Tamara truly loves dogs and is extremely knowledgeable about how to take care of dogs. We just added a second dog, a rescue, to our family and Tamara came over to meet her and spent time talking with us about her needs and how pets-Chicago can help us. With pets-Chicago, you know there will always be someone to walk your dog, no matter what. They now have a system that emails you with walk details and the route after walks.

We have worked with trainers to manage his reactivity, and he has improved so much with us - but he absolutely would not let anyone else come near him to put a leash on and walk him. We couldn't figure out what to do with him while we worked because no one could really get near him. We tried 4 other walkers over 5 months and I truly lost all hope - he HATED them all. I reached out to my trainer in desperation, who recommend Tamara. Even after explaining my dogs behaviors and failed walkers, she was still willing to take on the challenge. She came over to meet Reese and just sat on the floor with a million treats until he was comfortable. She then did this for every day he needed a walk until he was comfortable. She has been walking Reese for about 8 months and sometimes he even still has a freak out on her when he has off days. She never gives up on him, she is always patient with him and she even brings other dogs with her to socialize him on walks. Not to mention she has learned his triggers outside and avoids them or manages Reese's behaviors on walks. I do not know what we would do without her. I never would have imagined that Reese and her could be besties now - she even came to his birthday party. If you have a reactive dog, I would not trust anyone else walking them besides Tamara.

When I'm out of town (or even if I have plans for a night), she gives him two insulin shots a day (she's an expert in treating diabetic cats) and lots and lots of love. I'm pretty sure they've watched a movie or two together :) and I love it! She spends so much time with him while I'm out of town, which eliminates my guilt out of leaving him "home alone" . When I come back, he's always freshly brushed, there is no trace of litter in the house, cans are recycled, and I get detailed notes of all their time together. She checks in on Shadow's vet visits and has also helped me find the best kind of food for his success. I know she truly loves my Shadow and I know he's in the best hands when I'm not there. I also have a dog that loves her and her awesome daycare. The backyard is killer. Lots of outdoor space, but pretty secluded too, so my crazy dog doesn't get stressed out from passers-by. These dogs get doted on and have lots of room to play and lounge around. My dog is pretty anxious, but she knows how to approach/play with her and they are best friends. I was referred to her by a friend who raved about her, and I've since referred her to a few people who are thrilled they found such a gem who loves their animals as much as they do.

Sharon is great with animals and has been something of a guru for these first time dog parents. She treats my little guy like he is her own. She's always incredibly flexible which is a big help since my schedule is a moving target. She's easy to get ahold of via phone, text or email which is nice for when we travel.
