Didn't get to take pictures because everything was so good. Shakshuka was spot on, delicious. Bagel is a must try, also very good. The regular pancake isn't an American type pancake, more cake, very fluffy and sweet. Also, their pita, with hummus is very good. If you like turmeric, shawarma is good, but I would get that in south Brooklyn at a kosher place. Authentic names for things would help, a Yemenite pancake is a malawach fyi, didn't get that because I have many at home. All in all, would come again, yummy food, must try. read more

So many people have told me about Reunion and decided to come here for brunch on a Saturday after the farmers market. While there was a wait, we were notified about an open table within 30 mins. I knew exactly what I wanted to order by reading all of the reviews and my Israeli bagel and lox was just as beautiful and yummy as I had imagined. All the other food coming out looked great as well and am looking forward to trying other dishes soon. read more

Saturday night, managed to get a table outside for two people without any wait. Good open area that's a nice setting for people watching while waiting for food. Lots of things to try, so decided to split a few of the items. Between two people, had the Falafel ($9), Dolma ($14), and Labneh ($9). First off, the falafel is fantastic - three pieces of perfectly cooked chick peas witha tangy sauce in the center. Labneh packs a tart punch, helped by the salty falafel and hearty pita bread. Dolma is several pieces of stuffed grape leaves on top of eggplant and other veggies. Not bad flavor, could have been seasoned more. Server was kind and got our stuff quickly. Great place for dinner if in the area. read more

1. They have a happy hour board outside to falsely attract customers. Apparently the happy hour has not been a thing for months, we asked them to take it down and they just said "yeah we will". They didn't. 2. we got there at 3:30pm, the server didn't say a word about the kitchen closing at 4. So naturally we ordered hummus and discussed what we wanted for food and called her to order some more. She took our order and came back in 5. It was 4:06 and she said the kitchen is closed so too bad. read more

Delicious brunch spot in Williamsburg ! My friends and I came here on thanksgiving day and we were enjoyed our meal very much. The servers were all very friendly and we were seated right away. It's a very small restaurant so if you're coming with more than 4, I suggest making a reservation. I had their famous pancake and we all got the hummus to start. Their hummus is flavorful and delicious! It has a very nutty taste and I kept wanting to go for it. The pancake was very oily but I'm guessing that's how it normally is? It was $14 but I thought it was a hefty price to pay for the pancake. It reminded me of the Chinese scallion pancakes (without the scallions). Parking was relatively easy! read more

This place is incredibly full during brunch time for all the good reasons. I mean, you might thing brunch is so overrated, and I'm not usually a fan of brunch cafes, because they just get so boring. However, I love how this place took their own twist to a regular brunch menu. They served Israeli-inspired brunch (or so I was told). There were a lot of interesting options, but I ordered Shakshuka with extra lamb, which was served with challah bread. I know so many other places have Shakshuka, but theirs not only score visual points on presentation, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors are well balanced, the spices are fragrant, the lamb is definitely a perfect addition, the challah bread has slight crispness on the outside (I wonder if it was toasted) and fluffy in texture. My friend had the chicken shawarma. It's a very saucy dish and quite spicy too! I think it was also absolutely delicious, but it's quite a heavy one. In addition, the interior of the place was also very nice and the staffs were really friendly. Definitely a great spot for brunch! read more

Took my Israeli sister here to get her thoughts and she loved the decor very Tel Aviv but the food was not exactly mind blowing. First off cappuccino was served luke warm so that was a turn off. The chicken Schnitzel was a little dry. I did love it on the challah my sis did not she just felt that the flavors did not match. The sabich she was excited about eggs were perfect as was the mango chutney but the eggplant she said is supposed to be the star of the plant and it should not be breaded the breading just killed the flavor of the eggplant also she said needed way more sauce in this dish. Falafel were good. The labenah I like she didn't care for the tomato. Service was kind and attentive which is great because if you have been to Israel you know that is not the norm. Bottom line nice attempt food 3.5 service kicked it up to 4. read more

We came here for brunch. It was raining outside. The hostess informed us there would be a long wait, which I found surprising since they had a lot of empty tables. She said those tables were all reserved. I went ahead and found reservations available on open table and was able to book one for 15 mins later. Then after 15 mins, when I requested to be seated for my "confirmed" reservation, they refused to honor it because there was a long wait list for walk ins. I don't understand why my reservation was not honored. Had I first made a reservation without trying to walk in first, I suspect they would oblige. This inconsistency in service is highly humiliating and un-professional. Would not recommend this establishment until they learn to treat customer fairly and provide better training. read more

