I would give Tamara a million stars if I could. My dog Reese is people and dog reactive and very high energy. We have worked with trainers to manage his reactivity, and he has improved so much with us - but he absolutely would not let anyone else come near him to put a leash on and walk him. We couldn't figure out what to do with him while we worked because no one could really get near him. We tried 4 other walkers over 5 months and I truly lost all hope - he HATED them all. I reached out to my trainer in desperation, who recommend Tamara. Even after explaining my dogs behaviors and failed walkers, she was still willing to take on the challenge. She came over to meet Reese and just sat on the floor with a million treats until he was comfortable. She then did this for every day he needed a walk until he was comfortable. She has been walking Reese for about 8 months and sometimes he even still has a freak out on her when he has off days. She never gives up on him, she is always patient with him and she even brings other dogs with her to socialize him on walks. Not to mention she has learned his triggers outside and avoids them or manages Reese's behaviors on walks. I do not know what we would do without her. I never would have imagined that Reese and her could be besties now - she even came to his birthday party. If you have a reactive dog, I would not trust anyone else walking them besides Tamara. read more

Amazing! I met Tamara on a walk serendipitously, meant to be! I no longer have to take my dog to daycare or boarding, where he can sometimes be stressed. I have a large golden retriever who can be very specific in his needs. Tamara and her crew know exactly how to handle him and make sure he gets his walks. I also used Pets for a weekend dog sitter. I will 100% use them again as my dog was safe, not exposed to boarding sicknesses, and he seemed very happy. 10/10 read more

I've been using Tamara for about 6 years. Tamara is passionate about all dogs. She and her employees are wonderful. I highly recommend her. I've had my dog stay with her, too, for boarding. Ellie (my dog) stays right in their house with other dogs and has the best time. No crates or anything. She is very flexible in that I can email her if there is a walk needed at a different time or day at the last minute. Another thing they just started is that you get an email after the walk with where the walker went, time, distance, and when and where the dog went to the bathroom! It's wonderful. They're terrific, flexible, affordable and I've had a few of her staff stay with my pets when I've been away and my apartment is always cleaner when I get home than when I left it. My dog was walked by Brian from Pets-Chicago once or twice a week for several months until we moved to California. Brian was AMAZING and I left everyday work knowing our German Shepard would be in good hands. Erie, our dog, was terrified of people and hated her walks but she immediately bonded with Brian. Brian was so great with her and would always leave little notes about their walk and her mood. Tamara, the owner of Pets-Chicago, was also wonderful- many times I would cancel our walk or have to schedule another one at a moment's notice and Tamara was always pleasant and would accommodate our changing schedule. I can't say enough good things about Tamara and her walkers! We used Pets-Chicago for 2 years from when our Corgi Biscotti was 10-weeks old up until our move to NYC. We lived in the Loop (Lakeshore East area) and were referred to Pets-Chicago from a friend who gave them rave reviews. When we first contacted Tamara, she came to our apartment to meet us and our puppy. For the next 2 years, the walkers always arrived as schedule and were available if there were ever any last minute needs. Biscotti also stayed with Tamara a number of times when we were traveling and we always felt that Biscotti was in great hands and knew that Biscotti was happy as she pulled to the front door when we arrived at her house. Both Tamara and my coworkers were unfailingly helpful and professional, and all in all it was one of the more interesting and enjoyable jobs I've had. Tamara was excellent about scheduling our routes in an efficient manner, and in the few instances where circumstances got in the way, I could always count on either my coworkers or Tamara personally to cover for me. I was a client of Tamara's for close to seven years. Over the years, we had our struggles but overall I remained loyal to her because I truly felt she truly cared about my dog. I no longer feel that way. Over the past few months I experienced the following: no note/money taken when a walk 'supposedly' took place, lost keys by a walker's roommate (odd, right?), NO WALK on a scheduled day resulting in my dog being in the house for 13 hours straight (this was not the first time this happened). Upon discovering the 13 hour day with no walk for my dog, I promptly contacted Tamara. Her follow up was PATHETIC. As the owner of a business, she took absolutely no responsibility for the terrible mistake - no apology, no explaination. Instead, I had to hound her for my two sets of keys to be returned so that I could give them to his new walker. I was lied to about keys being returned by his walker and didn't get her copy back until three days later. Unacceptable for a business owner. I would not recommend Tamara's services to anyone that actually cares about their pets. She is not reliable and needs to seriously rethink her hiring process and business plan. I'm sorry to write this review, but there are a lot of dog walking/sitting services out there. I would hate for some to experience what my dog did. It's just not fair. read more

I have a 10 1/2 year old Newfie and Tamara has been her caregiver since she was 6 mos old. I am pretty sure my girl Bayla might like Tamara more than me! Early on Tamara helped me get a handle on how manage a giant breed - who can be strong and stubborn but still sweet. She really showed up and helped me find my way. I travel for my job extensively and work full-time plus some. Tamara has literally been an extension of my schedule - she's flexible, she adapts to my very unpredictable and hectic schedule and she truly cares. I think when she has Bayla, she treats her like a member of their family unit. Bayla tore a ligament in her knee while I was traveling and Tamara handled the whole thing. I met her at the hospital once I returned and she had already done a ton of research re: our options, gotten Bayla a harness to help her get around and attended the surgeon appt with me - and frankly understood it better than me. She has always offered help and support in caring for Bayla and I'm just incredibly grateful. She's made it possible for me to have a dog given my crazy schedule and Bayla has had a good little life as a result :-) I highly recommend using her - she manages her walkers and aims to provide the best care possible. read more
