We visited Reverence for New Year's Eve and they were surprisingly pretty empty. The decor is nice, it gives "upscale" vibes. The drinks were really good. My Old Fashioned was made perfectly. The food was less desirable. The fries were fine, but my burger had no flavor. My wife thought her salmon was fine, but the risotto was lacking flavor. It also seemed that the service we received was beneath that of other tables. Reverence was so incredible!! We loved this as a fun winter date night spot in Midtown. The food was so good!! We were able to try lots of different dishes. I think the Lobster Squid Ink Tagliatelle and Chai Espresso martini were my favorite!! This restaurant is located on the bottom floor of the Epicurean hotel. We liked Reverence OK, but the experience was a little underwhelming. You never know what you're going to get with hotel restaurants. In my experience, they've been a mixed bag: https://bit.ly/3j7lC0b. Generally, the restaurants are nice and service is fine. It's the food that's hit or miss. The food at Reverence wasn't bad. However, it's not one of the first restaurants I'd recommend. That's a shame because this is one of those places that "I really wanted to like" after reading and seeing social media posts about it. The restaurant is certainly suitable if you're staying at the hotel, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to dine here. Reverence opened in September 2021 in the relatively-new Epicurean Hotel on West Peachtree Street in Midtown. During our visit, complimentary valet parking was available in front of the hotel for restaurant guests. If you valet, remember to bring cash to tip. When we visited, there was only one valet guy and, as a result, valet service was slow. You can also park in the pay deck next door at 1105 West Peachtree -- same driveway. The cost was $3 per 30 minutes. Reverence did not validate parking in this deck. Reverence piqued my curiosity because it's the signature restaurant of the Epicurean. The Epicurean is a first-of-its-kind hotel for Atlanta, I believe. A quick Google search revealed only one other Epicurean location: Tampa. These are "food-focused" and "culinary-inspired" hotels that are part of Marriott's independent and upscale Autograph Collection. As someone who loves to dine out, I like the concept. The restaurant, kitchen, bar, lounge, and patio are integrated into the hotel lobby. It's so seamless that we thought the hotel check-in counter, which is at the end of the bar and in front of the kitchen, was where we were supposed to check in for the restaurant. When the hotel employee realized we were trying to check in for the restaurant and not the hotel, he said, "Story of my life." I booked our reservations on OpenTable. The space is absolutely beautiful. Five stars for interior design and aesthetics. It's definitely got a modern, swanky, and sophisticated vibe. Big, tall windows that look out onto West Peachtree, glossy floors, pendant lighting, an open display kitchen and sleek wraparound bar, see-through wine coolers with a library ladder (neat), and classy button sofas in the lounge. This place looks straight out of a magazine. The restaurant serves New American cuisine. At the time of writing this review, they're open for breakfast daily, dinner Monday-Saturday, and Sunday for brunch. Instead, it was a bit on the tough and chewy side, as far as hamburger patties go. Disappointing. Other than that, I didn't have a problem with anything else. I did like the refried 'nduja (spicy Italian pork sausage) which was spread on the top bun and the tomato chutney. Nice, unique touches. The apps - Bacon-Wrapped Ricotta Dates and Loaded City Fries - were the best dishes. The fries were decadent and gratifying. The salads were perfectly fine. I preferred the Caprese. The burrata was yummy and the tomatoes were fresh and ripe. I wouldn't describe the Caesar as "Epic," but it was decent. I looked forward to trying the Tartine, but it sort of fell flat for me. It was good, but I was expecting more. The pancetta was a little too tough, and something seemed to be missing from the flavors overall. Service was good. Our server was Mimi. She was polite and attentive, as was everyone else we interacted with including the manager, an assistant, a chef/food runner, and the hotel check-in staff. And then...it fell off our radar. Thus, I was excited when a colleague suggested that we take our work team for a mid-week dinner. It would be good to revisit the restaurant! The outcome = Above-average menu sabotaged by sluggish, poorly trained service. The ambiance was great, and the food--like the Asian-spiced short ribs--was delicious, but the service was chaotic. Missing drinks, long waits, and disorganized staff dampened the experience. Management needs to prioritize training for the caliber this restaurant aims to achieve. I probably would not be back unless I had a friend in town staying in the area and it was convenient for both of us. One thing I did like is that valet was validated for dining in the restaurant. Before I dive in, and to be fair, they did have a private event so maybe this took away from the menu and service. Here we go...The octopus was very tough, scallops had a strong fishy/clammy taste (sent it back), the bang bang shrimp was over breaded/cold and the olives were just ok. We enjoyed their fixed meal, but I highly recommend trying the Reverence Fries. Mika was exceptional. As someone who works in the industry, I was impressed by how efficiently he managed all his tables. He was kind to everyone and maintained a