My friends and I stopped at Reunion the day after my fourth of July party in desperate need of a carb fix. I'd never been here before but have definitely biked by it more than a handful of times on my way to McCaren Park. We arrived around 11:30 AM and weren't surprised to see it was bustling. We hadn't made a reservation but were lucky that they were able to seat our party of five inside almost instantaneously. After looking over the menu I decided that the breakfast pita would be perfect to satisfy the aching hole I had in my stomach. When it came out the first thing I noticed was the smell of freshly cooked egg and savory bacon inside what felt like the worlds fluffiest pita pockets. First bite was heaven, second bite the same, third followed suit. If you come here you'll be impressed with the hospitable service, tasty beverages, and mouth water plates for sure! read more

Solid brunch spot near McCarren. It's a great sign that on a brisk February day, the outside tables were filled up with eager brunch goers. We didn't wait too long, maybe ten minutes for a party of four, and it was convenient that they texted us when the table was ready. We ordered two Shakshukas, a chicken schnitzel sandwich, and the avocado toast. The food came out quickly, but maybe too quickly since the eggs were lukewarm and raw (the white part of the eggs were still running clear). Flavors for the dish were nice though and I liked that they included challah as a side. It was also great that a lot of dishes could be made dairy free. I've been here a while back for dinner and preferred it over the brunch offering. Service was great on all occasions. Overall, a nice neighborhood spot serving good vibes! read more

I will start off and say this place is special and I am soooo happy me and my mom decided to go here . Starting off Sunday mornings when they first open is the best time because we were the first sit in customers . Everyone was very warm and welcoming . And we were able to sit wherever . The decor of this place is just perfect a mixture of plants and antiques and it's like the perfect insta worthy background to your picture . We had a lovely server who was extremely sweet and warm . So for food we had the falafel , pancakes , I had mines without the butter (no dairy for me , and the pancakes are vegetarian not vegan ) I also had the potatoes with aioli ( the aioli has eggs in it so you can get it without I'm sure and just get the potatoes with ketchup ) Sidenote:Also if you're vegan there are options for you and they can take out the meat or egg out of some of the options on the menu so do not fear ! The falafels had to be the best I've had . Very spot on and authentic . The pancakes were so light they melted in your mouth . The potatoes were ridiculously good I mean they are potatoes . Everything was so delicious and I have to come back for that falafel burger during the week ! Also we met the owner towards the end and she was the sweetest thing . This place felt so comfortable and homey . And you can really taste the love in this food . Please go ! Keep doing your thangggggg reunion! read more

Reunion - Shakshuka Shakshuka Shakshuka - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Reunion is a picturesque cafe offering Israeli-inflected brunch classics from the ground floor of a glassy new Williamsburg condo. I came with my boyfriend back in November, and we lucked into a table around 10:30 on a Sunday. The space is small but well-decorated, with the typical twee Brooklyn aesthetic getting a personal touch from nostalgic items like badminton rackets in floor-to-ceiling shelving. Very casual feel, with some folks getting coffee to-go from the counter, and a bustling atmosphere. The menu runs the gamut from sweet to savory, with run-of-the-mill yogurt bowls and avocado toast complemented with a Yemenite pancake and flatbread topped with lamb. Hummus, tahini, and labneh all make starring appearances. Everything is affordable, with most dishes $10-15. I was craving pancakes, and Reunion's rendition ($13) did not disappoint-- a massively fluffy singleton topped with bananas and berries. My boyfriend's shakshuka ($14) was also satisfying, with the tomato and red pepper sauce on the spicy side and served with a mini loaf of challah. Service was great. Coffee service was lovely-- my cappuccino was perfectly made and served quickly. Abundant natural light if you're trying to do the whole Instagram thing. I would hit it on the early side, as this isn't showstopping food worth hourlong waits, but everything was delicious and it's quite a pleasant way to start your day on the weekend. read more

