Came on a Sunday. There is a garage right at the corner of this location. About $22 for all day (or $20 up to 2 hours). It is Best to have a reservation, as this establishment is very small inside. We DID NOT have a reservation, but thankfully a table was just about to leave. We waited about 10 mins, no big deal at all! To be honest- STEVE the Hookah Guy saved the whole experience for us! He was friendly, personable, and anything we needed- he got! We decided to do the $50 per person unlimited drinks (a pitcher of any - Red sangria, mimosas or peach bellini) and an entree I got the Crispy Chicken Breast Sandwhich. I opted to have the eggs & homefries on the side. This sandwhich was very dry. Steve got me hot sauce and extra mixxed sauce, which made it better. Guest had the Chicken & Waffles. Celebrating Black History Month by supporting Black owned businesses! Join me! In my quest to support Black excellence, I found the dopest bar in Adams Morgan! It's: Black owned Black woman owned A fellow New Yorker making a dream come through in D.C. Shoutout to Josh, he gave us the rich history of this place starting with the origins of the juice bar in NY. Alina, the owner, was not present but we were excited to learn the purpose behind this spot and how she is serving authentic style NYC classics (loading later). She is also committed to providing fresh and healthy food to the community and it was evident in the juice selections on the menu and fresh ingredients in the food. When you walk in the place, the artwork made you salute! lol if you're from NYC, you understand that we take pride in seeing our monuments and popular spots in graffiti style art. This place was surrounded by it and beautifully exposed bricks! Loved the decor. It's 3 levels, 1 is opened on the weekdays and all of them open on the weekends. We sat in the middle level by the bar but there were table seatings to support dining needs. The DJ arrived later but we had to run out after our early happy hour drinks. Drinks: we had the classic margarita, served on the Happy Hour menu and it was fire! Topped it with salt on the rim, I immediately enjoyed 2 rounds. Next, I ordered the NY chopped cheese and fried Oreos to go. So, I know folks won't normally honor the beauty of the chopped cheese outside of NYC, but as someone who greatly loves the city that raised her, this chopped cheese was real deal! It was PERFECT! Started in Harlem and rapidly moved throughout the other NYC boroughs, this sandwich is basically a well seasoned beef patty placed on the grill top with the cheese chopped into it. Some places in NY would also chop up peppers and onions and add ketchup and mayo (based on customers preference). Mixxed however, stayed true to the recipe by perfectly seasoning their patties, adding 2 types of cheese (American and Cheddar) placing it on a buttery soft footlong bun and adding fresh lettuce, tomato, and the most delicious sauce throughout it. This sandwich spoke to my heart and knowing that I do not have to wait for my visit to NY to grab one, is magical! Next, their deep fried Oreos comes with a chocolate sauce on the side and it is to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to Mixxed DC for Saturday brunch with a party of six, and overall it was a great experience. First off, love that it's Black-owned and has a dope graffiti-style vibe inside. I was originally supposed to go in August, and they were super accommodating with rescheduling. We were seated right away and opted for the unlimited mimosa special ($50), which includes one entrée. Just a heads up: everyone at your table has to participate in the special to get it, which was a little frustrating since one of us doesn't drink. Thankfully, they made an exception and let him do unlimited mocktails so we could all still enjoy the deal. Since we had six people, they gave us three pitchers, and those mimosas were hittin! Highly recommend trying the peach flavor. We definitely left brunch very tipsy lol. For food, I had the Biscoff pancakes, which were rich and tasty--7/10. Only thing I'd change is how the cookie butter was only on the top pancake; I would've loved it layered throughout. They came with fresh fruit and I added a side of scrambled eggs. I also got to try the shrimp and grits which was definitely a standout! 