constant smile. Enjoyed the Thanksgiving pre-fixe menu - three course meal with a cold Classic City lager. Went to their website to make a reservation and the link took me back to Yelp. Received a text message to confirm. Our server was attentive and apologized that he didn't know the entire menu - found out the menu 30 minutes before they opened, no biggie. Had a wonderful dinner at Reverence located at the Epicurean Hotel. Food and Service: The food was amazing!! Must tries are the steak frites and the foie gras. We also enjoyed the duck dumplings. The wine list is extensive. I love the wine wall they have. Blake, our server was so knowledgeable, polite and knows the menu well. He also suggested the perfect bottle for our meal. If you love a good Syrah and French wine, definitely select the Chateauneuf Du Pape Clos Du Roi. This resto is fit for foodies. The menu can be seasonal so be ready for that. A note to the chef: the steak is delicious! The sauces you served to accompany it are not needed. Trust me. It was that good. Parking: self parking is available. Ambiance was on point. Located inside the Epicurean hotel, this low-key restaurant sets the stage for an evening of romance. I was pleasantly surprised when the hostess was able to pronounce my name correctly, which is an amazing feat. It wasn't busy for a Saturday night but I was good with that because I dislike dining in loud places. Our server was very delightful and answered all our questions about drink suggestions and items on the menu. We had the karaage fried chicken which was bougie chicken nuggets. It came with pickled kimchee, an aioli, and a citrus chermoula. They were good and flavorful. The main entree was the ricotta truffle agnolotti with shrimp. It was similar to ravioli and it was topped with corn and pea sauce. It was very light and my drink was a fancy margarita made with tequila, pineapple, and jalapeño. The ambiance was quite pleasant since my daughter and I sat beside the window for our dinner Saturday evening. I was a little disappointed in my sangria cocktail since it was more perfumed than fruit flavored for my taste. We were both impressed with the Campanella pasta which we shared the dish. I was pleasantly surprised the kitchen offered a free appetizer since they did not have the item I selected from the special menu options. Our waiter was attentive and professional. My daughter and I enjoyed our dessert selections. This restaurant is located in the Epicurean hotel in Midtown. It's so convenient to be able to roll out of bed and grab breakfast so that's exactly what we did. They have a typical breakfast fare for the most part but no pancakes! I ordered a vanilla latte. I noticed that it tasted like it didn't have any vanilla in it so when I asked for more, the waitress admitted, they had just run out. So that was disappointing. I also ordered one of their healthy smoothies, which tasted pretty good, but was very small for the price. My daughter got a chocolate croissant that was really good and their scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. I also really liked the chicken sausage. Her açai bowl was a little on the warm side., but the fruit was fresh. Overall, the food was pretty solid, but not cheap. It's also awkwardly right near the check in. My family and I decided to do something different this year and eat out instead of home. I was skeptical about Reverence because the menu seemed a bit skimpy in terms of selection, especially for the price but we decided to give them a try. We had 430 reservations but arrived at 4. The setting and ambiance was beautiful. The hostess greeted us with a smile and sat us right away. Our server was Bethany and she was great. She asked if wanted still or sparkling waters, and we let her know we were okay with tap. We were not aware until later that soda coffee or tea were part of the buffet. She did let us know we could partake of the buffet when we were ready. Our evening sort of went downhill from there. The buffet options really left something to be desired. They had a carving station, which was the turkey. The side options were cauliflower stuffing, a roasted mixed vegetable, cornbread dressing, mashed sage sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turkey pot pie, pumpkin coconut soup, various rolls, kale salad, string bean salad and for dessert, mini macaroons, mini pecan tarts, and what might have been a key lime tart. The presentation of everything was beautiful, however the flavor was not there for anything and the pot pies were cold. This experience was so disappointing and extremely overpriced. Reverence is located in the Epicurean hotel in Atlanta...a hotel centered around fine dining. There flagship restaurant at this location is Reverence, a local/farm-to-table concept. The space is impressive and modern/chic. The full bar occupies one side of the. main dining room, and is a great place to have a drink. They have a full bar and mocktail options. The menu leans toward local options, though they have a fairly well-balanced selection of specialties, such as fresh oysters. The menu looked very promising, however when we arrived our server told us they were out of...a lot. I would say about 30% of the menu was unavailable, and it was most of what I was interested in. While deliveries can be delayed, which is what they said the issue was, it would have been great to have a restaurant that is trying so hard to be fine dining notify customers of such a drastic limitation in their menu. Our server was pleasant, but wasn't what I'd expect at a