Fabulous service, creative food items, and a welcoming first meal in New York for our group of Californians, made for such a special time here at Reunion. We walked here from our Airbnb hungry, cold, and slightly fazed after a red eye from the West Coast. Reunion was along our walking path for the day, and we were so relieved to enter in this warm haven full of smiles and lovely staff! We were greeted warmly and promptly given waters and menus. I enjoyed my kale quinoa salad, which felt so energizing and refreshing! i think it was the perfect amount, as someone who traditionally never orders salad, because who orders salads when they're dining out amirite?! But this salad was SO good. Filled with nutrition and yumminess from the baby kale to the soft-boiled egg (perfection) and delicious sauces, I could not stop licking every bit of quinoa into my mouth. The best part was that the staff and (maybe) owner/manager took the time to explain what ingredients were in our food! Every single one. She was so sweet, and so was our awesome server (shoutout to you homie, if you ever come to SF, let us know). They truly embodied the meaning of "Reunion," and not many food spots serve up that homey feeling anymore. The single restroom is very clean and also has lots of character. The space is curated and staged so well...with wooden-vibe and a bookshelf of colors and artifacts that make the place feel like a cafe slash breakfast corner. Would highly recommend the Mediterranean-inspired breakfast cafe here to anyone passing through! read more

The service and food here was amazing! I came in on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 7 people. We were swiftly sat down in under 10 minutes. I was genuinely impressed because the place isn't too big and so 7 would've been a squeeze but they got it done right away. Then we were asked to order and they even recommended us the fan favorite: incredible shawarma. It was truly delicious. For the table we ordered matcha latte, cappuccino, Shawarma x2, shashuka x2 , pancakes, and lahma'ajun. The food came out swiftly and the waiters came by to check on us and that was really sweet. Break down of food: Incredible Shawarma was named that for a reason; it's so good. The richness of the curry based flavor is further enhanced by the acidity of the pickled cabbage. The chicken and potatoes are tender and the flavors just compliment each other really well. It's rich yet refreshing and it's a good balance. Lahma'ajun was actually my favorite dish there today. The lamb is so flavorful and when the running egg yolk is mixed in; it elevates the whole dish. Plus the pita/flat bread at the bottom was definitely there to mop up the delicious sauce because not a single drop of that should go to waste; it was really good. The Shashuka was has a deep and rich taste of tomatoes. I LOVE tomatoes so I really liked this. The challah that came with it in my personal opinion doesn't really pair too well. Challah is fluffy and airly; good on its own; maybe better as an egg sandwich material. I think pita bread would have been better with this or garlic nann. I can't speak on the falafel sandwich and the pancake because I didn't try them but my family members who did eat them said it was good. My only recommendation for the restaurant would be to include photos of the food items on the menus so it's easier to see what it is we're ordering. Overall the food was wonderful and I would recommend this place! The aesthetic of the place is almost very beautiful! read more

It's such a cute place when you go inside! I'm still not accustomed to how small New York restaurants are so I found myself practically listening in on everyone's conversation but that's the tourist side of New York! The service was great the servers were busy and they were attentive, the decor was so cute, very boho chic type of vibes. Now the only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars was because of the actual food. I've had plenty of avocado toasts because I am a sucker for avocado on a piece of bread. However, I've had sourdough avocado toasts before, it's basically a rougher version of normal breads but this one was just really hard to cut through. I'm not sure if it was the knife they gave me or the bread but I found myself sawing through the toast to the point I felt like my mimosa was going to spill from how tough the bread was to cut. The table was pretty much shaking the entire time to the point I felt like my food was a task to cut through, but, nonetheless it was okay and maybe I'll try something else next time! read more

Hooooooly moly this was a good meal!! My friend and I decided to come here for brunch on a Saturday. We couldn't get seated right away, and they didn't take reservations so we had to wait for about 30 minutes. But it was actually a really warm and inviting place so we didn't mind waiting. Once we sat down towards the back of the restaurant we looked at the menus and picked out some drinks. She ordered a cocktail and I ordered some rose. It came in the can and was very tasty - it was also the equivalent of 2 glasses of wine. Then we ordered some food and this is where things got interesting. She ordered the Jaffa Laffa with a lamb Ragu which I had a bite of and pretty much blew me away. I went with the baby kale salad and I got a side of bacon to make sure it wasn't too healthy! We also shared a roasted cauliflower which came in a turmeric labneh and was quite large that we didn't even finish it. I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the food! read more

