I highly recommend Rewind if you are looking for a chill more relaxed experience. I have been on the hunt for a good hot dog and they brought it for sure!!! All the toppings are perfect to add on as you will and their fries were crisp to perfection. The bartender Rodney was absolutely a delight. He was very knowledgeable and had so much carisma! This was my first time at Rewind and I was overall impressed with the food. I ordered the chicken waffles and they came out superb. This was my first time ever trying chicken waffles and they definitely made me want to try it again. They ordered in our food at good timing and our food arrived at perfect time. Nice to come here before going out in DuPont. My friends and I made a reservation online and were seated right away. Our server Markeeta was so sweet and helpful :) made our day. She helped us select what we wanted from the menu and told us about all the drinks. Not only was service great, but food was also delicious and served quickly. We all ordered the guava margaritas which were really good, tasted like they were made with guava nectar. The loaded tots were rich and addicting. The three of us couldn't even finish all of the large serving. The chicken tenders came with a bunch of fries too. I tried my friends Philly cheesesteak which was flavorful. False advertising!! I ordered an Impossible Burger through door dash, double checked the website to make sure they actually had it, and waited for my order to arrive. Door dash was great, arrived timely, etc. but you can probably imagine my disappointment when what actually arrived was what appeared to be a basic morning star farms type veggie patty- NOT an Impossible Burger. Now you're probably thinking who cares, right? No. No. No. There's a reason this burger is $15, and why it's so hard to find at so many places. Did they really think no one would notice when they subbed out a $4 burger king veggie patty full of carrots and veggies? If they were out of stock, they should have pulled it off the menu, not tried to fraudulently charge more for a different burger. Ok guys, I think I figured this one out. You head in here after brunch, provided you have been good all weekend and were very productive, and then you start on the bottom floor and enjoy the retro decor, ambiance, and modern fancy schmancy jukebox while sipping on some stiff if overpriced drinks. Get a moderate buzz going, finish up, and head upstairs for a pretty good day party. This is where the moderate or greater buzz beforehand becomes very important. On the top floor, what began as a hangout meant for food on the bottom floor restaurant which quickly devolved into day drinking, quickly turned into an order of two quarter shots of Hennesey costing like 36$ at the club. No lie. Quarter shots. Of Henny. I just cannot justify that, especially in DC. Now, if you are smart in using your Groupon on the first floor and can control yourself, then head up to the top floor afterwards (and are already good to go), then you're going to be in fot a good time. Went here for the Sakura pop up bar. It was decorated beautifully. The chill hop music was perfect for the ambiance with soft colored lighting. The drinks were good and I had strawberry and matcha mochi ice cream. It was the best mochi ice cream I have had in a while. I'm looking forward to other pop ups by this location. read more

