I cannot say enough great things about Sharon and Pawsome Pooch Care…read more Some people are simply "animal people" -- they have an instinct and intuition when it comes to caring for and training animals. Sharon is absolutely one of those people. I rescued a very traumatized Cavapoo puppy several months ago and was struggling to bond with him and help him feel safe. Sharon not only helped train Paddington, but also guided me through the emotional process, giving me the tools and confidence to better support him. Before traveling with Paddington for the first time, I shared my worries and anxiety with Sharon. While he tolerated his carrier, I always had to place him inside myself. After just one session with Sharon, Paddington became obsessed with his travel carrier and flew comfortably on multiple flights. To this day, he still happily snuggles into it whenever he sees it. Sharon is punctual, diligent, and a true professional. I provide general guidelines and goals, but I completely trust her judgment to do what's best for my dog -- and she always does. Sharon truly has a gift for what she does. I'm incredibly grateful for her care and expertise and would recommend her without hesitation.

I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews. Only when an experience is either unbelievably good or…read morereally bad, haha. But my experience with Sharon has truly been amazing!! I adopted my pup, Lady, from a rescue almost five years ago. She came to me very shy, and at the time she lived with an older dog, so her anxiety wasn't always obvious. Later, when I moved into a shared apartment, she would bark occasionally, but there were always people around, so I never realized how bad it actually was. Fast forward to now: I live alone with Lady and my cat, and the anxiety hit full force. Lady was barking nonstop when I left, unable to entertain herself, and overall extremely anxious. I was practically trapped in my apartment for months because of it. I tried every online tip and trick I could find, but it wasn't enough. Then I found Sharon through Rover and decided to give training a real shot. After just four sessions, the improvement has been incredible. It may not seem huge to some people, but getting Lady comfortable enough to stay in her crate without panic - and being able to leave the apartment without getting noise complaints, has been life changing. One thing I really appreciate about Sharon is how much she listens. She takes my concerns seriously and works with me on how I want to approach training. She gave me multiple training options and different speeds we could go at, which helped so much. I've often been told that full-time medication might be the next step for Lady's anxiety (she only takes situational meds), but I've never wanted to put her on something long-term unless absolutely needed. Sharon made me feel secure that we could keep training and making progress without jumping straight to that option. Having a professional who actually sees my dog's behavior and reassures me, rather than quickly pushing medication like many outside opinions, made me feel so much more comfortable and confident. If you have an older dog and you're worried you've "missed the window" for training, don't be. Sharon has been amazing at helping undo the habits Lady built over the years. I couldn't recommend her more.

Four years ago, Miranda killed my dog. It was not intentional but it was negligent. I avoided…read morewriting a review because I didn't want to write it from a place of anger but four years later I think about this everyday and I will never get over it. I feel that it's unfair to not share my experience with others so they can make their own choices. I had 2 dogs and one was a very selective dog, meaning he didn't get along with all dogs he met. Miranda was referred to us by a friend whose dog had similar issues. When we met Miranda to see her facility, I asked her if she would be cresting the dogs when she left the building. (I asked this for a reason) she told me that if they were not crated at home, she would not crate them and they could just stay in her living space. It turns out that Miranda was crating my dogs together when she left them and that is ultimately what led to my dogs death. My selective dog could not be crated with any other dogs. If he was and anything triggered him, he would redirect onto another dog in his crate, even his brother and they would fight. This happened so Miranda came home and found that my dogs had a fight in their crate. She took the selective dog, Carson out to bathe him and ultimately left him unattended in the sink, tethered to the wall. He then tried to jump out of the sink and you can imagine the rest. We left for the weekend with 2 dogs and came back having only one.

Working with MARS has been a great experience for us! My husband and I searched online for…read moreadoptable puppies, and that's when we found MARS. We found the most adorable puppy, Hannah (now Bailey!), and filled out an application, which was reviewed and approved in a very timely fashion. We were even able to reserve Bailey in advance, which meant we didn't have to worry about missing out on her or something going wrong. Shortly after we were approved, Alex got into contact with me via email (which is great for me!). I asked TONS of questions and wrote a few lengthy emails- All of which Alex responded to usually within a few hours and took the time to go over everything I wanted to know in detail. We weren't getting this kind of attention with other rescues, so it was a great feeling to see how much they care about their animals and finding them good homes! When we went to our adoption event, they offered to stay a day late since we couldn't make it for their original time due to a family wedding. They gave us all of Bailey's medical records and explained everything on there. They made some great recommendations for food, treats, toys, and keeping her healthy. We took Bailey home that day, and couldn't be happier! She's a wonderful pup, and has been a wonderful addition to our family!

We adopted Mulder (FKA "Cider") shortly before Christmas. Even though we were running late to the…read moreadoption event, MARS representatives stayed late and made sure we had a connection with the dog that we only originally knew from pictures. Their care and concern for the puppies was evident. They also helped us select the right dog food and essential accessories, which helped us immensely. They were honest about his lack of housebreaking and leash training, and directed us to sources for assistance in those areas. Since we got Mulder just before he was scheduled to be neutered, MARS provided a $75 rebate with proof that the dog was fixed (required with the adoption contract), which was sent to my PayPal account. He was also up-to-date on his puppy series shots and very healthy. Although we never needed it (yea!) also knowing that I had a month of free health insurance for Mulder was also very comforting, as was his microchipping. Throughout the process MARS representatives have been very responsive and communicative, answering even the "tough questions" and concerns. I'm sorry for the experiences that people had 2 years ago, a sick puppy is no fun. Thankfully, our experience with MARS has been excellent in every way, and I would definitely adopt from this no-kill rescue again.