9/10. So flavorful! We added a hookah to our experience (separate from food, around $40), and it was a fun touch. The DJ came in during the middle of our brunch and turned it up with 90s/2000s rap and R&B, had the whole place vibing. Service was great, staff was friendly and helpful the whole time. Well what can I say.. I went to this spot 2 times in one day. Service is friendly. They have mastered the simple yet delicate chili cheese dog. There are two levels to this place -- and a little birdie told me that they do karaoke on Fridays, so I had to see for myself. I later learned that it happens on the basement floor. When I showed up about a half hour before karaoke was supposed to start, I was surprised by how quiet it was. My friend and I were the only ones there. There were plenty of TVs, and the place had quite the vibey setting. My friend and I got sandwiches -- I got the hot honey chicken one, and I really enjoyed it! Before long the karaoke DJ came in, and for a while it was just a few guys. Even the bartender said that for a Friday night, it was oddly quiet. Within a few hours, it was actually packed to the door -- but it took a few hours, strangely! On the bright side, I got to sing a LOT. Mixxed is such a fun spot in the DMV. Located on the strip that contains a number of great restaurants and shopping spots, Mixxed can be missed but shouldn't be. Our service was great. When we arrived it was mid day and very hot. Nevertheless our server was attentive and fun. I loved the games that customers can grab and play while they are waiting. They had a bottomless brunch that day but due to the heat we picked a much lighter fare of salad, smoothie and avocado toast. I went here for Halloween with my 14 and 5 year old. It was perfect because we sat in the restaurant portion, but had a lounge bar vibe complete with a very delicious mocktail drink for me (orange crush) and strawberry lemonade for the kids. The music was very night club live DJ vibes loud, but it was so much fun! The menu items looked great, so we will come back again to taste. I was so grateful to the server for allowing us to be in that space because I was not sure if I could even be in there with my kids. I came to Mixxed Social Lounge to celebrate PRIDE, but left feeling disrespected. Due to a medical condition, I have a soft voice, so I showed my drink order on my phone to avoid shouting over the loud music. The male bartender got annoyed, told me to "speak to me," then walked away before I could respond. He ignored me multiple times and even told his coworker, who also chose not to assist me--despite helping another customer using their phone. No one should be discriminated against for how they communicate, especially in a place meant to be inclusive. If you're serving the public, you should be able to accommodate all patrons, not ignore them. Overall a lovely spot to hang out after work, to get dinner, do karaoke, or even brunch on the weekends. They play music and have games if you want to play at your table. My cousin and I went on a Friday and didn't realize they do karaoke Fridays so that was a pleasant surprise. It is a black- woman owned spot so that makes it even better! It was like what you'd get from the bodega but with a restaurant price tag instead. The fries (sold separately) were hot and crispy. The margarita was like a watered down club drink that you'd get in any NY club so that was also authentic. I'm visiting this place at 1 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. The ambiance on the main level gives lounge vibes. Loud (not annoyingly loud) music plays a presorted dj mix complete with a little scratching and mixing. The interior mixes graffiti and an almost tacky over abundance of fake flowers and plants. If they had thrown one or two real ones in here by the window I wouldn't be hating so hard. I hadn't been to Adams's Morgan since my college days (I'm in my 30's), but after hearing so many great things about this place, I had to check it out. We went on a Friday because my sister loves Karaoke. We had a great time singing and dancing. The MC's were awesome. They kept us entertained all night long. They played great music, music from early - mid 2000's, the kind you can't help but dance too, even if you're an older millennial. They were funny and interacted with the crowd in an entertaining way. The smash burger and wings are delicious. The bartending was there alone but kept up with a really busy bar that night. The frozen marg I had was a little watery and couldn't taste much alcohol, but the mix could have just been sitting for a while-it happens. I went to Mixxed DC for brunch on Sunday January 14th. Mixxed restaurant is two months old, it opened back in November of 2023, restaurant is black-owned as well as woman owned. The restaurant is in the historic Adams Morgan vibrant location. Upon, entering the restaurant you have to go upstairs to the restaurant from outside, and the restaurant door will be to your left. I didn't see an accessible way for someone that can't take the stairs to the restaurant. The restaurant is small, love the ambiance of place especially the restrooms that were clean. Saturdays and Sundays live DJ spinning. I ordered a smash burger that had only American cheese on it & ketchup, along with fries. My friend also ordered a smash burger as well along with mozzarella sticks. I would definitely come back to visit. read more

