurant, is to walk through their doors near closing time. One will immediately discover if they are truly happy to see you. Our first visit here occurred with less than 30 minutes to go before closing time. Generally, I avoid such decisions, since I expect to encounter sour faces and rushed service. Imagine my reaction when we were warmly welcomed, and greeted, with a smile. Mega points earned. We decided to take advantage of the .99 cent chicken or beef Taco Tuesday special. Both were flavorful and filling. Sides dishes of rice and beans were full portions. Due to time constraints, I did not read through the full menu, and cannot comment on such. However, a return visit is already planned based on the friendliness of the staff, and the tasteful first meal we had at Acapulco.

Madero Cantina Norwin also had mostly decent reviews, so I gave it a try. I sat at the very nice bar. The atmosphere is modern, not trying to look like Tijuana, with clear background music that isn't so loud that I couldn't hear people across the bar talking. What I'm going to say might sound contradictory. My earlier meal was closer to the Mexican food I was used to in Southern California. But not exceptional. As a vegetarian, I usually start with cheese enchiladas as a way to judge a Mexican restaurant. The service was excellent, and they are definitely vegetarian friendly. Unlike "genuine" Mexican food, their refried beans are vegetarian, without the traditional lard. Their Spanish rice isn't vegetarian friendly (chicken stock used) but they have a vegetarian alternative rice. When they cook for a vegetarian, they use a different grill, so your food isn't cooked in meat grease. I know this because Jake, who served me, covered it all as soon as I mentioned that I was vegetarian. When the food arrived it looked great, and it tasted great as well. If you're looking for genuine Mexican with lard in the beans, this might not be the best local option. But I really enjoyed my meal here, and recommend it highly!

I was surprised to see so many vegetarian options. I came to the restaurant to order from the vegetarian selections. I ordered a black bean burrito. It wasn't on posted menu but I saw it online and it was in their register system. I also ordered a cheesy bean and rice burrito off their $1 and substituted the refried bean for black beans. Lastly, I ordered the 2-pack of the Cinnabon treats. I was very pleased with the taste. The burritos were filling but I don't feel like I was stuffed. I used the hot sauce and it had a little kick. The Cinnabon balls had what seemed to be icing in the center and cinnamon and sugar on the outside. They were hot and really good. The cashier was patient with me because I took a while to order since I hadn't been there in so long. I was able to use Samsung Pay successfully. Overall, I was very pleased. I like to eat vegetarian when possible and it's really hard to find a lot of stuff when you have to stop for fast food. Taco Bell impressed me and I'll be back.