I thought the brunch here was great. The location is super inviting, I thought the layout was pretty cool and the decor was fun but the seating is extremely cramped. I also think they could have made better use of that big wooden box seating thing in the middle of the restaurant, but that's just me. The restaurant is a popular option, so get there early. The food: Sabich Bowl- Tahini, eggplants, mango chutney, soft boiled eggs, cilantro & tomato relish. Funny story, when I saw it on the menu, it sounded amazing, when the plate arrived, I was really disappointed since it is not what I excepted at all. When I ate it, I was blown away how good it was, such extreme in emotions lol. The fried cubes of eggplant were excellent, they were perfectly cooked without being too greasy and they had a really nice flavor. The pita was really good, it was nicely crunchy, but the Tahini tied everything together perfectly. The soft boiled egg added a nice richness and the cilantro added a perfect herbal note. I highly recommend this dish. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=r2ppI_ea6SfNIP3rhf3xpQ&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Avocado Toast- Avocado on multigrain toast, Kale pesto, poached egg & roasted cherry tomato. This was actually the reason my group came to the restaurant since we were doing an avocado toast tour and the one here was great. I enjoyed the taste and the texture of the avocado and I really loved the nice lemon hit you get throughout the toast. The other thing I enjoyed was the nice spicy kick, it's not something you see often but it totally worked. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4kLequsRZrZAPhK2Qz31kQ&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Shakshooka- 2 eggs cooked over spicy tomato and red pepper sauce, Tahini & Olives. First things first, I love saying the name! Second, this dish is kinda the trendy brunch item but I have to admit, I am not sold. It looks like a fun thing to order and it's OK but it comes off rather plain to me and not as exciting. I don't think I want to try Shakshooka at other places. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BQNebgAgv8kLx6_eaQmXPw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA read more

Re.union looks like a designer's playbox - soft bright lights, olive and pastel shades, neat hand-scrawled chalk art and menus. We called ahead on Labor Day to make sure they were open, hoping to find the perfect location for the perfect last meal of vacation. By the time we three walked through the unassuming open door, we were sold. The menu is delightfully foreign and familiar at the same time. Classics like granola, eggs, and toast are paired with Israeli salad, shakshuka, and schnitzel. There's room for everyone in the family here, both palate and space-wise. We settled down in a corner near the cubby wall with Lattes, Iced Chai, and an oh-so-flaky Almond Croissant, continuing to admire the picturesque way everything was set up before realizing as well that the bottom-most cubbies contained pull-out boxes filled with toys for the young'ns. Functional AND cute. The waitstaff came out one at a time to bring us our food as it became ready. We had decided that the Almond Croissant was the best decision of the morning when the Reunion Breakfast was brought out, and we quickly had to change our minds because this colorful, paintbrush palette of a dish took the cake. The canvas? A basket of soft, crusty bread. Among the homemade dips in the tray were tahini, beet, jam, butter, and olives. Accompanying this was a plate of scrambled eggs (just the right amount of fluffy) and Israeli salad (refreshingly tart). Before we even had time to finish feasting our eyes on this dish, the Avocado Toast and Yogurt & Granola came out as well and we hardly knew how to capture everything with our eyes, let alone phones. Hastily the food pictures were taken, and even more hastily our metal forks descended on the plate closest to us. Everything was visually stunning, and not overwhelmingly seasoned. The Avocado Toast had a good ratio of bread to avocado and egg, but I wish there were slightly more sprouts. Alone, any of the components in the Yogurt & Granola could have been your typical high-quality ingredients, but together with shreds of coconut, seasonal fruits, and honey, this was a bite to behold. Chai lattes can easily err on the side of too sweet or too herby, but this one was just right for me. They brew Stumptown coffee, and it outshone most of the other places we went to while in NYC (the West Coast is another story). A squat metal water dispenser sits in the corner near the bathroom, with glass cups sitting adjacent. Restroom-goers are greeted with a Shakespearian monologue on the door. The restroom itself is clean and comfortable, doubling as a storage room but managing to keep things largely out of the way. There's a small step stool for those that need it to reach the sink. We barely managed to finish our food and felt we got our money's worth for the quality and quantity of food. As this is a less touristy spot, we felt relaxed the whole time and found the employees to be great as well. A return trip, even just for a cup'a joe, will be necessary. read more

Finding this place came out of endless lines from surrounding brunch venues. Once we were here, it was impossible to leave. Large glass windows fill this eatery with great light even on a cloudy day. Head over to the counter and begin to pick your brain on a menu that makes everything sound good, especially the soup, sandwich or meal of the day. Their potato leek soup was incredibly popular as I managed to snag the last bowl . Mmm. Spices were just right. Hits the soul on a cold day. I also went with the Fancy cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato jam. A gooey center with crispy bacon and toast. Large cut bread makes you savor each bite slowly, almost like stopping to smell the roses, but it smells like delicious bacon and cheese. My friends shared with me the regular cheese sandwich, which was also fantastic. Cut in half the middle of the sandwich resembles a melted block of mixed cheese that somehow found space in an already full stomach. Great place. read more