restaurant striving for fine dining status. He didn't have answers to a few questions about the menu, was gone for long periods of time, and generally seemed to be bumbling around a bit. I ordered some oysters, which were described as "uni : white soy : ponzu : caviar (R.S.), which I can only assume is (Royal Sturgeon). Sounded good, however when the oysters arrived, they appeared to have trout roe, not royal sturgeon, and there was no uni anywhere to be found. I asked the server, and he seemed to fumble around and apologize, and started to walk away. I actually had to directly as if he'd bring the uni they forgot, at which point he seemed surprised. He brought me "uni" which appeared to be a thick aoli that did not resemble uni in any way. A lovely sounding oyster presentation that feel flat, and rolled off the cliff. The rest of the dinner was just OK; not great, not bad, but not "epicurean" by any standards. The manager came over to see how we were doing, and I explained the issues we had. She did apologize, and at the end of the meal brought us two deserts. This was a nice thank you/apologies, however we thought it a bit odd that we didn't' at least get to pick what we wanted for desert. They were very good, but not what we'd have chosen. Would not come again. I suggest you do not either. We were one of maybe 4 tables in the entire restaurant at 8 pm on Sunday night. That said, there was NO excuse for most of the food to come out lukewarm. The server was nice, though! Peking duck dumplings - tasted NOTHING like duck... more like raw pork, and I generally do like raw meat... there were few scant pieces of duck breast with fat that was completely un-rendered and no crispy skin like you would find on normal Peking Duck... sickening. Mushroom appetizer... ok? Nothing really notable. Chicharrones Surf and Turf: Pricey for 3 small pieces. I would have been annoyed if I was actually hungry. What IS annoying is if you are familiar with crispy pork belly or chicharrones... the skin should be crispy. Instead, it was cold and rubbery. I'm also fairly certain the menu said there was uni, and there wasn't. They just put some ikura on top... that's... just false advertising. Would have never ordered it had I known. Server should have mentioned that and did not. Roasted Vegetables: salty. The massive amount of seeds in the eggplant was slightly off-putting but at this point, no surprise there. Surf and Turf with Halibut: The ONLY dish that came out hot. The fries were huge and came with 4 homemade dipping sauces. Beware that there are bones scattered thought the halibut steak. Way overpriced. Food was ok. Mini biscuits and butter were good (the best thing tonight). One of the beef duos was way too salty, potatoes too salty, didn't like the steak sauce even though it was house made. There is a lobster beet salad that was light on the beets but great on lobster portion. BUT I had a stomach ache when I got home and I suspect it may have been the lobster. (I took a Pepcid and felt better.) The tomahawk was the daily special and while it was good, it was way too expensive. This is not NYC but it was priced like it. Also, they did not prep the green beans so the stringy end stem parts were still on them. They had some interesting flavor combinations (shows creativity) but not enough vegetables on the menu. Like when you eat steak, you want something lighter to go with it. There aren't sides, you have to get something from the small or medium plate menu. The small plates are not shareable like true small plates or tapas. The medium plates are not like a light meal. They are literally sides priced like entrees. Oh yeah, they have these very high high-top tables but the chairs are plushy. Not negative, just different. I added a star because (I think the exec chef?) went around all the tables asking how things were, and he came around as we were leaving to thank us for coming. And the place was very clean and I did not fear about getting COVID. I can't say the same for many places in Atlanta. Plus, the location in Midtown is great. Anyway, thank you for that. I think as it is, this place is a solid 3. It will get better once they work the kinks out. Excellent ambiance. Staff is nice and still trying to get good. We recently visited Reverence as a large group on a Saturday evening and were shocked just how empty the restaurant was during prime time. The menu really just isn't compatible with Atlanta's pallet - everything is very chefs tasting style. Almost every person in our group ordered the beef filet as it was the only "normal" item on the menu. I tried to bring friends/family back twice on a Sunday, but it was unfortunately closed. While out on the last Friday of 2022 I remembered and immediately suggested to my mother that we go and have Old Fashions and cheesecake. We were told the cheesecake was no longer on the menu and I immediately ordered an Old Fashion while looking for another dessert. The immaculate presentation I was so excited about and had waited so long to share was nowhere in sight. I received a poorly made old fashion, consisting of two sips (maximum), with a huge block of ice that was basically the entire drink, with a slab of an orange peel on the side. I was so disappointed I didn't even bother with dessert. Our server clearly had a distaste for the restaurant and was sure to let us know all of the shortcomings both in the kitchen and with management. I found the comments to be a bit bizarre but thought maybe he's trying his hand at stand-up. But then, things got mean. I really didn't speak much