I realized with this visit that some brunch vibes are no longer for me. My college daughter and I wanted brunch, found this spot on social media and decided to try it out. It is likely great for those looking for a party atmosphere and loud music that causes you to yell across the table to be heard. Aesthetically, it's cute with all the popular decor for pics. The server/bartender was very nice. Our food didn't take long to arrive but it was definitely lukewarm at best. Unfortunate, because the flavors were good! My expresso martini looked heavy on the baileys but tasted delicious. The star of our meal was the beef patty bacon egg and cheese. It's hard to truly enjoy shrimp and grits that aren't hot but sending it back wasn't an option due to having to sit through the loud music and fans flapping from the party seated next to us. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was too disappointing to ignore. We came here for my best friend's birthday brunch. From the moment we walked in, the service was lackluster and disorganized. We waited nearly 45 minutes just to be acknowledged, and even longer to get our drinks. Our server seemed uninterested, barely checked on us, and we constantly had to flag someone down for basic things like silverware or refills. And the music was so loud, we had to shout to even hear each other!! The food took an unreasonably long time to arrive and when it finally did, it was not worth the wait. Everything came out lukewarm, poorly seasoned, and frankly, tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. What should've been a simple, enjoyable meal turned into a frustrating, drawn-out evening. We arrived at 3:30... no reason why we didn't leave until 6:15. We had plans after that were ruined because of this. Definitely would not recommend and won't be returning. I don't usually go restaurant reviews and I was so excited to come here for my graduation dinner and everything about the experience was bad. Most of us did not enjoy our food, two people's drinks were really poorly made and my drink never even came. I had a party of 9. About 5 of us arrived first and as we waited, one of my friends asked for a sprite. 10 minutes pass, the rest of our party arrives and my friend still doesn't have her sprite so she asks again. Another 10 minutes pass and she gets up to go to the bar to ask for the sprite again and stands there for 5 minutes as they said that they had to go down to the basement to get a sprite (they instead came back with a Starry but whatever). We waited another 10 minutes and employees kept walking passed our table completely ignoring us not even looking in our direction. I finally asked who our server was going to be since we had just been pulling random employees to ask for water and the sprite and they said there was just the 1 woman waiting on that floor and serving as bartender. So we waited. One person got the rum punch and had to send it back because it tasted like coffee for some reason. They remade it and it still tasted disgusting. Another person got an espresso martini and it tasted like it was just a cup of kahlua, no espresso, no vodka. And my "get mixxy" drink just never arrived. One person got a quesadilla that was dripping in oil and tasted gross which she sent back after 1 bite. The shrimp in the poboy was overfried. The only person who enjoyed their meal got a basic rum and redbull and beef nachos. Anyone who attempted to get any of their signature meals or drinks was left frustrated. I'm generally not one to ask for things to get comped (as we had to for the rum punch, the quesadilla, and the missing drink) or to write bad reviews, but this was a truly disappointing experience. While I truly hope this was just an off night for them, I think it's important for people to know what they're getting into and I personally will never return here again. read more

It is a cozy space with a bar and eating area, two restrooms (gender neutral) but there is an upstairs event space and a downstairs space as well I was told. Minority owned which is a big plus for me! They'll be adding in minority and women owned spirits as well, so I'll be looking forward to that! Brunch was pretty daggone good! We tried the shrimp and grits, and the chicken & waffles with fruit, as well as the French toast. The French toast was the best in our opinion. Perfectly cooked, no soggy bits, and only left me wanting more! The shrimp and grits were good, but could have been seasoned more. The creole sauce and the shrimp on the grits were delish and perfectly prepared. We also had sangria, mimosas, and Bellini's all included in their $45 bottomless brunch menu. I'll definitely be back!