Went for the Cherry Blossom Pop Up event at Rewind a few weeks back. It was my first time trying Rewind and had fairly low expectations. Normally, pop ups focus more on than decor and decorations than the food, but at Rewind, I was pleasantly surprised! We had a plethora of food - trying most of the menu, and everything was a hit! The only reason I'm not giving 1-Star is because the food and drinks were alright, however pretty overpriced. $17 for a cocktail. We arrived about 15 minutes late to our reservation, (We understand that was entirely our own fault, and completely on us) however we had called beforehand to let the Host know we were going to be 10-15 minutes late and he had told us it was okay. Upon arrival, the Host got in my face and scolded me for being late. I apologized for being late and he told me that my friends and I had 45 minutes to dine and we had to be out the door for his next seating. He also made sure to stare us down from behind the Host booth the entire time we were there. Looking back, I would've preferred to be turned away rather than be treated so unwelcomed. They have a $5 fee per person for their Sakura menu (doesn't go towards the bill, just for reservation). The decor was GORGEOUS, with photo OPs on just about every corner. The only part that was disappointing is that since you pay $5 per person for the reservation I assumed I would get the whole experience with the decor inside, but we were sat outside. Rewind is a funky spot with a rare blend of diner, nightclub, and neighborhood hangout. But what makes it my new must-go when I am in DC is the staff. They understand what hospitality means. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. And they have as good a dessert and milkshake menu as you could ask for. We were seated promptly but no one came to take out order EVER - after 25 mins, we left. 2) I saw one waiter and the bartender serving as the waiter. Service was slow and customers were getting antsy. This review is for SAKURA: We recently visited Sakura Cherry Blossom pop up bar at Rewind DC and it was really nice. We arrived around 10 minutes early and had to wait in the lobby until 830 for our 815 reservation but that was fine. The bar is pretty tight so we got a small table along the bar area the service was just OK but the drinks and food made up for where the service that. We had the brussels sprouts, chicken wings, dumplings, and order their cocktails. Everything on the menu was Japanese inspired so I ordered the Tamagotchi And it was well-made and delicious. My homegirl order the lychee old-fashioned and raved about it and my husband had the cherry blossom and while it was sweet he said it was bomb. The brussels sprouts were also very flavorful and the wings were well seasoned and delicious. The service was slow however the manager came to check on us a few times to make sure we were OK. The music could've been louder to give it more of a "loungey"vibe but that's a matter of preference. I wish I could Rewind and not ordered from here. Saturday was my birthday so my girls and I went to Decades because its usually a fun vibe. Of course we wanted to be responsible and eat beforehand. I had been craving a burger, and thought to myself "that should be easy," I was WRONG. It took so long for our food to come out, only for the burger I requested Medium to not only be well done, but also BURNT. I shined a light on it to see whether I could salvage some of the burger but couldn't. I sent it back and ordered a quesadilla...and it tasted like someone dumped salt in it. Not to mention the chicken in that was also burnt and it took over 30 minutes for me to get it. I would not order food from here again unless its wings. This has to be the dumbest concept I ever heard of. Where do these people think this is? Vegas? Soho? Ibiza? It's a diner -- with a cool but expensive menu -- that isn't open for breakfast or lunch??? Good luck with that. Landlord should be lining up new tenants immediately so when these guys close the next tenant is ready. As a resident of Dupont Circle, I'm offended to have a prime storefront wasted for most of the day. At least maybe rent the space out during the rest of the day to a pop up breakfast or lunch spot. What a waste of prime real estate. Also of note: this place is such a shitshow of poor management, both the website (which is only a few weeks old!) and the Yelp! page say they open at 11 AM. They don't. They open at 4 PM six days a week! I think the hours are 4 PM - 4 AM or something bizarre like that. Also their Health Score listed on Yelp! is 64. I just noticed this -- this seems like a very low score (out of 100). I checked 3 other bar/restaurants I know which to be honest seem much dirtier at least on the outside, and their scores were all 80's and 90's. read more

Buffalo chicken sandwich: 5 stars (would love a ranch option though as I hate bleu cheese) Curly fries: 5 stars Pigs in a blanket: 4.5 stars (the menu says the come with everything seasoning; in my experience that has not been the case. But the Dijon sauce makes up for it!) Cheesesteak: 5 stars Chicken and waffles: 5 stars The food is so good!! The first part of the experience was terrible!!! When myself and my guest arrived we were told our only option was to sit outside. We were 30 mins early to our reservation and we asked if we could wait for a table inside to be available and the manager told us we didn't have the option to sit inside just because. No real explanation given. 10 minutes after us a white couple arrives and are our outside next to us and they went back inside because they were not happy with the outside seating either. The WHITE couple was immediately sat to a table inside when they asked. The same manager who told us we could not sit inside told the white couple they had an option. My first time experience racism in an establishment and I will NEVER be going back there AGAIN. When we asked why were Weren't seated inside the manger looked stupid trying to come up with an excuse as to why were not able to sit inside. They had the Sarkua pop up restaurant here today. The cherry blossom decor is absolutely beautiful!! Such a laid back vibe to this place. Indoor and outdoor seating available., staff was pleasant and attentive. For drinks we ordered a cherry blossom and a Japanese old fashion. The old fashion was good. Didn't have that hard bite that the traditional one has. The cherry blossom was beautiful to look at but didn't taste of any alcohol at all. So I guess that's a good one if you aren't really a drinker. The food as amazing from beginning to end! Teriyaki wings had a perfect glaze and crisp to them. Brussels sprouts were cooked tender and not overly sauced. For the entree we ordered a juicy Lucy and the fancy cheesesteak. It's hard to go wrong with Black truffle cheese on anything. This cheesesteak was one of the best I've had! My husband enjoyed his burger so much he ordered one to go! Great spot to visit. It was well worth the drive from Baltimore. read more

Popped in after dancing the night away across the street at the 18th Street Lounge. After dancing, we were tipsy and hungry and were looking for some food. Shake shack being closed, we jumped into Rewind. We were seated and shortly there after given menus. Fast forward ten minutes and we are informed that basically half of the menu is unavailable. So we all order our third or fourth choice thing and then wait for ages for it. The food that they did have was "OK", the wait was long, and overall, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. read more