to our server, but at one point during dinner, he told me I had an Adam's apple the size of a Rubik's Cube. I'm female. There is nothing protruding from my neck. It was highly uncalled for. Aside from the crude comments of our waiter, the food was mediocre at best. The small plates were tiny and hard to share even though we ordered double of each one. It's a hotel restaurant with a chef WAY more talented than the palette he's been given. The Epicurean is meant to celebrate food and Reverence is supposed to be one of its showcases. What he gets is a glammed up bar/lounge whose environmental A.D.D. distracts from some of the most amazing, nuanced, and well-executed food you will find in Atlanta today. We went for the whole nine yards including each having dishes from the small, medium, and large plates respectively plus desert. Every single course was not only exceptionally well executed - including the best Swordfish Steak I have ever had - but dishes like the Moroccan Duck Meatballs and Lamb Tataki with Mustard-Infused Granola are mind blowing in the best way possible. The servers are a part of the experience by explaining not just what you're about to eat and how to best experience it (i.e. the deconstructed shortbread cheesecake). At first it sounds hokey and a little annoying but the more you engage with them, the better your experience is. Our server - Justin - was an encyclopedia of the chef's thinking and helped with some amazing suggestions. They also double as bartenders so do ask for THEIR choice of a mocktail or cocktail because you will surprised and delighted. Now let's talk about the only reason I hold back on a better rating - the atmosphere. And look, It's not a bad place to hang out. In fact, the space is rather exceptional on its own. Beautifully done and with windows that showcase the energy and brilliance of a revitalized West Peachtree, The multitude of TVs and literal mash up as a hotel common area trends to majorly distract. We got seated at the table nearest the kitchen door so we probably should have spoken up but even if we were at the best table it would have been distracting. My hope is that the team behind the restaurant sees this and takes the feedback to heart because I'd really love to love this restaurant. It's even pretty decently priced. Our experience is based solely on our drinks and dessert. The moment we walked in we were greeted very warmly by Arthur. When we told him It was our first time there, he patiently explained what all three of their restaurants/bars were like and what they offered. He encouraged us to walk to all three so we could explore and figure out which would be best for us this night. Excellent customer service. Once we sat at the bar, the bartenders were FANTASTIC. One of them asked my friend what it was she normally drinks, what she was in the mood for and took it upon himself to make an excellent customized drink for her. He made a Corpse reviver #2 for her, which is now officially her favorite drink. I had the Coffee drink, which is their take on an Espresso Martini, which was also really good! We had a bit of a sweet tooth so we ordered the millionaires shortbread cheesecake. It was not what we're expecting at all, but it was also really good. The ambiance is Trendy and fun. There was music playing in the background, but it was the perfect volume so you could still hear each other speak. It is a great place for groups or even a first date. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I took my mother here for brunch on Mother's Day and we both enjoyed the food and the ambiance. We both ordered the epicurean breakfast with a side of cheesy grits. The grits were well seasoned, great texture and the perfect amount of cheese. The epicurean itself comes with eggs, bacon, 2 different sausages (one is a blood sausage), biscuit, potatoes and garnished on the plate were tomatoes and mushrooms. Our server was Kelly and he was great. He also talked with us about their dinner menu and made some suggestions. We will definitely be back for another brunch and to try dinner. The only negative review I would leave is that they are not great at answering the phones. I probably called 3 times leading up to my reservation and they only answered the phone once. If you're looking to make a reservation I'd say it's best to do online via yelp. They will send you messages leading up to your reservation to confirm. read more

Small proportions, big price! We went on a Friday night to try it out since it's new and close by- not too busy for a Friday night at all. Food itself wasn't bad-nothing to justify the price and nothing that left us craving it for the future- just very overpriced in my opinion. Literally the smallest bits of burrata in the caprese salad. The king mushroom small plate had a very interesting deep flavor. If you don't eat meat, the butter they serve with the biscuits had bacon in it we weren't aware of. Getting plain butter was no problem, and the service was good. read more

Absolutely phenomenal. This property hit the jackpot with this Chef. We ordered as a group and tried a significant portion of both the dinner and breakfast menus, and everything was top notch. Dinner favorites: lamb tataki, trilogy of salmon, lobster beetroot salad, duo of beef, halibut steak, and the tomahawk steak frites. Dessert: millionaires shortbread cheesecake. First, The Epicurean is a fabulous hotel but the wait and bar staff at Reverence made my stay beyond amazing. The food is incredible. Try the homemade bread, the fried tuna roll or go for breakfast.
